The Hayward Historical Society is a local Hayward history museum that features 4 different exhibits. There are two permanent exhibits (History exhibit and children's exhibit) and two that are rotating (the community exhibit and the special exhibit). The history exhibit is filled with tons of old Hayward artifacts, photos, historical excerpts, and replicas of what daily life and activities were life in Hayward back in the day. I was really fascinated by their Hayward Community exhibit and I loved watching snippets of the documentary at the mini movie theater. The children's exhibit is very interactive and features a vintage cash register along with a mini grocery store with fake vegetables and other items for sale. It's a recreation of ancient Hayward civilization and I was impressed with how they were able to incorporate this into a kid's play area. The two rotating exhibits were quite intriguing as well. During the time that I attended, they were displaying both a risqué exhibit and a women's rights exhibit. I thought it was ironic that they displayed both of these exhibits at the same time since they kind of contradicted each other, but I thought that it made for a great juxtaposition. The risqué exhibit was known as their special exhibit and no photos were allowed for this one. Admission is $5 and you can easily spend over an hour exploring the museum in its' entirety. They have a parking lot located behind the building and there's also a small cafe, but of course, so food or drink is allowed while inside. All in all, I really enjoyed learning about the history of Hayward and I encourage anyone to come out and visit to get informed (especially if you're a Hayward local!).

There is nothing called I pay two months, and telling me one of the months are a deposit. Of course they will do anything to take that money. The fine print on their policies is ridiculous. Second Alarm, I had planned a trip called in there always no one to talk to. You have to do any communication through email. Let them know ahead of time that Both children won't be able to attend. They offered me another day for makeup. After two weeks, I had a conflict of schedule due to an emergency. I sent an email requesting help, to have them switch the children to a different day. I get a long email about their policy. And they will NOT do a makeup for them. THEY ENEDED UP TAKING THE MONEY FOR THE CLASS WITHOUT PROVIDING SERVICES. My problem is the kids were going here for 3 month. They learned nothing. THIS PLACE IS ALL ABOUT HOW TO STEAL PARENTS MONEY. They stole the deposit under the umbrella of policies, took they money for the classes I had emailed and said I have emergency, and can't have them make it. Don't recommend this place for parents. We have been to the new pickleball courts lately and if we're lucky, there are open spots, but sometimes people bring their whole crew there and are there for hours. Also, beware of dog poop -- a lot of irresponsible dog owners don't pick up after their dogs so watch where you are walking. This park has potential, it's just people don't respect it enough. There are a lot of options such as: soccer, basketball, picnic areas, tennis, pickleball, a play structure, walking path, etc, but it is not the cleanest park.

It was a well organized family-friendly affair with plenty of tables and seating available for guests. I enjoyed the live entertainment (i.e. a great cultural performance of Azteca/Mexica drumming and dancing), and a DJ playing music through the speakers all evening, including hip hop, dance remixes, latin tunes, 80's hits, and songs like Take on Me by A-ha, Candy Rain by Soul For Real, and Just the Two of Us. Such a great mix! The sound system was pretty good too, the clarity, volume, and bass just right. Food trucks and drink stands offered a range of options, from lumpia to nashville hot chicken, as well as delicious cookies and other desserts. Merchandise vendors selling plants, totes, animal themed items, clothing, jewelry, and more... plenty of pumpkins too (which I think they were giving away for free), along with activities for kids, which was fitting with halloween less than 2 weeks away. I picked up a lovely green crochet bag from "The Journey of Art" arts and crafts shop, and a pastry from WhatCoffee & Bakery's food booth. This flaky savory treat, made up of mushrooms and melted cheese, was super satisfying. It was great to discover a new business I didn't realize has an existing brick and mortar location near my hometown (in Santa Clara). Multiple bins for trash, recycling, and compost were conveniently spaced out throughout the premises. In addition, the porta potties were clean and well stocked, without any lines. Though nothing too exciting about this night market, there was certainly lots to appreciate and no admission fee.
