Carpe Diem has a sister location in NE Minneapolis, yet I find the Como spot more intimate and cozy. There are cold plunges, saunas and of course yoga sessions. Try downloading the app to see normal yoga schedules or seek out specialty classes such as the winter solstice one I took. You don't have to be a member to take advantage of any of these services but if you find yourself coming back, you may consider. There is a full service drink bar serving espresso and other delicious drinks. Furthermore, the retail section has got a lot smaller but there are still beautiful items to find such as candles, clothing, etc. The owners are super pleasant along with all staff members making every visit such a joy. Did my first zoom yoga session this morning with Healing Elements, as I'm soon moving into their neighborhood and hopeful that once COVID is behind us I'll be able to visit in person. It was a gentle flow yoga, great for a Monday morning following a busy weekend, and the instructor (Alex, I believe) was really calming and clear in her guidance. Yoga at Healing Elements is incredibly peaceful! The room is small and cozy. It'll only fit 4-5 yogis comfortably. There are ample mirrors, calming music, a fake fireplace and all the props you could ever need. Typically, real candles light the class. I like the intimacy of this studio. I always leave feeling very refreshed. I also love that they have a lot of times in which classes are offered so I can always find something to fit my schedule. I'm not a huge fan of having to sign up for classes in advance and late notice cancellation penalties but they have to have those policies due to the studio size. read more

I tried Healing Elements tonight for Hatha Yoga and I really liked it. I would describe it as Happy Hippy yoga rather than Melt Your Face Off in a Hot Room yoga - which was exactly what I wanted. They have Vinyasa Flow classes (mostly during the day), but I chose this Wednesday night class specifically because it touted itself as good for all levels, gentle yoga. The class was as described, and I felt challenged without getting overwhelmed. Julie was great about offering modification on poses for both myself and the other class participant, but she also let me self pace which I appreciate. I love yoga, but I'm not great at it. Sometimes in a class with multiple levels, I feel guilty or awkward if the instructor "dumbs it down" too much in attempt to be considerate. I don't want to hold back anyone else's practice! Julie definitely didn't make me feel that way. She created a really safe, welcoming environment. I'm so very glad to have them close to home in Northeast Minneapolis. I'm going to go back tomorrow night for Yin Yoga and maybe I'll check out their massages sometime, too! If I had one complaint, it would be that they sell some kind of yoga chocolate in the lobby. I don't need to see that when I'm putting on my shoes! Healing Elements is a great little shop that opened up next to the Mother Earth Gardens in Northeast. The corner of Lowry and Stinson is now one of the most grounded spots (literally and figuratively) in all of the Twin Cities. The yoga classes are nice (see some of the other reviews for more on those, I agree with them completely), so I'll focus more on the more retail-oriented aspects of the store. Healing Elements offers a range of herbal and traditional teas, as well as a variety of espresso drinks. You can get your tea the old-fashioned way, or you can fancy it up and give your tea a dose of steam and treat yourself to a mate or rooibos latte made with organic milk or your preferred alternative. I've had several drinks there now and they are all quite delicious. There is also a small selection of pre-made drinks and mineral waters available if you would prefer something on the cooler side. The owner, Samantha, also has a connection with the Sift Bakery for a selection of gluten-and-dairy-free, locally-made treats that are mouth-wateringly excellent. I had no qualms letting my toddler sneak some of my pear tart while I enjoyed my nicely spicy and not overly-sweet chai latte. I also recommend the maple rooibos latte. Healing Elements also offers a variety of massage therapy services, other alternative medicine options and a host of essential oils and bulk herbs. I love Rebeccas 5:30 vinyasa class. It's my absolute favorite. I have never met a yoga instructor more knowledgeable and poetic. This class will challenge your strength and help you find inner peace. I leave feeling uplifted every time. You will not regret coming here. They also have a lot of other cool amenities. They do massage, tarot, and have an herbal tea bar. The first time I came in here for a massage, I loved it. Healing Elements has a cafe, yoga studio and healing room. They also serve gluten free baked goods. They have pour over coffees, espresso drinks, tea, bulk herbs, Joia soda and kombucha. The massage I got from Bruce was one of the best I've ever had. The yoga is incredible and I actually keep going back for more. More of everything and the atmosphere and energy is so good. Just really peaceful and positive! A great place for healing, indeed! What a wonderful gem to find on my vaca! Came back to my Midwest roots for a reunion, & needed yoga after a long day of (red eye) travel the day before. Lucky for me, Healing Elements was only about 10 mins down the road from where I was staying, so thought I'd give it a try. I do yoga at my local studio in CA 3x a week (& sometimes at home too), so I love & am well familiar with Vinyasa flow. Lauren was a great yogi/leader - it was just myself & one other person at our afternoon class, held in a lovely little studio right off the main area which is calm, aesthetically pleasing, & peace-inducing. It was a very personalized yoga experience, and that made it even more wonderful! The movements, poses, customization, rhythm were just what I needed to get the kinks out. Even Lauren's choices of contemporary music were great. In the shop, there are some wonderful products & teas- Megan was helpful & personable. I scheduled a massage a while back but on the same day within 2 hours I had to cancel. To my dismay the woman who answered the phone began scolding me as if I was in kindergarten and she was my teacher! She said that if it's less than 24 hours and you cancel you still have to pay. None of these policies were made clear to me when I called to schedule my appointment. I listened to this woman go on a tirade for 2 minutes and then ended the call. Also, this same woman has been my yoga instructor and in each class she comes across as pretentious and a show off, which is so uncomfortable especially if you are a beginner. My friend lives by here, and comes here for yoga. It is the cutest little place, with glass containers filled with tea leaves, along with shelves of essential oils. There are sliding barn doors that open into a very small, but cozy, yoga studio. They only accept 5 students max, which makes sense, since that is all the room will hold. There was Kelly and I, a gal with a hurt shoulder, and a mother and her 9 year old son. This duo was about the cutest thing ever. Right before class he said, "I'm so excited, mom!" I was behind them, so I watched the mom smile so happily over at him several times during class. It was a non-heated vinyasa flow, which, although I am used to the heat, still proved to be challenging at times. We did lots of crescent lunges, vinyasas, and airplane poses. I really found myself able to concentrate on the breath. which made for a very relaxing class. After class we each got a mini shoulder massage, and could smell the scent of one of the essential oils from the front room. All in all, very wonderful experience.
