Lani assessed my imbalances in less than 5 minutes and I was amazed at how much she was able to discern in a short period of time. I came in due to hip issues and discovered that one leg is longer, my hips are uneven, pelvis tilted, stiff thoracic spine, collapsed arches in feet, etc. The resulting therapy with Jozie was targeted/excellent and she gave me exercises to improve the underlying causes of my imbalances. Rachel is a miracle worker. I'm 5.5 months pregnant and started having tremendous back & shoulder pain, and a numbness in my right arm and hand. It was debilitating. The pillow she used for prenatal massage allowed me to lay face down comfortably and helped tremendously while she worked out all the tough spots in my back and shoulder. This is exactly what I needed. I was able to get a last minute appointment via email/text for a prenatal massage with Jill. I booked the first available time which was at 9 am. I had minimal paperwork to fill out, and the setup was fairly quick. Jill had already arranged the massage table the night before with the pads and pillows to make lying down on my stomach seamless and easy (which was no small feat at 29 weeks, then!). I honestly wish I had been able to book 2 hours. It was the most relaxing and therapeutic massage I have ever received, and for sure the best in the South Bay by far. I initially went in with so much tension built up in my neck and shoulders from anxiety and stress in addition to just the general pregnancy aches and pains in my legs, feet, and back. By the end of our session, it had melted away completely. I am still feeling so released and it's been almost 2 weeks. Since I live close, I took a lyft rather than trying to park. Parking is metered along Hermosa Ave and I just didn't want to deal with it. Location is easy enough to find. It's in a very small "plaza" on the first floor near some other shops and cafes. The Short: I was in the middle of my massage and I asked my therapist if I could change my 60 minute appointment to 90 minutes. It was THAT good! The Long: 1) Lani answered the phone when I called to inquire about their services and asked what I was looking for (type of massage, pressure, specific areas, etc.) and suggested a massage therapist she thought would be a good fit. She spent time to understand what I wanted to accomplish and who to pair me with. I been to places where they don't even ask this at all. It's a small thing but it can have such a big impact on treatment! 2) My massage therapist, Hilary, is my new favorite person. She ran through the check-in process with me and asked me how I was doing and about any specific needs. I told her ALL the things (back, shoulder, neck, hips, etc.) and she diligently worked through them during the session. Pressure was perfect, the massage was well balanced and I walked out of there feeling soooo great! Again it's the little things like how she encouraged deep breathing at tough points and educated me (hey infraspinatus hey!) along the way. Good communication and excellent tempo too! I could go on but you should get the point by now right? I extended my massage in the middle of my massage! Best decision I made all week. Thank you Hilary. 3) Easy off-street parking and a nice ambiance It can't be completely perfect, can it?! Well for me it was. However, it is a smaller place (like many day spas) so you may hear some chit chat over the water fountain and the relaxing music a bit. Is it enough to keep me from going back? NOPE. I was excited because I read amazing reviews and I don't doubt any of the comments. Unfortunately, I got someone who made the entire experience so awkward from start to finish. There was no greeting (it was my first time there) she just told me there's a form for me to fill out, I had no idea this person was going to be my masseuse, but she didn't target where I requested and what we briefly discussed. There was no consistency or rhythm in the way she was massaging. I felt confused and couldn't relax. When we finished she didn't even wipe off the oil just got up and said she'll let me get dressed. When I got out, she didn't even ask anything along the lines of, "how was it, how do you feel?" Instead, she handed me the credit card machine and I had to ask, "how much?" I also never leave yelp reviews but I think this is understandable to share. $100 paid and I left sad and unhappy because I'm 100% still in the same condition I came in. read more

I made 2 more appointments because I felt so comfortable and the price is very fair - don't forget to leave an appropriate tip ;-)) Just a heads up though - after a long rainy season there is construction in the South Bay and in this building - I'm sure it's only temporary - I put in ear plugs the last time and I think I fell sleep 3 times. Throughout my 2nd and 3rd trimester I've had several massages to help with the growing pains of my growing body and can honestly say Monica was the best at prenatal massage, hands down. Now that I'm in the homestretch Monica informed me she can apply more pressure to my muscles to relieve tension, and it was the perfect amount. Not only was it the best prenatal massage I have received, I would argue this was one of the best massages I've ever received... which is saying something considering you have to lay on your side while you're pregnant, which never is as great.
