I never knew the right way to work with my curls, so I constantly fought against them by flat ironing them for every special occasion. Now I wish I had been to Aleka sooner and had my beautiful curls in the photos of special days. I get tons of compliments on her work, and the best part is how confident I feel about styling my own hair now that she's taught me the right way to treat it. She answers all questions with such expertise and understanding and makes her clients feel so comfortable while she educates them. You get to walk away looking incredible and confident that you can handle your hair after the next wash. I can't recommend her enough, even if you can only get in a few months from now, it is so worth the wait to soak up her knowledge and feel taken care of. She really listens to her clients and makes you feel like family. Her warm energy and professionalism are unmatched in my opinion. I won't be going anywhere else for hair cuts as long as I'm living in Columbus!

So I've made my decision, I've been here 3 times now and my final judgement is this place is…read morealright. When I first went here they had a different supply that worked much much better with my hair and I will be forever thankful they gave me those tools. However when I went the first time Aleca did my hair great! It was soft to the touch I had ringlet curls that flowed in every direction. Now though aleca did my hair and whatever product they use now is causing my hair to be crunchy, not soft. So I thought hmm it still looks alright she cut my hair fine. So I go back again and get a different lady because I saw her doing hair and liked how the other girls hair looked. I get to the salon and unfortunately I chose the wrong girl haha my bad. Shana is who I had I think that's her name, she's nice and I think she's good at cutting hair. I gave her inspo of how I wanted my curls to look and unfortunately she did not deliver. I told her you have to manipulate my curls, I wanted them defined and I wanted ringlet curls. My hair is frizzy wavy and curly all in one, I'm mixed. All she did was scrunch my hair, my hair doesn't look curly to me is looks like noodles or an example or prince/Michael Jackson when their hair was scruntched hahaha. But there isn't a single ringlet in my hair even though I get those anyway when my hair is natural. Also my hair came out hard again like the kind of hard you get with gel. I'd like to say I don't hate this place but I haven't been as pleased as the first time.

She loves doing my hair because I am brave and like bold styles but I trust her to tell me if my current interest is actually going to work for me and my head. I have extremely thin hair and through all my different syltyles over the years she has always cut me perfectly and meticulously applied my color. Nothing is worse than having hair color all over the back or your neck and not realizing it! (Especially with some of the colors I have chosen.) I know Jodie keeps up with current hair education too. She's often trying out new products and has always steered me in the right direction for what I need for my type of hair. I drive all the way accross town just to come see Jodie. Her salon is really lovely and clean which is important to me as well! I highly recommend trying out this salon!

But I'm telling you every time I leave my Hairapy time with Jodie, I have a bit of a swagger, feeling...dare I say...beautiful? It's more than the superb cuts she performs, which are the best I have ever had. The beauty i feel when I leave, is as much due to Jodie loving it in to my psyche. There is no discrimination...she treats every client with the same sweet, enthusiastic, creative care. She is in my estimation an artist, and a true gift to the Columbus area.

I got my hair cut by Michelle today, and it went GREAT! Michelle was very patient while communicating with me about my new look, and offered some good advice. She paid great attention to the details, made sure that my hair style looked perfect from each angle. I am more than happy to finally find Michelle to take care of my hair from now on. Why did I choose Michelle? As an Asian, I constantly experienced disappointing results with the high-rating hair salons, and most of my previous hairstylists seemed to ignore the fact that I have a very different hair type. Since I am new to Westerville, I followed Yelp rating and checked out a few local hair salons, including "Bon Cher". Not like other hands-full hairstylists in other salons I visited, Michelle welcomed me immediately upon my arrival, made efforts to squeeze the time from her busy schedule to listened to me. After I raised my concern, she looked at me closely and carefully, summarized the features and problems of my hair. I had to say, she really knew my hair! "Don't worry, I can handle your hair", she smiled with confidence. I knew instantly and instinctually that she could deliver what she promised. And I made the right choice!
