I contacted CA Builders after one of my front retaining walls was knocked over from the snow storm…read morelast year. I had Chris out for a quote and he was able to facetime and walk through the job site remotely and give an initial bid. I also had him check around the house for any other damage as well as some deck re-enforcements. Chris uncovered quite a bit of dry rot on the backside of the property and it was clear it needed to be addressed asap. Within a week his team had ripped out all the old decking/ledger board/trim and replaced everything up to code. It went so smooth, I also asked him to re-adjust our heavy custom wood doors that have gone out of whack over the years and needed all new weatherstripping. I also had him replace the front light fixtures and build custom replicas of the existing wood mounts. The wall was rebuilt perfectly and looks better than before. I wish I would have done the other side. Overall I was extremely happy with Chris and team, his communication level is A+. He documented everything with photos, texts and calls along the way. The team was on site until completion and everything was wrapped up in a few weeks. My doors are like new again, wall looks great and all the dry rot has been addressed. I'll definitely be using California Builders again.

We paid him as we went and he's been paid in full. This has been a slow process at which one point he went missing in action, he moved his residence and did not notify us nor the city as to where to contact him. After repeated calls (which his phone message is not set up to leave messages), and emails. I had to hunt him down through Instagram and contact his assistant. Do not use him. We had a project consisting of a simple detached 20 x 20 garage, along with converting our attached garage to a family room and bathroom. We have had the city out on inspections and two of them were not signed off because of his errors on the plans. He has been paid in full and we have yet after two years to receive an accurate set of plans, which I have asked him for 10+ times. I don't like to complain, however, I would not want this to happen to anyone else. Horrible experience. I agree with Joe S's comment.
