The oils are nice, nothing to write home about. The names very clever. The location expensive and so are the prices to pay for the rent. The staff fairly knowledgeable. There is an insular, monied , clubby feel to the place. If looking for that it's your scene. It wasn't ours. We are both aromatherapist s and enjoy sharing our knowledge. Here it was more a one way street of so called " experts". We have been practicing and teaching aromatherapy courses for more the 30 years each and would have enjoyed a chat. I first came across this store during a Yelp event. It's a hidden gem tucked away in hampden and honestly if you weren't looking or know about this place sadly it'd be a little hard to find. However, once you find it, it is truly an amazing spot. The owners are super friendly and so knowledgeable about all of your needs! If you have any ailments or have anything simple like wanting to find something to relax you they have it! They also customize based on personal wants and needs and take pride in their work! I have been going to SoBo for years!! I love all of their products. I love that all the products are made with good quality essential oils for the fragrance, no harsh chemicals, or additives. Good clean products. The essential oils give every product a nice light pleasing scent, not a chemicalized perfume smell. Also a little bit goes a long way, so the items will last you a while. Pretty Pu$$y Love Dust Love the name, it is what drew me to the product. I use this powder for under the tig-ole-bitties. Keeps the area nice and dry, and no cakiness when I sweat. Nice light scent. I've even used the "Chilly Willy Dust". In the summer the mint in the powder is a nice refreshing touch, and gives a nice cool to the skin. Sugar scrub Love how soft my hands are after I use this. Aloe Cucumber Serum Love the light scent, just like cucumbers. It's for sensitive skin, which I figured would be a good way to ease into serum usage. So far so good. I'm new to serum use so the only new thing I noticed is my face looks a little more plump. Not in a fat way, more healthy and fuller. I felt like my skin was a bit sunken and this seems to have helped with that. Probably have my face the moisture it was obviously missing. Lavender Body butter The smell alone is heaven. Nice and thick, keeps my hand moisturized. I use this after being at work with the harsh dry soap we use. Great replenisher to my hands. Calm your Ass Down I LOVE the name! I use this at night before bed. That way the magnesium in it gives me an extra oomph for a restful sleep. Smells fantastic! Don't let the name scare you off it is fabulous. Foot cream (I forgot the name ‍) It's working great on my dry feet. Even softens the heel very nicely. I can't say enough great things about SoBo, definitely a great shop. First off, the store smells amazing. The store looks soothing -- random but if you saw it, it makes sense. It's not minimalist but it's not maximalist. The store is small but the doors are open to ventilate the space. The owner was really friendly. I saw the soaps and already knew what I wanted so I didn't interact with her much. She did let me know that you can order custom scents. The bars smell amazing. Clearly lavender is my favorite scent because all of these have lavender in them. I couldn't really smell the packaged soaps before purchasing it so I did blindly buy them. Reflecting back, I should've bought another "calm your a** down soap. It smells magical, really. I also would've gotten the orange-patchouli bar soap as well. No complaints. It is higher on the price side but it's a small biz. read more

SoBotanical is the best aromatherapy bar I've ever visited. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about essential oils and can quickly create a personalized blend just for you. One of my favorite purchases is the car and house spray. Just a little bit leaves a fragrant fresh scent for hours. The bath bombs, soaps and lotions are all made in house so you know they are all natural, unlike the products from big box stores. Just took a deep relaxing breath of lavender, and thought I should offer a review about Sobotanical where I got it. I have been going there for about ten years now and can definitely say the products are top-notch. It's cool to know that every ingredient they use is natural. I especially like the Thieves Oil and Head Ease blends they offer. One helps keep me healthy, and the other offers relief when I over-indulge! Definitely check it out next time you are in Federal Hill. Parking isn't always easy though, so personally, I now get most of my products from them online. Good news . . . I was fortunate enough to visit their new digs on 11/02/2012. Loved it! Personally, I would not refer to it as a warehouse. It would appear that they have put some effort into creating an intimate, yet welcoming, ambiance. The variety of their essential oils is extensive, and their quality--stellar.
