Visiting family in the area, the wife and I saw the menu and took a chance. Haymaker tries really hard to be.....a brew house?......a pub?......a sports bar?......a bbq place? We couldn't figure it out. Anyway, we decided to try the bbq. Our server raved about the smoking process, and really made sure that we knew the meats were smoked for hours and hours. Ok. We got the fried pickle spears and cornbread to start. Pickle spears, not bad. Cornbread, warm cardboard. For the meals; I got the brisket and smoked chicken. The wife got the ribs and pulled pork. We traded and shared so we both got to try them all. The meats were dry as fuck, and none of them had any flavor. They over cooked all of it. Bummer. The bbq sauce saved me from thinking I was chewing on toilet paper. Sides (mac and cheese and beans) weren't much better. We were disappointed. We should have gotten the burgers. Very cool, casual place to hang out. Very chill, comfortable ambiance and a kick ass menu! Their drink selection is great, the menu is huge, and almost everything I've eaten here has been fantastic. Great loyalty program as well. Love the biscuits and gravy, ribs, and buffalo chicken sandwich. I could go without the southern chicken sandwich and the baked mac. The cinnamon roll has great flavor but was dry. Overall a fantastic choice for a quiet dinner out or if you want to sit at the bar and watch some tv. Kid friendly, too! read more

Great new location. Been coming to this restaurant for years but I'm sad to say I had one of the worst meals tonight. My go to is their ribs. Well tonight what they served me was a grisly, inedible, over cooked, piece of shoe leather. It was so hard it was difficult to cut with a knife. The service was also not up to par either. Should have had a clue something was amiss when I ordered an unsweet black iced tea and it came out sweet. The server then explained after they pour the tea they add a syrup to it. Clueless. Horrific. To start, it took 15 minutes to get two drinks at the bar while waiting for a table. The drinks were not good, too much sugar. Bartender seemed lost and all equipment was all over the bar and not cleaned between drinks. Food was horrible. Pulled pork and chopped brisket sandwiches. Fatty meat, so great that the bottom bun was soaked. You have no right to call this barbecue. Placing sauce on it does not make it so. The batter for the onions rings was very heavy. Took 45 minutes to get two sandwiches where the meat was already cooked. It was not that busy. This was recommended by Cibola and they need to reevaluate their recommendations read more

We came in very late, they closed at 9. They were all very nice and we order the Arizona burger and chicken tenders. The sides were the salt and pepper fries and the sweet potato fries. Really disappointed in my visit to haymaker today, I have been there a few times before and it was a solid 3 1/2. But today it definitely earned a 2. Service was just OK, nothing terrible, just not super attentive and the waitress was away from our table quite a bit without checking in. The real problem was the food. I ordered the avocado toast which was literally a piece of bread with a smashed avocado and some olive oil drizzled on top and two eggs on the side. I had to send my eggs Benedict back three times. I had requested the whites to be cooked and not runny. After three times I gave up. They said they only make them one way and can't give the Cook special orders. I don't know too many people that like to eat their poached eggs with the whites running all over the place, seems very weird.
