Everything you do not want in a doctor: awful staff, long wait times and inattentive Doctor who…read morewill bounce between multiple patients DURING your visit. I will no longer return to this office due to the shoddy service received here. The doctor clearly overwhelms his schedule to the point patients wait 45-60 minutes past their scheduled time. When you do see him, the entire visit lasts less than 10 minutes. On top of that, he offers no advice, personalized care, or any real conversation. He clearly wants people in and out as fast as possible. They will bill you through the roof, though, for the 10 minutes they see you. Office staff is also inexperienced, apathetic, and some of the billing managers are rude.

Although this visit wasn't horrible, it wasn't great either. I went in to see Dr. Ory because I had…read morea persistent cough and needed to get a TB test for my work. I didn't have to wait very long when I arrived which was great, and the nurse and staff were nice to me when taking vitals and such. But, I would recommend to double check you EOB from your insurance to make sure that they are not over charging you because of what happened in my situation. I had to go back 3 days later for a follow up to have my TB tests read. The front desk told me there is no co pay for that because it is not with the doctor. Got it. (I also called them to confirm this on the day of the follow up visit) Well, I get the EOB from my insurance and apparently the doctor billed me for his office visit ( I expected), the phone call (wth really), and the "office visit" with the nurse that took my vitals and printed me out a letter saying I was negative for TB. Billed my insurance for almost $1000. Quite extreme to me. I am currently working with CHI to dispute the phone and the 2nd office visit.

During that time I had to look for medical care elsewhere and discovered Pacific Medical. My initial contact was with a receptionist (name ?) who was the most pleasant receptionist I believe I've ever met. She was so helpful and arranged an appointment for me to meet a new PCP (Primary Care Physician). She transferred all my medical records from UW Medicine making the process painless. Did I mention the receptionist was so very pleasant? After my initial meeting with my new PCP, I was thoroughly impressed with the staff at Pacific Medical. The medical facility is really close by my apartment, so traveling back and forth is not a problem. Lots of parking, with about half dozen Handicap parking stalls directly out from the front door of the clinic. Perhaps the time spent with negotiations between Aetna & UW Medicine was my good luck.

I was extremely nervous, but once we started talking, he was such a kind and caring man, that my nerves just faded. I felt like he listened to me and we worked out the best possible scenario for my needs. One thing I really appreciate about him is that he sat down and talked with me without typing. Every doctor I have been to in the past types their notes as they talk to me and I don't really feel heard. I am very grateful that I found him and I also want to say how appreciative I am of his nurse, Caroline, for reaching out to me personally the week prior to see how I was doing. I can't remember any prior doctor's office staff reaching out to me like that and she spent a considerable amount of time talking to me. I felt so much better after our chat! I definitely believe Dr. McLaughlin when he says Pac Med puts their patients first.

How are you supposed to build a rapport with a physician when they are either let go or they quit. The type of care I have received this last year has declined. I have epilepsy and cannot go without my meds, well I've tried to get refills of the meds I need and cannot seem to get them. Also I can't call my doctor because of the way multicare has it set up. I get sooo sick if I miss any doses of any of my meds and now I'm getting them late or not at all! They apologized for forgetting to call me so I can make an appointment to be able to get a refill after I had already run out, nice huh? My pharmacy gave me an emergency 3 day supply so I wouldn't be really sick or have to go to the hospital (not that they even have room) MultiCare is becoming a pathetic circus and I STILL don't have all my meds. I'm sad because I really like my doctor, too bad MultiCare ruined that.
