Fun at fly freak!

I absolutely love this studio! All the coaches have been super nice and supportive! I have learned so much about how my body can move all while learning new tricks and poses in the air. I strongly recommend this studio!

I've taken a few different classes with Hayley, and will be checking out the other instructors soon.

Just got done attending a class on zoom with William Prottengeier. You really should investigate…read morethis center and William's classes. Very clear and concise instructional style. Includes philosophical commentary and mind body breath, conceptualizations to help the student go within. Inspiring and humorous. I love his classes and the center.

This is, hands down, one of my favorite yoga experiences…read more I am a yoga person who got into it for the stretching and to compliment my other athletic sports/workouts. Lots of Iyengar yoga in my life. :) I've gone to various instructors, gym yoga classes, yoga focused studios, etc, but this is my absolute favorite. It's not the cheapest yoga experience in the Cities, but I always feel like it's worth every cent. First off, the space. There are two studios, and both are lovely. Well-equipped, quiet, and clean. I feel calmer and more centered just coming into this space. Even in the winter, when everyone has to squeeze in and take off all your layers in the coat room entry! Second, the TEACHERS. I've only had good experiences with the various teachers I've had. There's definitely a range-- some teachers appeal more to me than others. But I can always see how the teachers I don't prefer would appeal to someone different than me. The teachers are always very, very good. They are clearly very engaged and working to improve their own teaching methods and styles, and this is one of the places where I feel like the money I spend really pays off. I always felt very listened to, and like the teachers wanted to support ME in my practice. As a fat athletic woman, that's sometimes not always the vibe I get, yk? Finally, the classes! I love that this place distinguishes what kinds of styles and focuses the classes have, and even when I go to the same class week after week, it's always a little different. I feel like there's a wider variety of styles and focuses here than I typically find. It's really helped me put my finger on and articulate what I do and don't want at different times. I would say it's more yoga focused than fitness yoga focused, generally. If you're looking for fitness yoga you might be disappointed. Other notes: Parking is limited, but the studio is directly on the 21 bus route and has places to lock up a bike.

Green Lotus Yoga & Healing Center

No reviews yet? Crazy!…read more I am a big fan of Green Lotus Yoga! I moved from Seattle in July and had a yoga center that I absolutely adored. I tried a few different centers here in the Twin Cities and none of them were what I was looking for. Too corporate, too focused on the calorie burning part of yoga, too routine, or just too damn hot! And then Green Lotus opened up. Its yoga as it should be, holistically focused, welcoming to all bodies and abilities, and the classes are variable. I haven't tried any of their healing services yet, but am very excited to! They have many different class packages and one that includes a massage or other service each month. Overall; great for yoga and I love that there are many other services to try. I will definitely be a long time patron!

The treatment merry Beth has been giving to the massage therapists, reiki healers, and astrologers…read moreneeds to be better. Who asks for pictures and doesn't advertise the person at all? Even on their social media? They were really eager to get rid of me off of their website as well. No notice, no notice that even my schedule access would be revoked, there was promise of me returning once I feel better from this medical condition that I had where I couldn't even finish a 60 minute massage, and then come to find out that is no longer viable because they filled up my room and no longer have any need for any of my services anymore. Directly contradicting what was originally textually agreed to. This is severely disappointing. I see the reply from merry Beth to my comment and want to point out there was not an adequate amount of time for me being away. They did not give me 90 days per my contract and decided to fill my room and choose someone else while I was recovering without letting me know they were going to go ahead and do this. If I was unable to fulfill my contract they could have talked to me to see what we can do. And they chose to not do that and not offer me another contract. Thank you for taking the time to read. Again, severely disappointed.

I am deeply sad to be writing this, as I have been an avid goer of their Sunday 9:30am hot yoga…read moreclass for the past year or so. I absolutely love the class, the instructors, and the community MLPS Yoga has to offer. I love that we go through each position twice and the fact that this is a longer class than most, at 90min. I would rate it 5 stars in all of those aspects. But I have decided to no longer attend here (despite having 5 classes left on my package) as the classes are too crowded. Just to re-emphasize, They are EXTREMELY overcrowded. To the point where our mats are touching on either side and the sweat from another person has actually seeped into my mat (and I had to get a new one because I was so grossed out). Another time, we were so close together, a lady actually scratched me with her toenail (). We're not able to perform certain movements properly, like full locust pose, because there isn't enough space to fully extend our arms without hitting the person next to us. The standing separate leg stretching pose is also uncomfortable since when I bend forward, I'm uncomfortably close to the person in front of me due to how tightly we're packed together. I couldn't even relax in Savasana during my last class because every time the person next to me turned, she rolled onto my mat. I kept having to wait for her to move off before I could lie down. Understandably, their Sunday 9:30am class may be their most popular. I counted 35 people (not including the instructor) in my last class. I think their best option is either to limit their class size to a reasonable amount and create an earlier (7:30-9:00am) class option, for the people who still like to enjoy their Sunday morning workouts. If we got even like 6 inches between our mats, it would be a great improvement. Again, it pains me to write this as I throughly enjoyed my time here and if things change, I would love to return.

I checked this place out on ClassPass because I was curious about Bikram yoga: a type of hot yoga…read morewhere instead of flowing through a series, you complete 26 set postures 2 times each. This is a VERY different style of your yoga if you're used to Vinyasa flows! They do have a parking lot, though it does get a bit full since it's in the heart of Uptown. They're located in the basement of a shared building: head down the stairs and down the hall! As I entered, the instructor greeted me and showed me the locker rooms and showers. They also have cubbies in the yoga room to put valuables in during class. I could tell that many of the folks here are long time regulars: there was a definite sense of community between them. I could see this plus a different format of yoga being a bit intimidating to outsiders/newbies. The room is TOASTY and like most hot yoga studios, a little sweaty aroma-ed. The instructor stands on a stool at the front of the mirrored studio and calls out the positions - typically you do twice in a row then move onto the next pose. It's definitely more focused on expanding those poses over time rather than a heart-racing workout, so I didn't feel overheated but still got a good sweat out. Most folks stayed in shavasana for several minutes after class. I really liked the instructor and if you're a yogi, it's worth trying out Bikram to see if it's for you! It's not for me, but a great way to mix it up.
