The service is five stars, absolutely. I got the hake and my husband got steak. We got a few sides like the asparagus, potatoes, and sourdough bread. All of our dishes were pretty good. Went in here for dessert and the hostess said they were completely booked. It was 5:30pm on a Wednesday and most tables were empty. She suggested eating at the bar, I said we would only be 30 minutes and she finally got us a table. Wow, talk about uninviting. Our server was friendly. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream and an Irish coffee. They weren't that generous with the clotted cream but the dessert was good nonetheless. We came with family. The people are super friendly and kind. We had a bouncy table and they were able to accommodate us to another table. The menu options are very good. From oysters, to scollops and lobster to Britain grass fed steaks. We had chateaubriand and rib eye steaks. Both are aged and tasted superb. My only feedback is Chateaubriand was a bit overcooked for medium rare. But the rib eye steaks were spot on, tender juicy and nothing overpowering the flavor in its own way. We liked it so much we ordered another one. They cut to pupu style for family to share. Jasmin tea is impressive, floral and balanced. After a long journey from Honolulu, having this authentic jasmine team helped me relax 。 We finished the dinner with the sticky toffee pudding. It's phenomenal because instead of chasing for sugar sweeteners like most of the restaurant, this actually has a meaningful texture. The clotted cream balanced the rich lava chocolate toffee in a hint of lingering black sugar. The texture is divine between silky smooth and not so cake like not so pudding like mix. Not sure why it's named after sticky. I love it regardless. I'm in loss of word. I don't usually like desert but this was an exceptional work of art. My only feedback is the background music may require some attention, is a bit of loud, confusing for necessity, out of rhythm and counterintuitive to the intimate deemed lighting ambient and the focused fine dining theme. What a fabulous dinner! We stumbled in here after being turned away from a few places because we didn't have reservations. They were so accommodating! The service was great. We had an Irish guy who knew the menu and was helpful in guiding our order. The drinks were amazing as well. And the food. THE FOOD!!!!!! It was truly stellar. The steaks and chops were perfectly cooked, the sides were also great and good portions. The baked sweet potato was an unexpected surprise. Very tasty, and im not typically a sweet potato fan. I ordered the Sunday Roast and my wife ordered the filet mignon with a couple veggie sides. All was excellent. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was friendly and helpful offering recommendations as well. Quick service. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing with its grand interior. Had a lovely Sunday roast meal here, and both my friend and I were very pleased with our experiences. Reservations are a must. We arrived and were seated promptly. The space is gorgeous, an expansive room with high ceilings that looks like an old-fashioned bank or trading floor converted to a classy restaurant. The service was friendly and quick, with everything arriving speedily. I had a lovely cocktail in a tall glass, made eye-catching by a tall ice cube to match the glass, with a sprig of chamomile frozen inside. Pretty! The food was excellent as well - tender roast, a decent helping of roasted veggies, and an enormous Yorkshire pudding. Everything was tasty, and although the place was busy on a holiday Sunday we weren't rushed and rather left in peace to enjoy our meal. I made reservations with Open Table and was able get a table for following evening. Staff friendly and felt very welcoming with our large group. Steak menu was confusing and priced per 100gm and left me a bit confused as how much to order but waitress clarified and we ended up with 2 large porterhouses, Wellington, crabs in toast, and few appetizers. Steaks was perfect and my children rated 8/10 when compared to Peter Luger. Spinach both creamy and lemon garlic was outstanding. I will visit NY site soon and compare them. I love my steakhouses! Keene's in New York City, Gibson's in Chicago, Taylor's in L.A., Bern's in Tampa, now Hawkmoor's in Edinburgh, Scotland. Hawkmoor's is this lovely, dark traditional steakhouse that delivers it's fare with stylish exuberance fitting it's craft; and by craft I mean menu. Their menu reads like most top notch steakhouses, except with a dash of creativity. Take my delicious Caesar Salad for instance. It was so creative in it's structure it made it all the more appealing. Whole large sprigs of romaine lettuce drizzled with dressing, anchovies and Parmigiano cheese made it as lovely to look as just as lovely to eat. Our ribeye steak was cooked a perfect medium-rare with just the right amount of fat left on for flavor. Our beef dripping fries were crisp and distinctive; we gobbled them up . My glass of St. Emilion red wine went perfect with my steak and their lemon meringue pie was the classic ending to this remarkable dinner. As you can tell, I really loved this steakhouse. Hawksmoor is the spot for some good steaks and meat, so we made our way here for Sunday Roast. We had reservations for two at noon when it opened as we were led to our table right away. We both opted for the Slow Roast Rump (£20), which included beef dripping roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding, carrots, greens, roasted shallots & garlic and lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy. As soon as the plate was presented on the table, I was drawn to the perfection of the red-pink color of the meat of a nice medium rare. The meat was rather chewy (as I do wish it was more tender to cut into), but the accompaniment of the greens, garlic, and carbs created a well balanced meal. Very beautiful new offshoot of a very well-respected London upscale steakhouse chain. Domed traditional space has been beautifully restored. Starters were top notch. Gorgeous Isle of Moll scallops were sublimely sweet and fresh, served on their shells with beautiful garlic butter. Crab toast was gloriously crabby in all the right ways. My sirloin steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and tasted of the best aged beefy funk. The bearnaise sauce was just ok. We shared sides of creamed spinach, mac and cheese, frites, and roasted mushrooms. All were good if not great. Dessert was a spectacular sticky toffee pudding. That sauce is like crack. Came here for dinner with another couple while visiting Edinburgh for the wkd. The atmosphere is really cool and looks like it was an old bank converted into a steakhouse. This restaurant was a bit pricier to some of the other restaurants in the city but definitely worth it. For my appetizer I got the crab toast. The toast had plenty of crab but it was not the most flavorful crab. The toast was spread with mayo and some other red spread, which I couldn't pinpoint what it was, with plain shredded crab placed on top. For dinner I got the fillet cooked medium. My steak was super tasty and cooked perfectly! The steak was about an inch thick. I prefer fillets that are a bit thicker vs thin but regardless it was delicious. We ordered gravy and mash and creamed spinach as our sides and they did not disappoint. The sides were a bit small compared to a NY steakhouse So if you are a hungry American that was walking around the city all day I would suggest you get more than one side. Lastly, for dessert I shared the sticky toffee pudding Sundae and it was delicious. I actually wish I didn't commit to sharing it bc it was that good.
