Came here through the drive-thru yesterday to try it and the iced vanilla latte with oat milk and iced vanilla rush were awesome. Drive thru staff was very kind. Everything was so great we decided to get it again today but paid a visit inside. Iced vanilla latte still amazing and my boyfriend got the honey rush which was also good. Today we also tried their burritos (The Gobbler and The Chief). Only suggestion I can think of would be to have a hot sauce bottle or 2 at the grab-n-go bar. Would've made the burritos that much better for the spicy lovers. Staff was kind. Vibe of the inside is cute and lots to look at on their walls. Can buy the artwork off the wall if you'd like! Was given a punch card (buy 10 drinks, get 1 free), which we will definitely be using. Not only do they always have some amazing seasonal drinks that they rotate out, but their normal drinks are also amazing! They roast their own coffee in house, sometimes you can see them roasting in the window as you grab your drink. Every single person that works in here is sweet as can be, but Theo has to be one of my favorites! Never disappointed whether I go to the Briarcliff location or this one. Some of the best options of coffee and matcha around, along with many tea options for purchase. I don't usually like to leave reviews that are negative, but I have tried this place multiple times and just don't understand the hype. How can a business fix something if they don't know it's broken. Location is so perfect for me to frequent more often, but I tend to drive past due to past experiences. Walked in Monday midday for a treat, only to be ignored for several minutes. A quick hi can go a long way if busy, yet they weren't what I'd even call busy. Ordered the special Winter coffee from the menu, which sounded delicious. It was not. We cannot figure out what they do to make it taste so bitter. It almost tastes burnt. With very little actual flavor. We sat in the dining area for a bit, which is cute with the photography and artwork, both of which I like to diddle in myself. Yet, it's missing a cozy vibe. There is plenty of cool merchandise you can purchase on the side walls, but that doesn't sound appealing if the coffee is lacking. We have in the past tried the baked goods also, but they were dry and didn't taste fresh, so we didn't order them this round. Finally I find another coffee place so comfy and quiet enough to sit and enjoy the sip! I didn't realize I've been here. The first time I was introduced here it was during the COVID shutdown era. The take out coffee was great, but then I forgot out this place until today. I came in around lunchtime on Friday. This time here is perfect. The lighting, the music, the noice level, the seating, and the space atmosphere are all perfect for studying, for conversation (the voice volume shows respect to other costumers) or just like me enjoy my "me time" using smart devices, lol. They roast their coffee in house, so sometimes the machine working sound can be heard. But that explains why they have such great quality coffee. They also have variety of tea options! However, their pastries section is not the best. The pastries items are pretty much the same as those provided by big supplier. I would recommend this place for their high quality coffee! read more

I think this is a "coffee shop that took over a Mexican restaurant", type of situation. And I'm here for it. I love that they have a drive-thru, always makes mornings more convenient. But today I decided to stop in. First off I was greeted by the sweetest barista. Customer service is definitely on point as she was patient kind made recommendations and answered my questions. I was directed to try the fall menu, on which everything sounded amazing! I ended up getting the Harvest Moon matcha which has vanilla and pumpkin spice. I also got a small 8 oz hot orange cardamom latte. The vibe inside is very chill. It's a small space but they've made use of every corner with sale retail space, art, photos and some plants lining the back wall. Living downtown, it was a smidge out of the way, but once I found it I headed there to study weekly. Easy to park, comfortable seating, plenty of outlets, an entire wall of loose leaf tea to try - along with their espresso specialties, AND a view of downtown KC. It's the perfect place to study all day or meet up with a friend on their patio. Not to mention, a really nice crowd of people in my experience - both staff and customers alike. Was visiting hometown KC to care for a family member and move them back to Portland, OR. In PDX you can't throw a stone with out hitting a coffee roaster that delivers exceptional espresso and other coffee drinks. Headrush Roasters' beans are on par with or exceed the quality of the roasters near my work in downtown Portland. Their roasting process (I think fluid/ convection roasted like an air popper) creates a superior roast, free of the off-putting burnt flavors you can get from drum-roasted beans. Also had the pleasure of meeting Eric, the co-owner. He's enthusiastic about roasting, and he has an exhaustive knowledge of regional coffee beans and beverages. What a disappointment! The reviews implied that this place served good coffee. Traveled 20 minutes to the shop in Gladstone. Ordered three coffees, a pumpkin head latte that was lukewarm, a cappuccino that tasted like lukewarm water and a dirty chai that also tasted like lukewarm water. Had the gal remake the chai supposedly adding more expresso and making it hotter. She did make it hotter but there was NO better coffee taste. Did not bother to have her remake it a third time and just threw it away on my way out the door. The pastries were in a dingy case and VERY limited. I dragged my family members to this place and we all were shocked that it had good reviews! Ended up just going to the Starbucks in the nearby grocery store for a better drink! read more

I have been driving up and down North Oak Trafficway for work the past several months and could not wait for this place to open. I finally got to try out this nifty little drive thru coffee place and WOW it was great. I got a medium raspberry mocha and it was delish. The service was wonderful and the people working there were kind and helpful. It is a family run business. I will be going back not just because the name is so cool, but the coffee beverages are excellent. They also had a sign that said they had waffles inside. Going to have to try the waffles. As Colby C said in his review, the menu of espresso based drinks is unique. I almost tried the Sunset Rush and hope to do that on my next trip through. I am so glad there are options for coffee in the Northland and Headrush is a great addition to the coffee scene in KC. read more

Drove 7,600 miles around the country - was craving some great "mountain" coffee NOT the burnt Starbucks experience!! I was surprised to find the best coffee in my 42 days journey here in KC. Their "Indian monsoon" was full of body and low acidity - for a fun coffee variation their maple lavender latte was also a hit (yeah I know - not exactly the "mountain coffee" - but it was a tasty variation) Service was awesome and very knowledgeable about coffee!
