Steampunk Coffee - Iced lattes with oat milk, vegan banana bread in the background.

Still loving everything about this coffee shop! If I were local, this would be my go-to haunt (as…read moreit is, whenever I'm in Edinburgh, I take the train just to come here and then walk the beach). The large interior has an industrial vibe while still feeling warm and welcoming, the courtyard outside is a perfect place to enjoy some sunshine (the upstairs is only open on the weekend). Get a cold brew or an iced latte or an iced Americano with oat milk - it's so good! They also have a few bakery items, including a vegan banana bread that is DELICIOUS (one of the best I've ever had). It's a thick, moist slab loaded with nuts and dried cranberries maybe? There's just something "more" to it that makes it special. I recently bought beans (flavor notes of "jammy" and "honey"; it's SO GOOD), and it seems like I can reuse the canister for a discounted refill the next time I'm here! I believe they even grind them if you want. They also have some really cool merch (tote bags [I own], beanies, shirts, etc). #CoffeeAndSocialSolidarity

We were recommended this spot by our Airbnb hosts and just happened to stumble upon it and remember…read morethe rec. We came to North Berwick from Edinburgh for the day via a very easy 30 min train ride. Steampunk is located in the back of a building on the main street of North Berwick. It is sparsely decorated but the theme seems to be related to bicycles. We stopped in for midday iced lattes and a snack. The lattes were good and I appreciate their to go cups and straws are all paper based. The granola bar we grabbed did not impress me at face value but wow was it delicious. Like chewy granola with some cinnamon added in. It was the perfect sweet pairing to the latte. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here.

Would highly recommend Bon Tea Room for afternoon tea excellent service, delicious sandwiches great…read morechoice, Scones were perfect with jam and cream, and our cakes were amazing such a fabulous choice. Will definitely be back. Thank you Bon for a lovely afternoon.

I can't take the credit for this find - its all down to my friend, Elaine, but I will recommend it…read moreto everyone and anyone I speak to :) I've been here twice now, both times as a treat and it was spectacular. I had worried that I'd built it up in my head and my visit was actually going to be a disappointment. I was wrong! The tea room itself is very small, only 5 or so tables are in it, but it doesnt have a cramped feeling about it at all. Elaine knows the owner from being a regular visitor, but I was instantly welcomed and made to feel at home (she even remebered me from the last visit we had). We ordered then used the time to feed Evie (Elaine's 9 month old daughter) and catch up. All sandwiches are made fresh and there wasn't really a big wait for our afternoon tea to arrive. The cake stand was filled - it was a wonderful sight! Sandwiches, scones, macarons, miniature cupcakes, a chocolate teapot, handmade edible cups and swans. We'd ordered tea, and every teapot comes with its own hand knitted tea cosy on it - ours this time was bee themed. Lynn (the owner) had went out of her way to make our stand 'special' for us as she knew we'd had one previously. We got a top up of tea half way though which was no bother at all. Cake is also included with the tea. There's a selection on home made cakes displayed near the till. We were so full from all the goodies that we got them to take away. I choose the red velvet cheesecake and took it back to Glasgow to share with the hubby - his response was that it was 'decent'. High praise from him :) All in, we spent 90ish mins at Bon and felt right at home, there was no rushing us out the door. Lynn popped passed every so often to chat and see if we needed anything else. I would give this place 6 stars if I could - I love it to bits. I always say to people we need to go to Edinburgh just for this place, I really need to start doing it. It's fabulous.
