The food was excellent - ordered Bhindi and got it made spicy - awesome! Maa ki daal spicy version was also really good. Roti was fine. We were here after work with a large group and the service did not meet the image it gives. Understanding our group was large but the food didn't come out coordinated. Their lamb had mentioned that there is a 25min wait.. but I would expect them to leverage appetizer time to cook it and coordinate with the rest of the meal. Two of our party got their meal as the rest of us were finishing. When we all finished dinner, we realized another one of our coworker was just getting his dinner (fish)! At an establishment like this, I would expect better. The food itself was mediocre at best. Again, I'm South Asian so I have high standards for Indian food.

Around the area, you can find several similar Nepalese cuisine and hookah lounges on the block. I just picked this one randomly and also because they had a nice interior. I had dinner around 6pm and the place was quiet and not crowded yet. The service was great, as I was greeted by two friendly servers from the door to the table. There was a larger party who sat behind me, and it seemed like a lot of locals eat there. There were several customers who seemed to be regulars. The wait time was the food was not long at all and costs of the dinner was fair. The food was amazing and flavorful, as most Nepali food are rich in flavor and spice. Although, I am not Nepali, the taste are very similar to my Nepali friend's homemade food, so quite authentic to me.

The wait staff was basically not there. They didn't tell us the whole group ordered off just one board so we all were adding things. The boards themselves were clunky. Dishoom pays homage to the food of Bombay, and I was thrilled that they serve such a large and extensive breakfast menu! The restaurant is huge and beautiful - with lots of art deco touches! The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant just had great vibes - even the smell of the place (incense mixing with their delicious food) was great. I had their Kejriwal (two fried eggs on chilli cheese toast - "a modern favourite of the Willingdon Club in Tardeo, reputedly named for the member who kept asking for the dish, since he was not allowed eggs at home"), which was delicious. My husband had their bacon & egg naan roll with a side of masala beans, which he loved (he's even been trying to recreate the beans at home since we got back from London). With a large menu of other options and tons of beverage options (from alcoholic brunch options to chai to iced coffee), they have everything you could want for a great breakfast. We had a great breakfast at this Kensington location of Dishoom. I'd happily return to one of their other locations and have any meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Clearly feeling overwhelmed. Placed an online order that was projected to be ready at 8:10 pm. I got there at about 8:15pm and the woman that greeted me was pretty calm cool and collected even though the place was JAM PACKED- with several people waiting outside to pick up delivery orders or waiting to be seated. She was multitasking for sure- taking orders at tables, dealing with Uber Eats folks, as well as people coming in for a table, and me picking up my online order. It was a bit of chaos but she said to give her 2 mins. I said I'll give you 5 trying to be cool because she was working hard. About 13 mins later a young woman (20s or so) came over and asked me to step outside. I politely told her 'that woman' (pointed in the nice lady's direction) said I could wait here, so I'd rather stay here to get my order. Based on her facial expression and the fact that she went to another employee to obviously complain about me - I wasn't going to budge - and get sent outside to be forgotten about. My order was given to me by the nice woman about 8:45pm- 35 mins after the time stated online. A bit aggravating for sure but thanked the nice lady for being so nice. Speaking from my personal and professional experience people can generally forgive a lot of things if the person they are dealing with is nice. All that to let you know that my family and I thought the food was pretty darn good. I will definitely get the chicken wings again as they were cooked perfectly and with just the right amount of crispness to them.
