The Soya Sauce Chicken is the cheapest Michelin starred dish in the world, for 2 bucks in Singapore you can get this beauty, along with some pretty long wait times. Melbourne has now been blessed with our own Hawker Chan (the same dish is $6.80 here) complete with the ingredients for the sauce shipped straight from Singapore, and Chef Chan Hon Meng here working in the kitchen for the open. I braved the line today, within the first few days, and after being told could be over 90 mins, we were in and eating in just over an hour. We each (2 of us) had Char Siew Rice, plus a side of the chicken with Chinese tea. All this, plus 1 bottle of water for only 36 bucks! Verdict: I'd totally line up for another hour for the chicken, but I'd probably also get the Char Siew too if I'm already there! Fun Fact: Once the crowds die down, you'll be able to order your food using the self serve ordering system

An affordable Michelen starred restaurant? Yes, please!! I came here with a friend and the place was busy, but not packed. There are plenty of seating, which is great, since I figured this was a pretty popular restaurant. I got the soy sauce chicken with rice. The chicken was seasoned well, and the rice was topped with the sauce, which made the rice more delicious. The only downside was that the whole dish was pretty salty, though understandable cause of the soy sauce. The dish was great, and I can see why people love to grab some quick Chinese food here!

My daughter and I went to Hawker Chan for lunch and waited for half an hour. She ordered the chicken noodles and I ordered the char siu pork noodles with a drink each for a total of $23 which is a good price for eating out a a Michelin star spot. It was enjoyable and I would go back when the lines are not so long.

Such a long line for a decent feed. Don't get the chicken because it's so Boney and not much meat :(

Food is fine, too bad they won't acknowledge any mistakes they make when taking your order.

For less than $8 you can get a plate of their tasty soya sauce chicken with either noodles or rice (I preferred the noodles myself).

It is better to make reservations. For the dimsum I can say is average like other dimsum places I visited before. The menu is overwhelming. So many dishes to choose from. For dinner it was very nice as we had live crystal crab which I never had before. The meat is soft. The other dishes which good is the beef cube. It was so tender. The shark fin soup which is banned in US is good. Price wise, they are pretty pricey. Overall it was a good lunch and dinner

It's always…read morecomforting to have some Chinese food while abroad, and this place got the stamp of approval from 3 generations of my family!! The service was great our waiters helped us accommodate a disability within my family and recommended us some great dishes. However, the restaurant is upstairs and the elevator was broken, which made it difficult for us to get up. The food: -Seafood fried rice: Really flavorful, with generous portions of dried scallop and crab. The rice was cooked just right and the serving was big enough that for a party of 3, we had quite a bit leftover. -Snow pea leaves in garlic: A favorite vegetable of mine, and this was cooked in an amazing garlic-y soup!! Such a clean and delicious dish -Egg tofu: This was my first time having egg tofu and they were so silky and smooth. They look a bit like scallop and are served with a good amount of broccoli and mushrooms! Honestly really addicting. - Steamed trout: This fish was very pricey, but that's normal for a live fish dish. It was huge- definitely enough to serve a party of 5-6. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sauce paired amazingly with the mild trout flavor. Highly recommend if you're feeling like splurging! This place is also nice, quiet, and clean inside during dinnertime. Really amazing experience overall!
