Getting show dogs ready for the show ring can be a daunting task. They have to be groomed to breed standard. Kris has never disappointed. If I could give this place 0 I would! They are so rude! Will never return. Customer service is poorly and they have hurt my puppy by cutting one of his paws and said it was a minor scratch but my pup limped on his paw for days. It's a deep cut and all they offered was $5 off next service. So I went back and decided to give them another chance and they wanted to charge me extra for combing out the matted area. So I reminded them they cut his paw and would be taking him elsewhere. So they quickly gave me the discount and didn't charge me (because he wasn't matted) Today was the last straw I asked for Kristen to be the groomer and they gave me Kris. She shaved my dogs hair some areas are shorted than the other. I called to ask why she shaved the top part of his hair and Insisted that my dog was matted. Have been taking our family's most prized dogs to this groomer for over 18 years. Even when they were in their previous location near the 10 freeway we found them great. The last two experiences have been a complete disappointment. The loud fan and noise do upset the sweet gentle dog, with short hair that does not need cutting or a trim, which we understand. But when I receive a bill that has me paying with tip over a hundred dollars there is something wrong. This dog has short hair is not getting a special cut and we ask for no special treatment and none were suggested when the dog was dropped off for a wash. If the dog had matted hair was difficult to handle or presented a problem, which we have never been informed of since that has not happen. This grooming service may work for the special needs that require a special cut. The last time we brought the dog home, we fished out of her ear a couple days later a cotton swab. They said to reduce her hearing noises. We will never recommend the establishment to any real pet lover, who wants good work at a reasonable price. Their answer when questioned about the price was "We have to pay for our supplies too" Truly a disappointing experience after many years. read more

I really like this place. First of all, I appreciate that they have the tables up front so the owners can see their dogs getting groomed - no hidden, behind the door sort of thing. Upon seeing Tracy (the groomer), our dog wagged her tail so we felt good leaving her with somebody that she felt comfortable with. Our dog is a Great Pyrenees with a LOT of fur, and Tracy did an awesome job. She is now officially our go-to groomer! Also, dogs that are already groomed get to "hang out" together in the front area while other dogs are get groomed. I like the fact they get to socialize and relax instead of being caged up. 4 paws and 2 thumbs up! read more

This place does not want to work to groom your dog at all. If there is the slightest bit to comb out, they bill you an OUTRAGEOUS amount. If you go here, make sure your dog is groomed BEFORE you get here because they will charge you $15 extra for "matts" that they INVENT, on top of the price they already charge. Also...if you LIKE your dog to have long hair, they talk you into a cut so they don't have to work as hard. Not going here anymore. read more

Well.. I saw reviews for this groomer and they sounded good. Took my Shih Tzu on Saturday to be groomed, looked bad when I picked him up paid 62.00 dollars only to have to take him to another groomers on Monday which cost me another 45.00 to fix what she didn't cut or finish!! The groomer I took him to today said, it was a chopped up mess and not complete!!! So Ive spent 107.00 as of now and I'm extremely upset to say the least. We have been taking our very large Great Dane once a month for years now and I'm pretty sure she is one of their more stubborn clients ha! Macy does not like to leave our side so she tends to be difficult when we first arrive. Kris and the rest of her staff are always patient and kind and Macy always comes out happy and clean. They always take extra care to get her ears super clean and her nails the right length. If you have a large dog I would highly recommend coming here as they are well equipped for large dogs and they LOVE them like they are their own. I have never had a dog that required grooming before so when my new puppy needed a hair cut I decided to try Head to Tail Grooming. They did a decent job, however, the fur was cut a little too long and she will be needing another groom before too long. The reason I gave one star is that they left my puppy in a crate for three hours before getting to her despite the fact that I had an appointment. I will not be going back. When I made the appointment I informed the person who answered the phone that this would be her first visit at your salon, although she had been groomed before at another salon without any problems. This salon I closer to my home than the previous one and had good reviews, so I thought that I would give it a try. Nothing was ever mentioned about new puppy orientation. And yes, I am sure that I am leaving a review for the correct salon: Head to Tails grooming on the corner of Outer High Way and Alta Vista. I had a 10:00 appointment and she wasn't ready to go until 2:00. When I picked her up she peed all over me due to being left in a crate without a potty break for so long. When I have an appointment I expect my dog to be attended to within a reasonable amount of time, and not be crated for three hours before you can get to her. read more

I've been coming here for a year, but no longer. Third strike happened today. First, I wasn't notified when my dog's groomer left the business until after her hair was cut. I noticed a difference and told them I would have liked to know in advance. They stated they never guarantee groomers. Second, after moving to new store the length of time my dog was there increased. I was originally two to three hours and now It is three to four hours. I stopped taking my dog to the big box store groomers because it was taking way to long and I don't want my dog in a cage that long. So, the receptionist recommended I switch to first dog in on Fridays. Third, I did as receptionist recommended 9:00 on Friday but today she wasn't done until noon. I called and asked why she wasn't done to be told that SIX dogs had 9:00 am appointments and it was first in the door order. Wow. Moving to Friday didn't help. Went to pick her up and excuses, excuses as usual from receptionist. No more. I'll find another certified groomer. Nice job cutting, but dog wait time is too long and receptionist should be replaced. read more

We've taken dogs to Head to Tail from puppies to old-timers, and every stage in between, and I can't speak highly enough of the treatment they've received. These people really do care about the pups that come through the door. With puppies, they acclimate them to the process of grooming with affection and gentleness. With older dogs, they give special attention to their needs. Our dogs absolutely love Head to Tail.
