Had the worst experience with her has my new PCP. She was rude, has no bedside manner and condescending. I had come in for a hospital follow up after being admitted for several days. The way she spoke to me, more like at me. How she made me feel even worse by dismissing my feelings and my chronic illnesses that were later diagnosed (not by her). I would not recommend her. I left her office crying regretting I even came in/ask for help. I filed a complaint with the patient advocate and changed providers after this. read more

If I could give less number I would. THIS DOCTOR IS TERRIBLE. No bedside manner. I was only there for 10 minutes. She emailed me and said my cholesterol is high and we'll discuss at visit (2 days away) She comes in and said what are we seeing you for today. I bring up the cholesterol and say, it's probably high because I gained 10 lbs. She said YOUR RIGHT and moved right along. SHE ASKED do you have any other issues I said yes I've been getting winded and short of breath. She said. YOU'LL HAVE TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO DISCUSS THAT I HAVE 2 OTHER PATIENTS WAITING. and she walked out. WTHECK I am livid. glad I didn't walk out and have a heart attack She could have cared less. I will be REPORTING her to someone somewhere. read more

Been my provider for over two years, largely because I've little other choice with my insurance network. She is awful. Dismissive, condescending, and literally becomes insulted and defensive when patients ask her questions to rule out possibilities she doesn't even take time to consider. Appts are on average 5-10 min long. She doesn't care about her patients. Doesn't follow up after collecting labs, doesn't bother to do beyond the bare minimum and her minimum exists below the most abysmal level. She refused to order tests for me because it challenged her diagnosis of "nothing is wrong." Has no lens for understanding patient symptoms and health through their medical history. Has told me she "can't speak to" recurring health issues that started before she started seeing me as an adult. Her whole demeanor is unsupportive and she doesn't care to treat her patients. I leave most of my appts with her feeling frustrated and dismissed to the point of tears. I will not be returning to see her anymore. Steer clear unless you enjoy being gaslit by your docor. read more

*She now goes by Dr. Amara Gill at St. Joseph's Medical Clinic Tacoma, WA * Dr Gill works in the St. Joseph's medical clinic so the other doctors there may be better but I wouldn't take my chances. My first appointment I was asked to arrive at 830 am for 900 am appointment because I was a new patient. I figured they had me arrive so early so I wouldn't delay the appointments after mine with new patient paper work. I arrived at 825 am. I handed my paper work back at 835 am. I sat there until 935 am. One questionnaire asked me to list any medication I was currently taking. I wrote the one I take for ADD and 2 OTC medicines I take for allergies. When the nurse took me back she asked me what medication I was taking again, then she wrote it down. I waited another 20 minutes for Dr. Gill to stroll in the room. She then asked me what medications I was taking. I was beginning to get confused, I thought I had shown up 30 minutes early to answer these very questions. For the third time I answered the same question because apparently taking 30 seconds to read my chart would be a bit too much like hard work for Dr. Gill. She told me quite abruptly she could not fill my ADD medicine. I responded that I was not asking her to and I have a separate doctor in downtown Seattle I have been seeing for years for my ADD and was not there for that reason. She asked me why I was there to see and I explained my issues with my right hip (which I had also written down and told the nurse). She asked me to bend over and touch my toes and lay down and she evaluated it. As i stood up she asked me if i had the HPV vaccine or birth control shot. I told her i did not need either, at which point she let me know she did pap smear's. I felt as though I was being sold add ons at a car dealership. Next she said she wanted to get an X ray of my hip and back. She told me at this point she would get my x ray back on Monday (this was Friday) she would review it then likely start me on injections. She never said what type of injections or the purpose. As she walked out the door she said she would write me prescription for a muscle relaxer. The nurse came back 10 minutes later with the prescription. On Tuesday night I slipped and fell down my hardwood stairs. I fell so hard I thought I had broken my arm. The entire back of my body including my head was covered in large blue and purple bruises. My right elbow was badly bruised and swollen but luckily not broken. I went to the ER and after an exam and X ray they advised me to see my primary care doctor before I was scheduled to return to work on Sunday because i may have ligament damage. I made an appointment with Dr Gills office for Thursday. I sat there for 20 minutes past my appointment time, being as I was in a lot of pain I asked the front desk what the problem with Dr Gill being late seemed to be. The two people at the desk told me that was "odd" and "Dr Gill was usually on time". I pointed out she was not ever on time in my experience. I then asked if they had a doctor who was able to show up on time. They said they could reschedule me for another day with an LNP. I told them no, I was in a lot of pain, it took a lot of effort to get myself there, on time nonetheless, and that Dr Gill needed to get her practice together and see me at my appointment time instead of whenever she felt like gracing me with her presence. I waited 10 more minutes and was taken to an exam room where a nurse asked me what had happened. I told her about the fall, showed her the bruises and handed her the 3 bottles of medication the ER had given me. She wrote them down. Dr Gill came in the room after the nurse left. She apologized for running late. I told her I was in pain and had probably overreacted. What happened next was surreal. She asked me why I was there to see here. I repeated what had happened. She asked what medication I had been given, I gave her the bottles and remarked I had given this info to her nurse. She then had me stand and she jabbed her fingers into one of the huge bruises on my lower back. I said ouch and had tears in my eyes. She told me to sit down and asked if I needed a note for work, I said no. I got ready to explain about my arm and she suggested I get a massage. I stared blankly back. She asked if I wanted another muscle relaxer. I stared at her and reminded her, she had given me one already and the ER had given me one how many more did she think I needed? She said she was "just throwing ideas out there". I stood up and told her I had had enough of her. She was not a very good doctor and could do with some further training I then left her office. Her office has contacted me several times since which I have repeatedly asked not to contact me again. Dr Gill is unprofessional, poorly trained, and has no manners bedside or otherwise. I would advise you look for quality healthcare else where. read more

This is the third time I have seen Dr. Gill, as she is my internal medicine doc, which means I see her for my women's issues too. I just returned from an appt where I waited 15 minutes to be seen, but everyone was friendly and apologetic about the wait. Because I am in the system, all my medications were already listed, but both the nurse and Dr. Gill asked to make sure there were no changes. Dr. Gill asked all the right questions, remembered my issues, and expressed genuine concern about how I was doing. She scheduled labs immediately, as well as other tests. I felt that she was very efficient; did not rush me; and was welcoming and caring. I would definitely recommend her. read more
