Reminds me of Kontrol Kutz in Miami (Allapatah neighborhood) Salsa music blasting, the barbers talking about what lady action their customers may or may not have had over the weekend (in Spanish) haha I remember my barber asking a guy waiting "Pero un tipo como tu que trabaja en la calle, si tu ves a un tigre vacano en fila, tu le cobras entrada??" Funny just to listen to the conversations here LOL Granted, it helps you know some Espanol but it is a fun place to get your hair cut if you are Cubano like myself, or got that Caribbean background or just love the game of beisbol / the O's in general. Every recent Domincan Orioles player I can think of has their jersey autographed on the wall here, with a photo of them getting their hair cut here... Sosa, Vlad, Felix Pie, Daniel Carbrera, Ramon Hernandez... there were a few others too that I'm forgetting.. A little display case of pro bats as well as super cool..i think some game used batting gloves are here too.... About the haircut, it was on point. No complaints. $23 for the haircut + the shave with the knife too was a solid price. And it was the best haircut I've had in the city personally, right around the corner from where my wife gets her lady grooming done, so super convenient for me! Half way through my haircut my barber took a break to briefly dance some salsa with one of the kids waiting for his cut lol.. hilarious... I believe the song went "pero esa mujer no es tan pura, porque a tenido 4 esposos..." hahahaha * Cash Only just fyi*

Great haircuts in a barber-owned shop in Old Ellicott City!…read more I've been coming to OEC Barbers on Main since I found it over 5 years ago, following these folks when they moved from a little further up Main Street in Ellicott City MD. Once again, I delayed my cut way past a civilized look (April 2026). They didn't chide me, and in fact they fit me in when i called with just a few days to spare before a family event! I left happy and good-looking :-). And they let me grab a to-go cold beer from their refreshment-stocked fridge. They tend towards old-school brews, so I got a Natty Boh. They have a small comfortable waiting room, though I have never had to wait later than my appointment time. Free parking on Main Street can be a little tight. There's the free public parking Lot E a few minutes away behind the buildings across the street, and a very large free public parking Lot D behind the next-door Mexican restaurant. The parking next to OEC Barbers belongs to that restaurant, so it's a good idea to get permission from them if you use a space there, but i've only done that when I couldn't easily walk because of a sprain. These two barbers, Nick & Tonya, run their own little shop. They are always welcoming to both adults and kids. Conversation is lively, if you want to ćhat, and quiet if you dont. I have been happy with each and every cut.

The barbers are very friendly, and the shop although small is neat and clean. My first visit I chose Josh at random to cut my hair, which proved to be an excellent decision. He is very courteous and professional. Josh is meticulous in cutting my hair and makes sure that I am satisfied with my haircut. I was a walk in the first two times that I visited the shop, and was able to get Josh's service both times. He gave me his phone number at my last visit so that we could schedule service times that would be covenient for both of us, He will be my barber of choice for as long as possible, however I would be comfortable having any of the barbers at Carribean barbers cutting my hair, I highly recommend Carribean barbers to anyone looking for good service.
