It had rained all week, but when Saturday came, the skies parted and it was 75 degrees. My wife and I got married in a grassy field, deep in the heart of Federation Forest at the foot of Crystal Mountain. The day was perfect: everything was delivered on time, family and friends helped us set up everything, and we were surrounded by 200 of our closest friends and family. We had recruited Isaac to DJ our wedding, but had no idea what to expect from a DJ. Will we have to come up with a song list ourselves? Will the music be appropriate for kids, the college crowd, and grandparents? Will it get people out of their seat and dancing? What's a mixer? After a few short phone calls, Isaac had everything he needed. The day of the wedding came and he promptly arrived to set up his equipment and make sure we were ready to rock. There wasn't a dull moment with Isaac up there. During the wedding the guitarist had great sound as my bride walked down the aisle, each of the pairs of groomsmen and bridesmaids had their songs, and after I kissed my wife, the party started! The music constantly went with the feel of the crowd and kept everyone on their feet. From classics to contemporary, Isaac played a lively set. For us, having a fun wedding was very important. Skip Erickson and HeadSmile Productions went above-and-beyond in order to make our wedding day go smoothly. Skip created a wonderful environment during both the ceremony and the reception. We really wouldn't have changed a thing. His professionalism was top-notch. Wedding days are full of surprises and nothing ever goes according to plan. My wife and I told our guests, 'If you want to see us during the reception, you'll have to find us on the dance floor.' Finding a DJ was one of the most difficult tasks for us throughout the planning process, until we met Skip. His answers to our questions were always 'Yes' and 'We can make it happen however you want.' That level of calmness and appreciation for our music tastes shouldn't be undersold - Skip let us put as many songs on our 'must-play' list as we wanted, while also taking charge when we said 'DJ's choice during social hour, with some cool 80's power love ballads.' Throughout the night we had people of all ages hitting the dance floor, exclaiming how fun the music was, and generally having a great time. Something I think is super important - Skip has the ability to re-invigorate a party. In a past life, I was a mobile dj / club dj for 10 years in Illinois that was booked every Friday / Saturday / Sunday night for a long time. For my wedding, all I wanted was someone who would play the genres I wanted to hear (90's hip hop and R&B / disco ) AND play a few of their own favorite tracks to surprise me while on the dance floor. I had my wedding in October 19, 2013 and was fortunate to have Isaac as my DJ. I heard good things about him through "word of mouth." I interviewed him via phone and in person and was impressed with his knowledge of music, his business and his professionalism. Isaac was very easy to get a hold of and a pleasure to work with.
