I am a nurse practitioner myself and did a lot of research before deciding upon Visian lens surgery…read moreas I was not a candidate for less invasive procedures. I wanted to make sure the surgeon I visited had a breath of experience and training. After the experience I can truly saw I was impressed from my initial consult all the way through surgery and after. Dr Patel does fantastic work he is great at communicating, has a wonderful bedside manner and an amazing team of support staff. I wake up daily amazed that I can now read the clock across the room without glasses or contacts! I was so impressed with the operation aspect of the business, the entire staff is friendly, communicative, professional and values your time, investment and confidentiality.

I also feel that I was upsold to a $9,000 Light Adjustable (cataract) Lens. In all fairness Dr…read more Patel had recently chosen LAL lenses for himself. I am very healthy, as are my eyes. I do not have any health conditions that would discourage LAL lenses. My brain is as healthy and efficient as people who are much younger. I have been unable to adjust to the dual focus that is part of the LAL concept. One eye for distance, the other for close up. My eyes got tired, dry and irritated when driving, as I was only using one eye. I had the same experience with close up vision, reading, watching TV etc. My vision blurred. I've learned it is not uncommon for the brain to have difficulty making that adjustment. As a result, I experienced dizziness and my brain was unable to efficiently "track" what I was seeing. Since the surgery my eyes are extremely dry. It took over a year for the burnt, bruised feeling and floaters to resolve. Fortunately I have an excellent optical physician who was able to correct my vision with progressive lens glasses. My experience with LAL was similar to many of the patients I spoke with while in Dr. Patels waiting room. I did all of the research, asked all of the right questions but feel some of the cons were omitted from the conversation. I am not questioning Dr. Patels skills as a physician or his ethics. He is a very skilled surgeon. I think he believed LAL lenses were the best he could offer me. Hopefully he is being more realistic about their success now.

I have been a patient of Dr Niraj Patel for a few years. I've been going for my regular, yearly…read morediabetic check ups. He's always been very accommodating, polite and professional. He had said I would need cataract surgery but he didn't push it and left it to me for when I was ready and couldn't function. Finally, it was time. He willingly postponed it when we were apprehensive in March when the COVID-19 virus had so much uncertainty. Now he scheduled me and my right eye was a breeze. The operating room staff was friendly and put me at ease. Post operative was simple and I was out of the office in an hour. When I was concerned about a post operative question, he replied promptly. I would highly recommend him. All of the staff are well trained and polite and professional. Next week I am scheduled for my left eye cataract surgery!

Upon arrival, I was informed that they did not accept my insurance. They claimed to have called me regarding this but did not leave a voicemail to discuss the issue. The front office staff initially suggested a self-pay option, but when I inquired further, I was told that self-pay was not available either. This experience highlights the breakdown in the healthcare system and a lack of accountability on their part in two instances. 0 accountab=0 stars
