We grabbed an apple crisp and cookies and cream cone. The apple was handed out first...I almost thought it was a joke as the scoop looked like something you may hand to a toddler. 1-2 adult bites. Having never been, I didn't know what to expect. The cookies and cream came out as one might expect. So, I guess it just depends on who handles your scoop. I will try them again, may skip a cone and ask for a bowl instead.

I went this morning, and the lady behind the counter was nice, and informed me that the bakery is temporarily going to be open only on Fridays and Saturdays. She also explained the menu and how they offer vegan options. There were different variety of donuts, cookies, cake slices, cupcakes available. I tried a glazed donut and ordered banana pudding. The donut was delicious! I haven't tried the banana pudding yet, but I can't wait to eat it! I'm definitely going back soon to try other goodies that they offer!

I was a bit disappointed they did not offer the assortment of plated sugar free cookies--not sure if they sold out or not longer offer them (it's a great option for diabetic friends). The confection selection arrived to its destination and was a great dessert option. The cassata cake and tiramisu were delicious. My daughter happily consumed her dot cake. The gluten free cookies were soft with a strong almond flavor and shaped like lady fingers. Hosts enjoyed cannolis and were gifted the remainder to enjoy later. Staff was attentive and accommodating. The interior is no frills and serves its purpose. There were several cases (not pictured) filled with yummy baked goodness, Italian wedding soup, pizza, muffuletta, breads, etc. Sadly, missed out on muffuletta (a great lunch/snack option), but maybe next time...

The attitude became so frustrating that I ultimately ended the call rather than continue the conversation. The owner and chef, Ricardo, and his staff are attentive and personable. The elote fries are a great way to start a meal. I've also had a pork tamal/tamale. It was a bit dry, but I'm hoping it was just a one-time occurrence. I've tried four tacos on the menu: acorazado (fried chicken), al pastor, ceviche (marinated shrimp), and carnitas. Of those, the carnitas was by far my favorite. The pork is cooked with pig's feet, which noticeably enhances the flavor profile. I've also had the birria pizza. I personally prefer birria tacos, but have not tried them here yet. On the sweeter side, the aguas frescas, ice cream, and sweet bread are all must-tries. I've also gotten the chocolate-dipped banana. I would get this again, but the other sweets are superior. After sampling all the aguas frescas and ice cream flavors, I can honestly say I enjoyed them all. The ice cream stood out the most, as there are so many unique flavors. Prickly pear, gancito, tres leches, bubble gum, and piñon (pine nut) are just a few of the options available. As for the sweet bread, I got it on my way out, and it barely made it to my car. Although I loved the elote fries and carnitas taco, it was the sweets that impressed me the most. Most importantly, everything is made in-house. In a day and age where outsourcing has become so common, an establishment like Michi Michi cannot go unappreciated.
