My review is strictly in regards to the service department- This has to be the most unprofessional service department I've ever worked with. Expect to be treated with no respect and expect to be without a car for nearly a week with no offer of a rental. I've worked with this service department for about two years and every visit has been sub-standard, but I accept it since they are close to home and they accept the warranty on my car. My last and final visit was to address a problem where my car wouldn't start on the first attempt. I left it there with the assumption that someone would get a chance to look at the car the next day. The following day I get no update on the car what so ever. At this point I had to call in to see if I was able to pick it up since I was unable to set up arrangements to continue using a replacement car. After waiting on hold on multiple occasions for over 10 minutes, the operator finally paged Bill, the "service advisor." I wanted the opportunity to check to see if my car was looked at. I gave him all the information he requested and he said it was not, but assured me that it would be looked at the following day. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep the car one more day, so I mentioned that I would come by to pick it up and bring it in at a later time. He put me on hold for a few minutes, comes back and said that was fine. I arrive to pick up the car and I wait another ten minutes for Bill to acknowledge and assist me. He comes back with a bill saying that I now owe money because a mechanic "got a chance" to look at my car. Really? When was that? In the 5 minutes it took to get from house to the dealership? When I told him that I just spoke with him over the phone, he pretended that he did know and kept telling me that I signed acknowledging the fee. I've dropped over 2K in service the past couple years with them, and I'm aware that there is a charge to inspect the vehicle, but you can't tell me that in the matter of 5 minutes after our phone interaction, a technician was able to fully inspect the car. I explained my frustration. He was extremely rude, and he began yelling at me. He's words to be verbatim were: "I'm done with you." I wouldn't buy a wagon from this place. Bought an Equinox five years ago, and it has been nothing but trouble. Started with not providing the key for the wheels and trying to charge me to unlock the wheels for rotation. There are lots of problems with the car's electrical system that they and other car dealers could never seem to fix while under warranty and was never resolved. We have to replace the headlights nearly every month. Add to that the recent development of multiple sales people calling my phone nearly every day for the past month trying to get me to buy another car from them. My partner and I were recommended Hawk back in 2014 simply because they had the new Impala we were searching for. Coming across this dealer by chance was our best move! Considering this was my gf's first brand new car, they were able to get her into the exact color, interior and upgrades she was wishing for. Needless to say she is still very much in love with her car 2 years later. I took my mother back there for her new Equinox the year after. Great bilingual service here as well! We went in on a Saturday and you could imagine how busy they were - but could you believe the gentleman offered us some lunch that they had ordered for their own staff?? Yes, we sat there and ate hot dogs and chips while we waited. Hospitable and accommodating! It was only right that we recently went back to purchase a brand new Malibu for myself a month ago. We dealt with Robert the first time around and came in to see him again. He is very nice, funny, made us very comfortable. Financially, the manager and himself made sure to go over every detail and option we had available to us. Robert always personally calls in to check up on us and how everything is with our cars. Follows through with everything possible, even when bringing our cars in for servicing everyone is top notch. I recommend this place to anyone I can! Great job guys :) read more

Went to Hawk Chevy to have warranty work done (for free). After having my car for 3 hours, they come out and tell me that my car needs $700 worth of other work and that they refuse to do the free work without me getting the 'other' work done! I refuse their service but when I get to my car, I noticed that it ran differently. So I go back in to find the person I'd been working with and she says that until I get the $700 worth of work done, my car will run "harder & harder". I told her that I didn't have this problem when I pulled it in. Turns out... they'd DRAINED MY TRANSMISSION (gear box - I have a manual transmission). I took it to my trusted Carmax and found that I had NO fluid in the gear box. I will NEVER go back there again, nor will I suggest that anyone EVER go here. read more

To answer your questions No I was not satisfied with my experience. Your salesperson did not have any demeanor that he wanted to be there he was texting on his phone the whole time we went over the truck and on the test drive. Then when the manager came over he insulted me because "I didn't like $10000 off the truck" when in reality still wasn't the price that was listed online and I had 3 people at the dealership confirm it before I drove out there. Which I have pictures of 1 of the conversations directly before I left. But that didn't matter to the manager, his only care was money and that's that. And then he wanted to tack on an additional $1200 destination fee on top of the fake price advertised. I went to another dealership directly after. They sold me the truck for a better price than you guys even had listed and threw in extras to show how much they cared that I came out to them before making a final purchasing decision. Their customer service was outstanding, I never needed to ask for a manager, everything I needed to know or take care of the salesperson handled for me. I am very happy I went to this other dealership and they will be getting all my business going forward and every recommendation from me from hear on out. I had a recall on my cobalt and they serviced my car right away. They told me it would take about 2 hours or more but my car was ready in an hour. The new waiting area was very nice and comfortable, I was very pleased with the service and new waiting area. read more

Went to the service department for oil change, rotate tires, flush and fill. Adviser said I needed brake flush. Total was 372. I thought, for the service preformed the cost was expensive. Basically just had fluids changed for a total of 372. Little crazy for me. We won't be returning to Hawk for any future servicing. Way to expensive. read more

This review has to do with their Ads they send out via email - I received an Ad via email about the "Hawks Play off Pay Off". When I got this email, I figured this would be a good time to get something more fuel efficient since I drive so far for work everyday. I purchased a 2011 Silverado back in December 2011 and I got the 0% APR but I felt like I was rushed into it. Maybe my mistake for jumping at it but whatever. I see this ad and it reads that "they will pay off your car no matter what you owe!" which I know they do normally but if you are upside down on your car you have to find a way to make up the negative equity which is standard. But the ad specifically states that they will pay it off no matter what you owe which to me says "we will pay it off and you start from scratch with a new car loan". Like I said, I thought this was a good deal. As I am emailing back and forth, I am told by one person that I owe to much and to keep making payments which contradicts their ad. I get the email again and I email and tell that person the discussion I had with the previous person. This guy tells me that the other person is wrong and to come in. So after a few days, I go in there today. I start the process and get my car appraised. Surprise, Surprise! It is only worth half of what I paid for it just a year and a few months ago but in my mind, they are going to pay it off and I start clean. The salesman runs numbers and proceeds to tell me that I am upside down about $13,000 and that I can only buy a car that I specifically said I did not want "because the rebates on the car would help the negative equity". Then he proceeds to tell me that I can move into another Silverado but why would I do that? He was not listening to what I was saying at all when I said I was looking for fuel efficiency! Move into another Silverado, $5000 more onto my next loan and lose my 0%? Out of your mind dude! When I mentioned that this is not what the advertisement said, he immediately through his hands up and said "oh I have nothing to do with that, that is the managers deal". Then I said it again that your Ad specifically says you will pay off my truck no matter what I owe and that his Ad was majorly misleading. I know they always pay off the previous car in a trade, everyone knows that, but in this instance there advertisement screams "bring your car in, trade it in, we will pay it off no matter what and get you started from scratch". It never said anything about it basically being the same process as any other day and that if you are upside down they will not pay it off and start you from scratch. They basically used a professional teams name and reputation to twist an already flawed process. It sounded like to me he wanted to push his last 2012 Malibu out and nothing else. Why would I have to worry about negative equity if your add says you will pay off no matter what the person owes and you claim to need used inventory? I never take my time to write a review or even think about sitting down and writing a review because they are generally useless but this process made me so unbelievable angry that my spouse had to calm me down when we left. With this review, I hope when anyone gets advertisements from Hawk Chevy to not believe them because all the basically did was try to get you in the door and make you feel stupid when you come in. I am the wrong person to try that on and it was only out of respect for my spouse that I did not make frustrations known throughout the showroom. I needed an oil change. I typically go to this dealer. I drove in and another lady followed close behind me. Neither of us were not greeted by a service technician. Not a big deal, but a sign of what was to come. We walked to the counter. Only three people were working. One was on the telephone. One was helping a customer. And one was intensely interested in his paper work. No one acknowledged us. No one seemed to notice that we existed. The paperwork guy got up a couple of times. He walked into the waiting area. He walked into the garage area. Each time he walked past us, he ignored us. No, "I will be right with you," no eye contact, or any other acknowlegement. Both of us were getting very frustrated. When the fellow on the phone finished, he started to help me. I expressed my frustration at being ignored. But, the other lady was still not acknowledged. Finally, she had enough, and asked to have her car removed from the garage. She and I talked. It wasn't the wait. It was the total disregard of her presence and the total disinterest in her business. I was close to doing the same thing. The basis on my rating: Zero stars for customer service. 5 stars for quality work. Hence the three star rating. For years, I have taken my cars to this dealer. I was usually greeted before I got out of my car. Now, they appear to be short handed and unmotivated. I am unwilling to repeat this experience or to find out whether it was an unusual event. Clara and sirea asked me to come in for a visit. I told them my situation and I came in Saturday remind you I stay over east which was a 45 minute drive that I took out of my Saturday. To no avail they could not deliver... I told them I had a 2010 Malibu and that I was in negative equity but they insisted that I come in . I get there and the story of course is totally different. Then they run my credit more and more which makes me score go down even more then tell me I'm denied.... My salesman tells me they have a lot of incentives on the Malibu which would eat up most of the negative equity Then when he comes back he wants a big down payment. I don't think, I'll go back there again nor will I recommend anyone else to go here. They have you waste your time which to me very unprofessional and they need to to stop selling people dreams over the phone!!! In my opinion they don't Have Great relationships with their bankers because of they did this kind of stuff would not happen. When I went to World Hyundai in matteson those managers have real relationships with their Banks.... And they were able to deliver my 2010 Malibu I guess Hawk Chevy is just a brand name . For the last 15,000 miles I've heard a bearing sound coming from my Chevy City Express. After researching what may be causing the sound I came to the conclusion that it might be my HUB bearing(s). I brought it to two Different Chevy dealers, Twice to Hawk Chevy (8200 Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, IL 60455) and twice to Advantage Chevy (9510 Joliet Rd, Hodgkins, IL 60525). Every time I asked for a vehicle inspections and please check those hub bearing on ALL OCCASIONS. On the visits prior to today my vehicle was under warranty, now it has over 50,000 miles... NO WARRANTY. So today I brought it in to Advantage and SHAZAM I need new hubs in the rear, it wasn't my tires or some other noise now but today while outside the warranty it for sure is my HUBS to the tune of $900.00. It's amazing what 1,200 miles outside the warranty period will give you. Not to mention but the vehicle inspections that used to cost around $30 now cost me $160 to tell me I need hubs that were supposed to be checked and under warranty on the prior occasions. Was searching for car using the Internet, and I was interested in a new Malibu. So I emailed the dealership pertaining to one I liked in a really sexy red. They sent me an email back stating how much I would have to pay, which was a couple thousand dollars under the sticker price. Want to make note that when they sent it at the top of the header it showed that it was 0% financing.... So after I figured out my monthly payments at 0% financing with the deal they gave me I thought I could swing it and I went to the dealership to do the deal. So I printed out everything I had and went to the dealer and said "I have this price let's do this" when they brought me the printout it was it 6 1/2% financing, so I called him on the carpet said look you sent me this note... That's in my hand that I presented to them, that shows that there was an agreed-upon price at 0% financing. They refused to give me the discounted rate and the 0% financing. And even though I had it on their own letterhead, they refuse to acknowledge that it was a mistake on their behalf. So I wasted two hours of time test driving a car and waiting for them to do the dance, to find out that what they sent me... In writing.... That their deal was not going to be upheld by them. Bought a 2010 Tahoe that still had a warranty on it it supposively passed the 100 point inspection Within a week of bringing the truck home NOTHING but issues the salesman Edtya and Jorge Soria are the WORST, they talked over me, told me i don't know what i'm talking about, got GM involved took it to another dealer and there was a laundry list wrong with the truck that should of been caught by the inspection. A year later no resolution stuck with this lemon I'm getting an attorney, complete fraud. I wonder if they did this to me cause i walk with a cane? Bought a used car from the lot and right away there were problems with idling and the car slowing down with jerking and pulling back. Took it into dealer less then a week of purchase and they wanted to charge me to look at it for over $100. Salesman seen me and waived fee. Not even a few weeks later on my way rushing to the ER because my fatherinlaw was coding on the table, my truck decides to flash every light possibly wrong with my system. I took my car to Hawk Chevrolet in Bridgeview, Illinois to get a new battery on August 14, 2017. The only thing I am confused about is why my battery had so much corrosion and I was never informed. I have been regularly getting my oil changed at hawk for the past 2 years. I always ask for the full service when I come. I had to purchase a new battery because the old one was in bad shape. I pay for service but now I am wondering If I am receiving the service. I was at the grocery store and my car would not start as to how I found out my battery was messed up. Looking at my battery while the tow truck service was giving me a jump start looks like a accumulation of time. When I purchased my 2014 Impala from Hawk and took out the extended warranty also so I could have a piece of mind and to know that when I put my car in the service technician hands that I am getting the best care of service. I came in here about a month ago for my standard oil change. The week before I went to a Mazda dealership to see about trading in my vehicle. It was brought to my attention by the saleman at Mazda, that I have ZERO car fax listed on for my car. None of the oil changes, none of the recalls that were done. Especially it looked like my car was 2 years old, with 40k miles, and I had done no services on it. Im very on time with any oil changes as well as when I receive recall notices, I get it done right away. When I went in the AM for my oil change, I asked the lady service if I could speak with a SERVICE manager about the issue. She stated to me that I needed to speak with the SALES manager about my car fax... When I came back to pick up my car that evening, I went up front to speak with the sales manager. I cant remember his name, but he was an older male who I specifically remember from when I bought the car. I stated to him what happened at the dealer when I received the car fax and the first thing out of his mouth was "SERVICE told you to come to SALES for a SERVICE issue?" He repeated himself in a very rude tone, as if I was stupid and didnt know what I was doing. I notified him that im aware car fax were suppose to be done when you have services done on your car, but that the lady in service said I needed to speak with them. After going back and forth with him, he informed me that they do not report anything to car fax, but they report it specifically to GM. He printed off the report to show me it was all reported to GM. OK fine. But if I try to get a car at a non GM dealer, they can not see this report? Were as ALL dealers can see car fax.. Then he took me back to speak with Bill who was the service manager. Both of these gentleman made me feel as if I was some young female, who they could down upon and treated me as if I was dumb and stupid. I worked at a car repair shop/oil change shop for 5 years. I know a little more than they think.. After going back and forth with these two men and feeling as if I was being insulted, I decided I would just take my things and leave, as I was getting no where talking to them. Before leaving, the Sales manager was EXTREMELY quick to say "Well if I doesnt work out at the other dealership, feel free to come back here and well get you into a bigger car you want" WHY would I come back to a dealership that made me feel as if they were very sexist and made me feel like I was being talked down upon?! Following my oil change, chevy will email you a survey to take about your experience. I did give bad rates as I was and still am, very upset about my experience at Hawk Chevy in Bridgeview. On 12/3/18, a few days after my review, I received a phone call from a woman named Mary or Miriam? She asked what had happened that I was not satisfied, and at that time I explained the situation. I told her how I felt very degraded and looked at as if I was stupid and didn't know anything. She listened and explained that as being a woman herself, she understood the situation. She stated she would speak with her manager and call me back later that day, or the next day. It is now 12/14/18 and I have NOT heard back from ANYONE about the situation at hand. I now will be taking my business somewhere else, and will be sure to let any friends or family know to NEVER go to Hawk Chevy in Bridgeview. Went in to purchase a used vehicle. Ended up finding a brand new vehicle with a special internet price for a great deal! We were told that that price ended the day before but that the manager agreed to honor it. Well when adding up the numbers and the 'Cash back' that was suppose to get us back to that internet price they had hidden $2k into the vehicle cost that was not on the sheet. When I added the numbers myself after trying to figure out what I was missing they did not add up!!!!!! I already had my financing and knew the total I was going to finance but their number was always $2k more. I felt bad for Matt the sales guy because I truly believe he had nothing to do with it. This is the third time in a row that I went to get an oil change for my car, and it was a horrible experience. This is the last time I go to get my oil chnage done there because they broke the switch of my car and they claimed it was broken already. I know for a fact that if it would of been my fault and that I would of broken it I would of taken full realonsibilty for it. Before I lend them my car everything was fine with it and once I came back I started having difficulties with it. I had to pay $350 for something that it was their fault. The manager working there, Jen Gibbs, would get nervous when I started complaining about my car because she knew that once she got on my car she did something for it to stop functioning. She knew that they were responsible for the damage of my car and not me. The worse dealer that I have ever been to and I bought my car there which was the worse mistake. I called to schedule an appointment, and the receptionist was phenomenal. She was very understanding, cheerful, and treated me with respect. When I showed up to the dealership, I had to wait about 10 minutes to meet with an associate. Not a huge deal. The man who ran my initial paperwork didn't introduce himself until the very end of the car's history and gathering my information. He did not remember my first name and clearly had no idea who I was or why I was there. Although he did explain what he was doing each step of the check-in, I had to detail the issues to him twice before he entered that into the computer. I had my brakes checked and my HVAC system switch looked at. These two things took over two hours. During the entire wait, not a single associate informed me of its progress. I walked through the showroom, and not one sales associate said, "Hello," or asked if I had any questions. The total repair bill came to $1400, which surprised me quite a lot! When a lady came and gave me the paperwork and went over the repairs with me, she had no clue what I was being charged for the inspection and showed a disconnect in communication. The HVAC switch was $400 and she "wasn't sure it would fix my problem." I ended up leaving with a $120 inspection charge and a tiny breakdown of what the parts would cost to "possibly" fix my car and no estimate on labor. Overall, I'm not anywhere near satisfied, and I doubt I'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

Customer Service is rapidly declining. This is the second car I purchased from Hawk, the customer service there was second to none a couple of years ago. However, in my last visit to get my car serviced I was so disappointed. The receptionist who answered the phone was very rude, put me on hold 3 times until she finally came back to me. The customer service in the service department also awful. I made an appointment for an oil change, took me a week to get in, showed up early for my appointment and still waited an hour and a half for an oil change???? They called me to see how the service was I told them they must have did something with the sensors as all my lights were lighting up after I took the car home, he said oh yes we have been having that problem. "I will have someone call you back today, to get you back in so we can look at it". One week later, no phone call! Unfortunately, I will be going else where for service. read more

So I made my way in as they requested. After 2 hours the salesman says " great news! Here are the numbers!" The number were literally $20,000 more than what we spoke about over the phones $13,000 below market value on my trade and a insane number on the price of the new car. Absolute waste of time. They are a really small Chevy dealer. Make sure you go somewhere with higher volume and maybe find a dealer that lies to you over the phone just to get you in. After taking the time to test drive it, and go through all the credit app b.s. and agreeing to put $8000 down, they come back with an offer $3000 over asking price, putting it back at full list . This place is by far the worst dealer I have EVER been to. About a month ago I went to this dealer looking to purchase a new Equinox, a sales man by the name of Reggie approached my Dad and I and we took an Equinox for a test drive, he had NO education on cars what so ever. He did not know the difference between Equinox LS, or Equinox LT, he did not know how many cylinders it was and did not know how it has energy saving gas but he was more then willing to make up an explanation. I printed out the car I was looking at on THEIR website online and he said all those prices were wrong. The sales person told me when I approached him that they were having a construction sale and if I purchased a new car I would get 4000 off, when we sat down to talk numbers, that was no longer true. When I told him I wasnt paying that much he then asked me if I wanted to buy a USED Equinox for a couple hundred dollars cheaper My dad and I went to leave after wasting 3 hours at this place when a manager came out to apologize on behave of Reggie, stating that he was new. I understand people are always going to be new but then train them and don't allow them to lie to customers and act like they know what they are talking about, and do not waste my time. im very dissapointed after purchasing my vehicle i reviewed my paperwork and was told it was mandatory to get something called vin etch thorugh autoguard , something they charged me $200 for , come to find out it is NOT mandatory and i could have did this myself for less then $20. whats more mestup is i was working for them at the time i bought my car . then they take in a trade in that clearly they could have payed off and tacked almost $2k onto my loan . now im so upsidedown on my car there is nothing i can do to get out of this car, i cant believe i bought two cars from them it was a big mistake i dealt with a karri warren and art w was the gm . how they could have done this to their own employee at the time is beyond me read more

Scam alert! They sold my wife a car that was in an accident and never disclosed it. Refused to show a carfax. The car was a lemon. She had problems all the time. Even though she had purchased extended warranty they were charging her for repairs. The car was longer in their service department then on her driveway. They said they would take that car back and wipe out that loan if she bought a new car there. She got a new car but they added 5200 dollars from her old loan to the new one. I was told my oil change and tire rotation would take 45 minutes. After an hour and half of waiting in a makeshift waiting room next to a room where there was heavy contruction going on, I asked a rep how much longer it would be. Her response was very rude she said I don't know it not our fault someone called off she said it should be another 30 minutes. Those 30 minutes came and went and my car was still not ready. When I asked what was taking so long another rep said I don't know. This service is completely unacceptable. I'm shocked that any business would treat their customers like this and from a business liability stand point having anyone sit in that makeshift room is just completely wrong. They need to have their service reps take customer service classes because they are so unprofessional. read more

Terrible waste of my time going into this dealership! I got suckered in by their attractive "internet sales price." Don't believe their internet prices! The real price was going to be thousands more.They are completely unrealistic and are placed online just to get you into the dealership. I was told the price reflects what it could be if you qualified for every available incentive. You need to read the "mice type" at the bottom of the page to see the note "All incentives applied. Prices do not include additional fees and costs of closing, including government fees and taxes, any finance charges, any dealer documentation fees, any emissions testing fees or other fees. All prices, specifications and availability subject to change without notice. Contact dealer for most current information." It doesn't even tell you what the incentives are or if you could even remotely qualify for any of them. Looking at another Chevy site for available incentives I found I might qualify for $500 off. It would be almost impossible for one person to qualify for all incentives at the internet list price. This was one of my worst car buying experiences and i have bought and sold a lot of cars over the years.After being grossly misled by the advertising I could not even consider purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. read more
