I've been here twice now…read more My first class was in 2023. I found them on ClassPass and I took a Tuesday night Yin class with Carley. I was not impressed. The sequencing was odd and her commentary wasn't my style. At some point, she said something like, "think about... I don't know... the window" and I just couldn't let it go. lol. Like, just not for me. I took a Sculpt class today with Aaliyah. It was fine, at best. I've been fortunate enough to take similarly-formatted classes at other studios - big, small, local, national - and this one just missed the mark. Aaliyah did a GREAT job of letting you know what to expect, and coaching you through doing moves correctly. But dear god, the insanely long breaks between every. Single. Move. And. Each. Block. Threw me off! At one point, there was like an actual 2-3 minute break. I burned under 300 calories for an hour-long class which NEVER happens for me. I think part of the issue was that she was doing every move with us and was getting pretty tired herself. The pace wasn't consistent enough for me. But there were older and pregnant people in class so maybe that's the gentler version. I appreciate that there's a yoga offering in this location but the styles here aren't for me. Like, I didn't even need or want a savasana at the end and didn't have the same clarity I normally do. That said, if you want a class where you're not really pushed to your edge and you want a slower pack with more sculpting handholding, this place is great!

Came here for a class with my friend, and absolutely was not disappointed! The hot yoga class we…read moretook on Thursday with Da'Jon was EVERYTHING. Not only did the class have me feeling refreshed and challenge, but the vibe inside was everything. The people were dope, the instructor was even doer. The music was incredible, and I actually felt comfortable moving in my body in the way that made sense. Obviously, I couldn't get into everything in the way that I wanted, but it wasn't like other classes, where you feel pressured to. This class was dope. A few things: 1) take your shoes off after entering and put them in the cubby. 2) put your stuff in the lockers in the locker room. 3) know you can shower after if you would like 4) sweat your butt off! They have memberships, and they use ClassPass. I would highly recommend!

Business practices, responsiveness and sincerity of owner, commitment to the practice of wellness…read more Kendra and Melanie are complete frauds, which is sad because the studio and several of their teachers are genuine and respectful. I've supported the business for years and paid for countless of my clients to practice there but the smugness and disregard in fixing issues when they arise and their lack of professionalism is like none I've seen in true yoga practitioners. Years ago, Kendra's true care for women in general was revealed when, unlike all of her counterparts, she decided to commit to the Bikram person and his name despite his proven mistreatment of women. She indicated that it was of no consequence to her. This is the same person who shared her anger that Black women support the "white" yoga studio on H street, not realizing that the owners there are far kinder than she has ever been to Black women as they have opened up their studio to disadvantaged women that I serve for free, while she charged hundreds of dollars to serve the same community. The last straw for me was when one of her teachers accidently signed me up for a direct debit program and even after showing proof that this was done, she continued to charge my card and refused to return my calls and emails to discuss. Character, honesty, and care matters. Kendra and Melanie operate with none of the above.

Review of Pilates classes -…read more Thank goodness this place is here. Without it I would have continued my slide into flabbitude and be making regular trips to buy new pants and I hate shopping. At first, I wasn't crazy about it. Or rather my snoozing core muscles were like "Jules. Seriously, WTF? We're trying to sleep under this nice warm layer of doughnuts and beer you've draped over us." And neither teacher I've had there is inattentive, meaning you can't get away with slacking. Now I absolutely hate to miss this class (although I still think Herr Pilates was a sadist). The weekend schedule is convenient and it is near Yes! market so you can get a healthy snack after class.

I have been so grateful to have a local yoga studio in Hyattsville…read more Newbies are welcome. The class sizes are small, so you get lots of attention so you can improve. There are classes for all different levels of experience, and the instructors tell you how to make your poses more challenging or a little easier depending on what's right for you. I really like my instructor, Meghan Mullen. She is very knowledgable and sensitive to the individual needs of her students. I've seen her adjust our workout for the evening based on the mood the class seems to be in. I am not looking for an intense workout, so I am in the beginner/mixed level class. I find I actually am getting a workout and my posture is improving, but I leave the class feeling relaxed, not exhausted. Yoga Space is the highlight of my week, every week. Your first class is free, so you have nothing to lose. At $10 per 1.5 hour session, the value is unbeatable. You pay the individual instructors so you can bring cash or write a check. No credit cards. There is street parking.

OVERALL: good workout but it's more like stretch Pilates…read more PROS: - small studio with I believe only 7 reformers = lots of individualized attention - if you're new to Pilates the individualized attention is great and adds to a safe and welcoming environment - clean - friendly staff - socks on pilates (they sell sticky socks) - great 3 class for $79(?) promo CONS - fills up quickly bc there are only 7 reformers - it's not as hard as solidcore. I did both beginner classes here and solidcore and found that while I got a little burn/soreness the day after, District Pilates felt more like a stretch Pilates class. Solidcore was harder and I really felt I was working my entire body - wish they had followed up after my 3 day promo was up Overall a good starting point and would recommend for starting out.

There are 7 reformers (yay small classes) with a chair and a ton of props to use throughout the workout. I've been to a few of the instructors and liked them all. The workout is challenging and you can really feel your legs, arms, glutes working in each posture. The studio has lovely and colorful art work and small seating area at the front. If you are looking for a good reformer workout I highly recommend this studio. Location: Conveniently located in Logan circle with plenty of street parking and many restaurants nearby to try after your class.
