I would find another Installer or repair company. I contacted Haven's and had them give me a price to install air conditioning and heat in my shop and replace the entire house unit. Not a small job by no means. We agreed on the price and the new AC units were ordered. I gave them the demotions of my shop. 40X120 Insulated enclosed section. Discussed with installer several times about the size of the mini splits he ordered to go into the shop. He claimed they were 2.5-ton units and 4 of them was going in. After 2 units were installed, I had seen on the box that the BTU rating did not match what a 2.5-ton unit should be. Called the installer. They were only 2-ton units. He insured me the 4 units were going to be plenty of tonnage for that size shop. Well low and behold it does cool but you must leave them on 24/7. No walking into the shop and turning them on and feeling a difference in a few min. So there goes my utility bills if I want to have a cool shop. Also, I ordered a new Trane 5-ton unit and coil for my house. Was over two weeks and still no unit showed up. Well in the meantime my current unit leaked down and needed Freon again. This is the original reason Havens was even at my house was the original unit leaked down Freon and no leak was detected. So, then the decision was made to just swap it all for new stuff that had better seer ratings. Well after 2 weeks of not receiving the new Trane unit I had to have them add Freon to my current unit again. I did mention since it was taking so long to get my equipment, they should eat that charge. No reply from Ethen the installer. He was already at my shop installing a mini split when notified the AC unit quit cooling. So, it's not like it was a new service charge to drive out to my house. Well will I'm trying to get over what's taking forever to install the 4 mini-splits in my shop and waiting for the house AC to be delivered i get a call from Ethan that they can't get the Trane unit now. It's been almost a month at this point. Why am i just finding this out now I thought. Well, I got the line things are hard to get, Trane is stopped making AC units cause the are getting ready for new law guidelines yada, yada, yada...Well now I have to swap to a Ream unit that well you know the drill its cost more. Of course. so, its $400 more. I say OK I have to have it right. He gets it. Installs it all the while I'm in West Texas working. Everything has been ether by phone or text with no reason to doubt the final bill. At the start of the job, I paid half the agreed total amount and expected the final bill to be the same cost plus $400 dollars for the Ream unit that I had to get. Well, that was not the final case. I was charged the $400 plus and additional $1,000 dollars. When questioned I was told it was for Line set covers and the Freon to fill my unit back up while waiting on the Trane to arrive that never showed up. Bull crap. Just a shady way to do business. If the cost was going to go over the bid, I should have known about it. But he knew I was gone and invoiced my wife without my knowledge. Keep your money in your pocket. Don't deal with this crap. read more
