Have you ever been to a haunted house that has not one, not two but- FIVE different haunted house…read morewith five different themed bars each with its own speciality shots and cocktails, and it's own tiny nightclub? Then you need to go here!! I have been to factory of terror since I believe 2018 at Christmas time. They used to have a Krampus haunted house. Now they have Christmas experience for all ages. This year's Halloween haunted attraction was awesome. It was not the scariest but it was the most fun! My friend and I decided this year to go to a different haunted house every weekend this year. This was hands down our favorite. You walk in the gates and before you can even get inside there is a carnival themed bar with very creepy clowns. I had the orange screamcisle drink. You can hang out there or go inside the factory. Then inside you wait a bit and get your picture taken (for purchase at the end) then poison ivy's bar which is like a creepy garden bar. We had more cocktails and test tube shots. Then you get in line for the first haunted house - this one was an actual "house". All of the themed bars match the theme of the haunted house. The second haunted house was a factory. The third is a New Orleans cemetery. After that you head to the bourbon street area that has a bar, some vendors, a fortune teller, a lot of seating areas to hangout and a mini nightclub. We had so much fun here! We had hurricanes to drink and did some dancing. Then you move on to the fourth haunted house that is a "house" and hall of mirrors. The final you go through a pirate themed haunted house with special fog effects that make it look like you're walking through water. The final stop is a pirate ship bar - we had rum runners! You can tell they spend a lot of money on the decorations and the costumes are good too! There are definitely some jump scares. We were pretty scared at times. We were there for about 4 hours - you don't have to stay that long but we stopped to hang out at each bar. The wait for each haunted house isn't more than 20 minutes. I can't wait to return for their next event!

Everything was amazing..loved it all..best fun I had in forever..thanks factory of terror you all…read moreare great.

Hauntville Haunted House - Wicked Clowns in 4-d

Reason being I moved out of Ohio and before that I lived about three hours away from it's old location, near (now) Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky. That said, it impressed me even then with its combo stylishness/slyness. It's not enough to just scream and pop out. That's cheap. You have to be creative and use standard props in an interesting way. Hauntville did and does this. I visited them this Halloween season in the Elyria location and despite being woefully understaffed the creativity remained in high order. one of the most interesting psychological elements was in the Prison house. Not to spoil the surprise but the Warden character (good actor, btw) was always in an "elevated state," making the customer feel more helpless. Little atmospheric touches like this abound, especially in the succinct but suspenseful "Unknown" pitch black maze with multiple awesome "fun house" elements mixed in. Hauntville has HIDDEN RIDES within a few rooms. So fun. AND more BIG HEAD PUPPETS than any other haunt which are more customizable than animatronics, especially when the actors are strong and they are here. You can tell they care. Most of them could improv for days, especially the ticket taker at the Haunted Bayoo/Shanty house. (How many people can riff about "sister-cousins" breathlessly for ten mins straight?) Shout-out to Kristi for really making me feel welcome and appreciated.

I'm not a fan of being scared by loud noises and there were a TON of horns and whatnot. Hauntville had a lot of unique scares and things that were different than other houses. The actors with the chainsaws touched your legs with the fake saws and there were a couple big objects that ran right into me.

We did the haunted trail during the "family friendly" daylight hours (no actors), games, and Little Green Choo ride. The park system and volunteers must have spent a lot of time preparing for this event. The haunted trail was elaborate and amazing. The trail is wagon/stroller friendly, (the walk-thru side attractions are not), but it is quite scary even during the 'family friendly' hours, so I wouldn't recommend it for young children. The bubble machine, tricycle race track, and carnival games are all perfectly suited for the younger crowd though, as was the train ride. I also really enjoyed seeing many well-constructed child-sized Halloween character photo-ops. When we left the park around 8:00pm, the line for the haunted trail was very long, and the line of cars down Diagonal Rd. waiting to get into the parking area was even longer. They stop letting people line up at 9:30pm, so I would advise arriving far in advance of that to allow for slow entrance to the parking area and probably a line at the ticket booth. They made an announcement (maybe around 6:30pm, but I'm not sure) allowing people to queue up for entrance to the haunted trail once it turned 'scary' at 7:00pm, so I would go early for the shortest wait. Cost is $2 per person, free for 3 and under. Games and food are extra. There is a significant amount of walking involved from the parking area to the ticket booth and then to the attractions, so this event is probably not a good choice for those with mobility issues, although they do have a handicapped parking area and accessible restrooms available.

I asked her if it was worth it and she said, "I think so". I wasn't sure, but for only $10 more per person, we went ahead and bought fast passes. On a non-busy night, I wouldn't suggest that, but on this night, it was totally worth it. The construction of the buildings throughout the place was very well done. Top notch in terms of build quality - they spared no expense, even of the places out in the woods. They were built to last. The wait in each line was about 30 minutes long. With the fast pass, we walked straight past the line and there was no waiting at all. That was a total win and my family was very appreciative of the additional investment. We were in and out of the place in just over an hour. Otherwise, it would've been closer to three hours. First, we rode the hay ride, which included actors chasing you and telling gruesome stories along with animatronics. People were screaming and trying to hide from the monsters, but there is nowhere to go on a hay ride. Chainsaws. Lots of chainsaws. Next, we walked the haunted trail, which was pretty cool. Then we visited the haunted house. It was very cool. The actors pay much more attention to people who are act scared, so there's a pro tip for you. Don't act scared and they won't bother you. Afterwards, we munched on some chili cheese fries and regular french fries while sitting around the warm bonfire. They were pretty tasty. I definitely recommend this place if you haven't visited before.
