We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

The Tile Shop - Shower floor meets shower wall

He patchily grouted the shower and never caulked, water is behind and under the tile now. He never even sealed! He then tiled the floors to match, and never fully grouted leaving holes. He also failed to take out the old floor, elevating the new floor significantly causing a trip hazard at each of the thresholds. He had to cut down our very expensive six panel oak doors so they would fit on the new floors, but he cut them so poorly. They are now jagged and stripping at the bottom. We have a new contractor coming in to do the work again, but it's going to cost us thousands and thousands more because now he has to demo and we have to buy new doors. We paid him in full, (stupid, I know) and then he stopped responding to our calls and texts, because my husband called him "unprofessional" for being non-responsive and not doing the work properly. I could cry. Beware of Tile Shop referrals.

The contractor took forever to complete the project and when I went to return some items they would not refund my money because the items were purchased more than 60 days prior. in addition, they would not take back an open box of tile with about 40 tiles in it. I had no problem returning individual tiles at TWO "Big Box" stores. I'm not sure why I paid more for the tile but got less service. in the future, I will save money and get better service by using a big box store. Super disappointing.

I told her what I was looking for, and she called for another staff member to take me to the type of flooring I wanted. He took me to that section and explained that there were three categories that they carried and what the differences were. I found the prices to be comparable with other stores I visited for similar flooring. I bought a sample of the plank for $5 to take home and see how it would look in my bathroom. He also told me that if I only end up needing two boxes, I can return the third box, if it wasn't opened, for a refund. That worked for me! Two days later, I went back to buy the flooring. Same staff member working the register remembered me. I told her I was ready to buy and gave her the SKU number that I took a photo of two days prior. She called another staff member over to retrieve three boxes of the planks for me. He also loaded them into my car. It was the easiest buying experience I've ever had. Although, I was probably the easiest customer they've had to help. Yes, it helped that I already researched what type of flooring I wanted, but I'm sure they would have helped me get to that point if needed. I was there about 15-20 minutes the first day, and maybe 5 minutes the second day. I was impressed with the non-pushy, laid-back, helpful, and friendly approach by all three staff members that helped me. My contractor was happy with my choice, as he was very familiar with the product I bought. I'm sure it will look great once installed, and I highly recommend this store.

This place is absolutely massive providing all flooring options from wood, to laminate, stone, tile and vinyl. If you're looking for a certain style, pattern, or color, I'd be surprised if they didn't have it. It's also a clean, well, kept, and spacious store that is very easy to navigate around. We found the Rock Ridge Ledger Stone we were looking for in the back of the store, and snagged six boxes to start with. I'd definitely call the pricing reasonable. My only caveat is that both the staff members we spoke to didn't seem to be the most knowledgable on product. We were looking for the best sealant, and each of them didn't seem too sure on the best recommendation. Good thing I have dad on speed dial who knows the ropes of renovation! We'd certainly return to Floors & Decor for future tile and flooring needs. I see a bathroom remodel in my future...!

A day later, I saw their van a few blocks away and gave them a call. An hour later they were at my house to give me a quote. But what a quote! It came with a 30 minute consult and a amazing set of options I didn't know existed. The contract was drawn up right then. I signed and we scheduled repairs. The night before our appointed time, Derrick called to confirm. Workers were at my door at 8:00 AM as promised. The crew did a great job of cleaning, staining, and sealing my dark gray slate floor. It has never looked better. Friends come in and remark how beautiful the floor is, but cannot pinpoint why.

We called and made an appointment for an estimate and decided to go ahead. The contractor was available in about 2-1/2 weeks from the time of the estimate and arrived just a few minutes late. He was very pleasant and worked diligently all morning and part of the afternoon. Starting time was about 9:00 a.m. and he finished around 2:30 p.m. The shower looks fantastic, like almost a brand new one! He did a GREAT job and cleaned up after himself extremely well. We were so very pleased!

Kevin (Design Consultant) was very attentive and listened carefully to our needs, providing different options for our review and discussion. His priority was to deliver what we wanted in our kitchen update. He guided us through the entire selection process and always gave us his input when we asked and made adjustments along the journey based on our feedback. He took the time to provide us numerous estimated costs for different options and actually in the end, they were under budget. Kevin and his installation team (headed by David) was very professional and detail oriented and it showed in the quality of their work. We were impressed with their exceptional craftsmanship with cabinet door, sink, hardware and painting installation. In addition, they left our home spotless after every visit from the first day through the last day of the project installation. In fact, there was a minor flaw in one of the cabinet doors and they installed it, but informed us immediately they ordered a new door to be re-installed upon arrival to their showroom. Their customer service was wonderful. Kevin and David stayed on their timeline through the entire journey, beginning to end. We also like to give a big shout out to Heidi for exceptional customer service throughout. She was responsible for keeping the communication back and forth with us and her team. She was always upbeat, kind and helpful providing answers back to us within the same day. Kevin was upfront and honest about what Savers could deliver and they did not disappoint.
