Rachel is a miracle worker. I'm 5.5 months pregnant and started having tremendous back & shoulder pain, and a numbness in my right arm and hand. It was debilitating. I wasn't really expecting a lot of relief with the massage but that's exactly what I got! The space is private and clean, very serene and soothing. The pillow she used for prenatal massage allowed me to lay face down comfortably and helped tremendously while she worked out all the tough spots in my back and shoulder. She found tightness all over and I cannot explain the immediate relief I felt. Last night I had the best night sleep I have had in a while! Expecting mama's - look no further. Don't believe that you have to live with the aches and pains and discomfort - there is relief available! read more

This place and experience was awful. I was gifted a gift card here so I could relax after a very hard semester teaching. I went in with great expectations. I've never had a massage before and was looking forward to a relaxing experience. I filled out the proper forms and even said I wanted a massage to ease my stress and anxiety. Jill made sure that experience did not happen. First she learned that we had a mutual acquaintance. I don't know Jill at all. But man, did she try to pry more and more info out of me to gossip about my friend. I even told her I didn't want to do that. But she wanted to keep prying. Then! She started telling me things about my friend I didn't want to know. As she was massaging me she said she found a lump on my back and insinuated that it could be cancer and that it's common. Then proceeded to tell me all about how horrible cancer is. Bye bye relaxing time. I got so stressed by the whole thing I started freaking out about cancer. Had to schedule an appointment with my doctor who couldn't see me in two weeks. Two weeks filled with stress. Finally see my doctor "there's no bump and I have no idea what she's talking about". My doctor also said masseuses or "massage therapists" are NOT doctors though they LOVE to give unsolicited medical advice. The whole experience really sucked and I want my gifters money back. What a horrible experience when all I wanted was a massage. Hope Jill can get her act cleaned up. read more

This was a fantastic and of high caliber. I stopped from driving due to a throbbing headache, desperately seeking a place to take me in as a walk-in. I was fortunate to have had Jill. She attended and found all the exact trigger points without having to tell her and every pressure applied, I felt my headache being mitigated. Healing hands is the perfect word for this place. 10 stars and wish I lived closer to this venue, because I'd go frequently. Jill cured my pain. read more

I came in with an aching back and shoulders, and Rachel truly worked her magic. Every movement was done with intention and care. She knew exactly where my body needed attention. I walked in carrying tension I didn't even realize I was holding, and walked out feeling lighter, clearer, and actually reset. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants more than just relaxation. read more

I absolutely love this massage studio. Lani runs a tight ship with the best massage therapist on the planet. The atmosphere is clean and peaceful. I just got a massage two days ago from one of Lani's newer therapists... SangJin Lee. I will be going back forever. Like all the others, he has complete understanding of the human body and exactly how to nail the spots. I like really deep tissue massage and Sanjin was exceptional. I highly recommend Lani's place - you will be thrilled! read more

Healing Hands By Lani - Massage Therapy Near Me - Hermosa Beach, California

Lani and her team were amazing today. I will definitely be back for more. Knowledgeable and professional. Hidden gem in Hermosa.

I just had a deep tissue with Jill. It was great and my body feels much better. My muscles are looser.

Jozie was so amazing today. She took really great care of the stiffness I had in my back. Very discreet with making sure everything felt better. I will be here again for a massage. read more

Every massage therapist I've had here has been wonderful, especially Jill. She has magic hands!

This is exactly what I needed. I was able to get a last minute appointment via email/text for a prenatal massage with Jill. I booked the first available time which was at 9 am. I had minimal paperwork to fill out, and the setup was fairly quick. Jill had already arranged the massage table the night before with the pads and pillows to make lying down on my stomach seamless and easy (which was no small feat at 29 weeks, then!). I honestly wish I had been able to book 2 hours. It was the most relaxing and therapeutic massage I have ever received, and for sure the best in the South Bay by far. I initially went in with so much tension built up in my neck and shoulders from anxiety and stress in addition to just the general pregnancy aches and pains in my legs, feet, and back. By the end of our session, it had melted away completely. I am still feeling so released and it's been almost 2 weeks. Since I live close, I took a lyft rather than trying to park. Parking is metered along Hermosa Ave and I just didn't want to deal with it. Location is easy enough to find. It's in a very small "plaza" on the first floor near some other shops and cafes. I can't wait to go back for another massage. read more

Lani assessed my imbalances in less than 5 minutes and I was amazed at how much she was able to discern in a short period of time. I came in due to hip issues and discovered that one leg is longer, my hips are uneven, pelvis tilted, stiff thoracic spine, collapsed arches in feet, etc. The resulting therapy with Jozie was targeted/excellent and she gave me exercises to improve the underlying causes of my imbalances. I can't say enough good things and it is the first time that someone ever developed a strategic plan to fix me before working on me. Wow! read more

These guys are fantastic and Jill is amazing if you love deep tissue. I've been going to Jill for 20 years now and I can't say enough good things about her and her skills. read more

Excellent response time! Got me in same day with Rachael for deep tissue. She was fantastic and place was super clean, I'll be back!!

The Short: I was in the middle of my massage and I asked my therapist if I could change my 60 minute appointment to 90 minutes. It was THAT good! The Long: 1) Lani answered the phone when I called to inquire about their services and asked what I was looking for (type of massage, pressure, specific areas, etc.) and suggested a massage therapist she thought would be a good fit. She spent time to understand what I wanted to accomplish and who to pair me with. I been to places where they don't even ask this at all. It's a small thing but it can have such a big impact on treatment! 2) My massage therapist, Hilary, is my new favorite person. She ran through the check-in process with me and asked me how I was doing and about any specific needs. I told her ALL the things (back, shoulder, neck, hips, etc.) and she diligently worked through them during the session. Pressure was perfect, the massage was well balanced and I walked out of there feeling soooo great! Again it's the little things like how she encouraged deep breathing at tough points and educated me (hey infraspinatus hey!) along the way. Good communication and excellent tempo too! I could go on but you should get the point by now right? I extended my massage in the middle of my massage! Best decision I made all week. Thank you Hilary. 3) Easy off-street parking and a nice ambiance It can't be completely perfect, can it?! Well for me it was. However, it is a smaller place (like many day spas) so you may hear some chit chat over the water fountain and the relaxing music a bit. Is it enough to keep me from going back? NOPE. Did I just ask myself a question in a yelp review? YUP. Also, the unit itself is tucked away from the street so that was nice! Can't wait for my next massage! read more

Rachel was wonderful. I was sore all over, and she calmly, thoroughly pinpointed the exact areas I needed to be loosened. The place gave me a calming feeling of zen from the dim lights to the friendly staff. I highly recommend Rachel. read more

I was excited because I read amazing reviews and I don't doubt any of the comments. Unfortunately, I got someone who made the entire experience so awkward from start to finish. There was no greeting (it was my first time there) she just told me there's a form for me to fill out, I had no idea this person was going to be my masseuse, but she didn't target where I requested and what we briefly discussed. There was no consistency or rhythm in the way she was massaging. I felt confused and couldn't relax. When we finished she didn't even wipe off the oil just got up and said she'll let me get dressed. When I got out, she didn't even ask anything along the lines of, "how was it, how do you feel?" Instead, she handed me the credit card machine and I had to ask, "how much?" I also never leave yelp reviews but I think this is understandable to share. $100 paid and I left sad and unhappy because I'm 100% still in the same condition I came in. read more

Yes. Yes. Yes. I recently had a family member pass and I needed attention to stress areas. I was set up with Monica through Lani within a few hours. I made 2 more appointments because I felt so comfortable and the price is very fair - don't forget to leave an appropriate tip ;-)) Just a heads up though - after a long rainy season there is construction in the South Bay and in this building - I'm sure it's only temporary - I put in ear plugs the last time and I think I fell sleep 3 times. This is not the fault of the business- just a heads up. Was still a great massage... Amazing care And treatment at Healing Hands by Lani.. read more

I've delayed in writing this review simply because I selfishly don't want this spot to get too busy for me ;) I have been going to Hillary for a few months now and can say she's hands down the best masseuse in the South Bay. Very nice place tucked away conveniently on Hermosa Avenue. Super happy I found this spot and suggest it wholeheartedly. I've had bad neck pain for years and she is able to really loosen up my neck and shoulders like nothing else has. I will keep coming back! Thank you!!! read more

I went in yesterday to see Hilary and I was not disappointed. My upper back and neck had been bothering me for a few months and I finally decided to do something about it. I called Lani, described my issue and she made an appointment for me with Hilary. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being treated by a professional. Ambiance was very relaxing and she went to work on my back and neck. I could feel months of stress just melting away. She is very knowledgeable about how the muscles work together and how stress in one part impacts others. That night, I had the most relaxing night of sleep I've had in weeks. I highly recommend Healing Hands by Lani, and Hilary rocks! read more

Specifically a 5 star for Hilary! She was AH-mazing! My fiancé and I came out to Hermosa Beach for a nice relaxing vacation and sure enough, right before our flight I tweaked my neck. It was awful, and I couldn't even turn my neck or relax at all! I found Healing Hands on yelp and trusted the reviews. On point! Hilary was able to squeeze me in that same morning and after an hour of very concentrated work, I felt some relief. I am now enjoying the rest of my vacation thanks to her, so I had to stop and make sure I gave her a great review. If I lived out here, she would most definitely be my regular massage therapist! Total pro and so kind! read more

Looked at the reviews, went in and saw Hillary. I pulled my hamstring a couple weeks ago and had some deep tissue massaged. Not only was the massage helpful but she educated me as well. Very professional and have already recommended this place to others. Thanks Hillary! read more

I have fibromyalgia pain across my shoulders, neck and back. Very tight muscles. Been with Lani (and Hilary) for almost 2 years now. They both do a myofacial massage on me. My tightness has disappeared. My back even cracks now by doing simple moves. Feels so good. If I have a hip problem I go in and get adjusted Back to moving again. They are the best. Glad to have them as part of my medical specialist read more

This review is specifically for Monica-- she's amazing. I currently am 9 months pregnant and after reading similar positive yelp reviews thought I would try out Healing Hands. Throughout my 2nd and 3rd trimester I've had several massages to help with the growing pains of my growing body and can honestly say Monica was the best at prenatal massage, hands down. Now that I'm in the homestretch Monica informed me she can apply more pressure to my muscles to relieve tension, and it was the perfect amount. Not only was it the best prenatal massage I have received, I would argue this was one of the best massages I've ever received... which is saying something considering you have to lay on your side while you're pregnant, which never is as great. I'll be heading back next week for another appointment with Monica and certainly after this baby is born too. read more
