I have had poke all over the country (lived in Hawaii for many years). I consider it one of my favorite dishes and this was okay. A 1.5/5 compared to actual Hawaiian Poke. For mainland I'd give it a 3.5. First place I have tried in Texas but will keep searching for better before I consider coming back. Service was good. Staff was friendly. Served chipotle style, build as you go. Other then that, that's the extent of your interaction. The ambiance was nice, quiet, relaxing, with cafeteria vibes. Nothing super fancy but it was clean. Pretty dead for 1230 in the afternoon. Pros: -Lots of toppings. They mix them for you. -Milk Tea also served (a lot of options for toppings as well) Cons: -The imitation crab they use is not the typical crab salad I'd typically see in a poke bowl. It does not carry the sweet, meaty flavor of the stringier version. It resembles the imitation crab you buy in a can. -The flavor was off. I could not pinpoint it but it was kind of bland, slightly fishy/metallic tasting. It could have been the imitation crab. Not sure. -Bubble tea was not my fav. I just got the original but that could have been a poor choice on my part. -The 3 protein bowl with a milk tea came out to $18 and change. We go to Hawaii Poke every summer for my daughter's bday by her request and this year was no exception! We brought my entire family this time. The poke bowl is unmatched in quality for price. Many base options, and sauce and protein options . My family loves that they have authentic toppings like Furikake and masago (we always get extra). The staff is always friendly and helpful. The most popular sauce is the Hawaii poke sauce, which is their specialty sauce. Spicy mayo is good too, but it is a little spicy (some places spicy mayo isn't spicy). We frequent Hawaii Poke. Especially in the beginning, the service was quick and friendly. The food has been consistently delicious. As they expand their business (woohoo!) the need to hire new staff obviously came up... unfortunately since then, the service has been hit-or-miss. It feels less like a local treasure and more like a chain now. I'm happy for their success but the new staff need more training and definitely more people skills.
