Chill shop w/ good poke ! As with other poke shops, ordering the bowl was quick and easy. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of seafood. The scoops are a bit on the smaller side but the bowls are reasonably priced, and most of the toppings are free (besides avocado). I got the spicy salmon and scallops and really enjoyed both. Would recommend the wasabi aioli! Giving 4 stars because the ramen is just ok. Would def come back for the poke though! read more

I have had poke all over the country (lived in Hawaii for many years). I consider it one of my favorite dishes and this was okay. A 1.5/5 compared to actual Hawaiian Poke. For mainland I'd give it a 3.5. First place I have tried in Texas but will keep searching for better before I consider coming back. Service was good. Staff was friendly. Served chipotle style, build as you go. Other then that, that's the extent of your interaction. The ambiance was nice, quiet, relaxing, with cafeteria vibes. Nothing super fancy but it was clean. Pretty dead for 1230 in the afternoon. Pros: -Lots of toppings. They mix them for you. -Milk Tea also served (a lot of options for toppings as well) Cons: -The imitation crab they use is not the typical crab salad I'd typically see in a poke bowl. It does not carry the sweet, meaty flavor of the stringier version. It resembles the imitation crab you buy in a can. -The flavor was off. I could not pinpoint it but it was kind of bland, slightly fishy/metallic tasting. It could have been the imitation crab. Not sure. -Bubble tea was not my fav. I just got the original but that could have been a poor choice on my part. -The 3 protein bowl with a milk tea came out to $18 and change. We go to Hawaii Poke every summer for my daughter's bday by her request and this year was no exception! We brought my entire family this time. The poke bowl is unmatched in quality for price. Many base options, and sauce and protein options . My family loves that they have authentic toppings like Furikake and masago (we always get extra). The staff is always friendly and helpful. While the poke crazy is super trendy right now, that means a lot of places like Hawaii Poke are popping up aka fast casual Chipotle style poke. There's nothing wrong with it but I prefer a more traditional approach to poke. However, if businesses like this streamline poke and bring it to the masses, why not? You go in, order as you go, pay and go on your way. I kept mine to a somewhat minimum with rice and spring mix, ahi and yellowtail, spicy sauce, edamame, seaweed salad and cucumbers. I find too many add-ins take away the true meaning of poke so I like to keep it down to only a few. a Regular bowl is under $10 which is beyond reasonable for a healthy option like poke! read more

We love poke especially since they're everywhere around California. We looked up the location and business and found out it had great reviews. Very stingy with their portion of sides, not sure if it's the worker here or just the standard, but comparing to Hana Poke down the street, their portions/scoops are very little for the same price. Totally surprised that a poke place popped up in Corpus Christi. This place was crowded so my first instinct was it had to be good. It was just that, good. Nothing stood out but nothing was horrible either. With so many poke places sprouting up on the mainland like weeds, you can only imagine the amount of disappointment to see what other versions of poke look like. Fish was certainly fresh as all the other ingredients. I don't know why these places don't marinate their ahi. It baffles me. I love this place!! Picture it like a subway, but with Japanese ingredients. I always get their raw ahi tuna and salmon or yellowtail. The most popular sauce is the Hawaii poke sauce, which is their specialty sauce. Spicy mayo is good too, but it is a little spicy (some places spicy mayo isn't spicy). You have to have spicy crab/regular crab meat in your bowl... it's so good!!! Also their seaweed!! Ahh... just add everything in your bowl because the toppings are unlimited and the prices are cheap. They have a helpful menu showing you the steps and selections to making your poke (you choose a base, veggies, protein, sauce and extra toppings) Ample portions. I was stuffed from the regular bowl. We frequent Hawaii Poke. Especially in the beginning, the service was quick and friendly. The food has been consistently delicious. As they expand their business (woohoo!) the need to hire new staff obviously came up... unfortunately since then, the service has been hit-or-miss. It feels less like a local treasure and more like a chain now. I'm happy for their success but the new staff need more training and definitely more people skills.
