What a fun place! I was visiting Baltimore and needed to get some gifts for friends back home, and I found some wonderful items that made my recipients very happy. In addition to the three soaps I bought (Haulin' Oats was a particular favorite), I got a really cute dish towel, an Old Bay sticker, and some excellent Mouth Party caramels, which I'm now addicted to. The owners host a night, market and brunch on occasion where they invite the community to experience other vendors and creative food options. I first met the owners when they were doing community pop-up events at the local garage inside of R House as well as local events in nearby counties. I'm always greeted with a smile whenever I step foot inside. Plus it always feels good to shop local. I always have to practice restraint when I go because I badly want to just start grabbing a bit of everything. They have it all! From bar soaps, to t-shirts, to bath/shower bombs. They even have treats for your furry friends. My recent visit led me to purchase some Mango Shea Butter. The young lady told me that the body creams aren't usually sold on the floor but she was more than happy to go in the back and grab some. She came out with 4 different kinds. The staff who greeted me was also super friendly and explained the various parts of the store, but at the same time, let me do my thing and shop independently. They literally have everything you need for self care, from soaps, bath bombs, and shower steamers to beard oil, candles, and shaving cream. They are also palm oil free and dedicated to helping everyone bathe responsibly, which I love! This time, I bought Alpine For You and Tobacco Bay candles, shower steamers, and a citrus and sage sugar scrub. The candles smell great and burn so evenly. I am SO happy I discovered this place! I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years and always drive past this corner of Remington since it's right of the 28th street exit. I only noticed it this past year after they did some beautification of the exterior and it definitely caught my eye! I stopped by on an afternoon and immediately upon entering I was greeted by incredible smells. The inside of the store is clean, organized, and super cute. I love the bright, quirky, wallpaper on the back wall too. The staff is really helpful and will put you in the right direction of whatever you're looking for. They have everything you could ever want from similar soaps stores that rhyme with "Blush" - only better since it's locally made. Bar soaps, shampoo and conditioner soaps, bath bombs, candles, and more! I bought two different bath bombs and was really happy with both of them. They smelled amazing, looked really beautiful in the tub, and made my skin super soft! I stopped by Mount Royal Soaps for Remington Rendezvous last week (on the first Thursday of the month, many shops and restaurants in Remington offer discounts and specials), and I'm so glad I finally stopped in. Yes, they sell soaps, but also lotions, scrubs, bath bombs, bath accessories, some home accessories. For a small store, it really carries some great products. I picked up a candle, some matches, some food huggers (for saving covering your half lemons or have avocados in the fridge), and a cactus seed starter. Random but fun! I'm glad I know this is here. When we finally move into the house we've been renovating for 8 months, I'm stopping in for 100 bath products (a bath tub for the first time in 2 years). I truly enjoyed coming here. The outside of the place is super cute and attractive. They really took a creative element and thought outside of the box. The tub with the greenery on the curb was super cute to me. The bright and vibrant colors definitely make it stand out and want people to to stop by and check it out. I am glad that I chose to stop by during the 410 Day. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in. They have more than just soaps just so you know and things for kids as well and even candy. In the middle of the store there is a row of soaps which match on either side. There is also a sink where you can test some of the scrubs before you try. But make sure you are using the sample soaps and not opening up a new one. There are gifts, toys, lip, hair, lotions and other beauty products for you to purchase for yourself or a gift for others. I LOVE Mount Royal Soaps and am a frequent customer! They have an incredible selection of skincare products and home goods, all through the lens of sustainability. To be fair, I haven't actually stepped foot in this store - I typically pick up their products when they're set up at markets and they've stopped foot traffic inside due to the pandemic - but they truly make the most wonderful soaps and scrubs. I don't know that I've met a scent of theirs that I didn't like but Clean Slate, Thrilla in Vanilla, and Good God Lemon are stand outs for me as far as soaps go while the Lime and Bergamot sugar scrub can't be beat. But taking a step back, what makes me love this business even more is what they stand for. They're focused on natural and sustainable ingredients going into their products, they're local - often partnering with other local businesses to support each other, and lastly, when COVID first hit our state, they pivoted quickly to develop much needed hand sanitizer for our local first responders. This place is amazing - I was looking for locally-made soaps and first came across them at the Fell's Point farmer's market last year. I bought some of their bar soap and have been using their products ever since. I have sensitive skin and have never had issues with any of their products (I've since started using their hand soap as well). From a sustainability front, they offer growlers of their hand soap to provide plastic-free refills (I use the lemon scent) and their soap bars are plastic-free as well. Their candles are also *fabulous*, both in terms of scent and name. I'm currently burning the Good God, Lemon (love a good 30 Rock reference) and have the Vaxed and Waxed up next (an excellent summer motto).
