Easily one of the best yoga experiences I've had in DC - I came here using a class pass, and now compare other yoga classes I take to the one I took here! The instructor was amazing, I felt like she was clearly extremely experienced, doing the practice along with us so we could watch her, and she narrated every single thing she did which was incredibly helpful. I honestly felt like my yoga practice improved after this one class due to how she explained things, including how to breathe during yoga. ^And, she did this all while sounding calm and cool and yoga-esque. The vibe of the studio itself is also wonderful, I love all of the natural light. I would love to return and I'll probably try out their sound bath class too!

Came here for a couple classes when I was in town for work. I really liked the vibe and it was close Tommy hotel. I can recommend this spot! I heard they have a sound bath class of Thursdays that is supposed to be pretty good. Can recommend for sure!

Great yoga classes and instructors. Unfortunately their website has so many technical issues it's tough to book online.

I've been a devotee of Flow for the last twelve years or so, with a five-year hiatus while I was…read moreliving on Capitol Hill. It's a wonderful studio. The classes are rigorous and the practitioners are all serious about yoga. I'm always learning and pushing and improving at Flow, and I absolutely prefer it to any other studio in DC. There are many outstanding teachers offering a range of different styles, from Jiva to Rocket to Dharma, and it's a great bonus that the studio supplements these yoga classes with cardio options (Flow Fit or Pilates). I adore Mimi Reiger's classes because they are so exhausting, but there are many terrific instructors, including Cory Bryant, Jen Rene, Angela Cerkevich, Alicia Moyer, Sam Breschi and Chris Reber. My best advice to those interested in trying out Flow is that yoga newbies should probably be careful about taking intermediate classes. There is some instruction offered in them, but they aren't intended to teach the basics of a safe practice. If you are misaligned, you are extremely unlikely to get a correction in a class of 40+ practitioners. On the other hand, if you have a halfway strong practice, it can be really inspiring to learn from watching other, more advanced students in the class. I've tried a number of crazy modifications that I would never have thought to try out after watching someone next to me pull it off. On the downside, there are also occasionally some disrespectful practitioners (usually guys, let's face it) who will be falling out of headstands onto your mat or whacking you in the head with their feet. This is something that I've encountered more at Flow than at any other studio. You absoutely have to be able to tolerate a degree of crowding and chaos, so if that's a turnoff, I'd steer clear of the busier classes. It's also not a particularly friendly place. (I'm so surprised to read other reviews that say it is!) The staff are cheery, of course, but I rarely see people chatting and teachers will often actually instruct you to make eye contact with the person next to you at the beginning of class, because otherwise it wouldn't happen. There is a sense of community, but it's one that is definitely based on the routine of getting in, sweating and getting right on out. I've been practicing at Flow for the better part of a decade -- and I feel like it is my yoga home. But I'm always surprised when someone speaks to me hile I'm there. I don't mean that as a bad thing - but be forewarned that Flow is much chillier than other studios I've practiced at. This is a competitive not a supportive environment, and even I (former ballet dancer with 15+ years of yoga behind me) often feel a little intimidated. I wholeheartedly recommend Flow to anyone who's looking for a challenging practice and strong instruction without a lot of frills.

If it wasn't for the welcoming atmosphere and convenient location of Woodley Park Yoga, I don't know if I would've kept up my practice. As a newbie to yoga, I take the beginner class on Saturdays at 11am and the guided quarter primary class on Tuesdays at 7pm, both taught by Elsie. She has a calming voice, goes over the poses for new folks, and encourages you through the more difficult poses. The beginner class is easier if you've at least tried yoga at another studio or at home with YouTube videos. Be prepared to sweat a little! The studio is sizeable and allows 13-15 people max depending on the class. You can store your yoga mat in the back room, and there are wipes for your mat. I don't usually see blocks or towels readily available, but ask if you need them. The studio is on the third floor of a four-story building in Woodley Park, above Uni Sushi (no elevator). There's a small bathroom in the back of the studio. If I can think of only one downside, it's not being able to pay for classes online in advance, even though you can reserve your spot online. You need to go to the studio and purchase classes directly with the teacher, which takes time before/after class if you're waiting for others to pay too. Better to just buy a pack of 5, 10, or 20 classes if you plan to come back regularly. Checking in relies a bit on the honor system: you write your name on a card and the number of classes, then cross each number off when you show up to class. Whether your a seasoned yogi or a newbie like me, I highly recommend dropping in Woodley Park Yoga for a class!

I've only been going for two weeks, but I've tried a variety of morning, afternoon and evening classes. I was looking for instructors that push you, yet understand if you have injuries or days you just need to take it easy, and I definitely found all the instructors to be that way. RSVP for Class I would definitely recommend signing up for class in advance. So far I've only been to a few packed classes (Sunday morning and Friday evening), but I'm sure there are other times that are pretty popular. They do allow someone in from the waitlist if you arrive early. Arriving Early I'd recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to get a good spot, but I also got there right on time for one early morning class and was fine getting in. The Studio Space The space is not huge, but they do a great job making it feel peaceful with plants and natural light. Hard wood floors and an angled roof make it feel nice and cozy. Even in 100 degree weather, the AC was working well. I like that the instructor is in the middle so everyone can see them as both sides of the studio face in. Front Desk Friendly and helpful front desk volunteers. A Couple FYIS: 1. Four Sets of Stairs Walk-Up For me, walking up four sets of stairs is a great cardio add-on, but FYI if you aren't in the mood to walk up that many stairs. 2. Newbie Offers Check out their website for their introductory offers as they don't all appear on the Mindbody app, and you can only use one. They're very strict about it. Final Verdict Love this yoga studio! They have the widest variety of times for yoga and a lot of great teachers. Also, love that there's a community feel here - instructors and yogis are all friendly and laidback.

The temperature should be from 60-65, and anyone getting a good sweat and workout in would understand why that's ideal. Here, I was literally dripping sweat after a couple of sets on the leg press. No cardio before. Ridiculous. Oh, and the towels to dry off all the sweat? They were full size. That's all they had. No regular towels for the hot gym that causes you to drip sweat. I've lived in Texas, California, and Arizona--all of which were just as if not more hot than the DMV, with sufficiently cooled gyms. All I keep getting from gyms around here when I ask are excuses. I'm tired of it. It's unacceptable for a large corporate gym. If anyone knows of a COLD gym to lift at please, let me know.

I called the club and asked to cancel, they referred me to their Gm who confirmed via email that my membership was cancelled (with 30 days notice which was fine with me). Life is good right? Then the drama starts... This email was on 3/11/25 so any reasonable person would thing it was cancelled 4/11/25. Instead they hit my Amex on 4/25/25 for the nexts months membership. I email the GM multiple times with no response (again I'm now traveling constantly so coming in person is not an option). Finally at my wits end I dispute with Amex. Amex approves the dispute with my proof in writing (and blocks all further charges from them). Then not only did they ghost me. Their 3P harasses me for payment on a membership I have clearly cancelled (in writing). And threatens me with collections. When I forwarded them the written confirmation of cancellation they stated that it wasn't sufficient and not in the clubs policy - I have to pay $450+ despite having written documentation my cancellation. WHAT?! So hear me out - an employee, at the club. With a club email said my membership was cancelled. Why am I now being threatened with collections for $450+ because of this and they refuse a Golds gym email as proof of cancellation! No one will call me back from the gym, and their 3P is abysmal. This is the horror story you hear about gym memberships. People screw up, but honor the screw up - especially when it's in writing. Spend the $ and go to equinox - this gym and their admin function is trash
