Have you ever been to a haunted house that has not one, not two but- FIVE different haunted house with five different themed bars each with its own speciality shots and cocktails, and it's own tiny nightclub? Then you need to go here!! I have been to factory of terror since I believe 2018 at Christmas time. They used to have a Krampus haunted house. Now they have Christmas experience for all ages. This year's Halloween haunted attraction was awesome. It was not the scariest but it was the most fun! My friend and I decided this year to go to a different haunted house every weekend this year. This was hands down our favorite. You walk in the gates and before you can even get inside there is a carnival themed bar with very creepy clowns. I had the orange screamcisle drink. You can hang out there or go inside the factory. Then inside you wait a bit and get your picture taken (for purchase at the end) then poison ivy's bar which is like a creepy garden bar. We had more cocktails and test tube shots. Then you get in line for the first haunted house - this one was an actual "house". All of the themed bars match the theme of the haunted house. The second haunted house was a factory. The third is a New Orleans cemetery. After that you head to the bourbon street area that has a bar, some vendors, a fortune teller, a lot of seating areas to hangout and a mini nightclub. We had so much fun here! We had hurricanes to drink and did some dancing. Then you move on to the fourth haunted house that is a "house" and hall of mirrors. The final you go through a pirate themed haunted house with special fog effects that make it look like you're walking through water. The final stop is a pirate ship bar - we had rum runners! You can tell they spend a lot of money on the decorations and the costumes are good too! There are definitely some jump scares. We were pretty scared at times. We were there for about 4 hours - you don't have to stay that long but we stopped to hang out at each bar. The wait for each haunted house isn't more than 20 minutes. The scariest thing about Factory Of Terror were the lines. A cameo for the drunk workers at every bar and opening line and who could forget the smell of pot and cheap cigars. I was honestly exited to come back after three years of not being able to go to a haunted house(due to Covid). I remember it being a great experience and how the actors were behind every nook waiting for there next scare the staffing was great and the lines were not long at all.the scare factor was just as good as everyone said in the past. Although I've said all these amazing things It all changed after last night. I wanted to enjoy a nice weekend and do something just before Halloween. If your looking for a haunted house I advise you go somewhere else. I know inflation has made everything more expensive but I eighty dollars for two general admission tickets is a bit ludicrous but I thought " hey maybe the have got a bunch of new attractions or more quality actors" but it seems the only thing the money is Going to is there pockets( and more drinks). The theme was the exact same as previous years and the lack of actors who decided to work were unenthusiastic and we're not scary at all. I feel like the ratio of actors to people were lower than usual. I was willing to give them a benefit of the doubt since I came on the weekend before Halloween and got tickets one of the latest time slot until I saw 5-6 actors sitting at every single one the bars. Even the "security" guards were loaded up with shots in there vest it was more of a bar than a haunted house. The scare factor may have been lacking and the workers may have been drunk but the worst part of the experience was the lines. Three hours just to get to the first attraction. I understand it was going to busy but its a bit ridiculous to wait in line for that long. I went to universal horror nights and didn't wait that long for one of the attractions. They need to cap or at least reduce the amount of tickets sold instead of money laundering. I hate to call out a company like that but I've never waited that long for something I spent good money on. I really enjoyed the first experience I had here and it seemed like they had there s**t together then. I have no idea what changed all I can say is I do not recommend coming here. Awesome place!!! Definitely an amazing building with several little houses to visit inside. The workers did an awesome job scaring us!! They didn't touch us but got close enough to freak us out. The workers did an awesome job keeping groups separated enough to not ruin it for other groups. Unfortunately we were stuck next to a previous employee from years before that told us what was going to happen next. It's not the workers' fault for this, so we had to tell them to go in front of us so they wouldn't ruin the rest of our haunted experience. Costumes are pretty realistic and the props were amazing! My boyfriend begged me to go here back in October. It was fun and definitely terrifying. The jump-scares were pretty great. I had a tight grip on my man's arm/jacket the whole time, because it was really scary! I hate haunted houses, but it was definitely an interesting experience. I found the overall experience to be really great! The 5 haunted houses were pretty well done in terms of scenery. However, a few comments: 1) The scarers were ... weird. Very few of them did something genuinely frightening. Most of them just gave me weird looks or would say "hi" in a really high pitched voice. However, there was one who rubbed his slimy, sweaty body all over me and caused me to smell like I hadn't showered in weeks for the rest of the evening. I was disgusted more than scared. I told him to get off of me because I was grossed out by the fact that I was used as a human sweat rag, and he did it again. I would understand if this were for the purposes of scaring or making me feel uneasy. However, there really should be some form of disclosure saying to wear clothes you'd rather burn than wear again after being used to wipe down a stranger's putrid secretions. 2) The port-a-potty situation is already kind of gross. It significantly worsened the experience that one of their staff came to shake it while I was in there. I genuinely thought that they were going to tip it over. This was outside of the building itself, and I thought this was highly inappropriate. There was no reason to do this, and had I known, I don't think I would've gone to this place at all. There is some amount of privacy to be expected from a restroom and I was already quite underwhelmed by the available facilities, but that crossed a line. At $30 a ticket, the least that could be done is providing a real restroom where patrons never question if they'll leave covered in the fecal matter of strangers. That's more of a health hazard than a scare. Aside from these disgusting and disturbing experiences, the quality of the houses is quite high. The scenery and special effects are awesome, and the bar in the middle made for a great time! There were some really neat animatronics and the placement of them was excellent. I got several good jump scares from those - arguably more than the actors, who apparently can't be bothered to do much more than say "hi" in a high-pitched voice, grunt and snort in ears, shake port-a-potties, and rub sebaceous fluid on patrons. Overall, I would say it was fun. I had a good time. There were lots of jokes and laughs and lots of scares for the group I was with. I don't consider it a waste, by any means, but there should probably be a meeting or something with the actors to discuss behavior that violates boundaries even for a haunted house with known touching. There are some things that should just be common sense, but since it's hard to guarantee that people have that, a formal discussion may behoove these folks. Happy spooky season! read more

Factory of Terror has four separate phases: Portal to Insanity, Industrial Nightmare, Mahoning Rd. Massacre, and Judgment Day 3D. The Portal to Insanity was a very large house of mirrors. There was a continuous heartbeat thumping that could be felt in your bones and you were completely unable to tell the difference between a mirror and a clear path in front of you. Since there was not a single path through to the exit it was extremly difficult to find the way out. The Industrial Nightmare was a disappointment as it wasn't much more than a room full of props. The Mahoning Rd. Massacre was pretty massive in size. While there were plenty of props, jumps and scares it could have used a lot more human bodies to increase the realism of it. The effects in Judgment Day 3D were expertly implemented. The walls, monsters, and decorations were painted orange and green so with the 3D glasses things jumped off the walls out toward you. Fixtures moved as you walked by creating a surreal feeling. Room after room of 3D effects gave Factory of Terror an excellent finale. read more

Let me begin by saying this was one of the best haunted experiences I've had in a long, long time. We purchased discount vouchers through Yelp and saved $4 per ticket. Our cost was $23 per ticket, which, after the experience, I found reasonable for the entertainment value alone. Doors opened at 7pm and we arrived at the parking area around 7:10pm. The lower lot was already full but upper parking was fine. As I understand it, parking was free to 7:30pm and then $5 per vehicle after that. At our arrival, the ticket line was about 10 deep and the voucher/internet ticket line was 2 deep so our wait was minimal. There were port-a-potty's at the ticket line and then directly before the building entrance. As we entered the building, we were greeted with haunted staff that immediately began the experience. While in line, there were more staff that walked around and creeped everyone the hell out, which made waiting bearable, along with props of hanging body parts and gross things of similar nature. Overall, our initial wait was about 1.5 hours to reach the first of 6 haunted areas. Oh, it was sweetest day so everyone received a complimentary bar of chocolate while waiting in line ... YUM !!!! Each of the haunted areas were VERY well put together with fine details that made it all blend together. I spent a good portion of my time admiring all the gory props, in and amongst being scared by all the actors, who, incidentally, played well with our group and made it very entertaining. After 3 haunted areas, we entered an area where we could purchase refreshments and take pictures with some props. Surprising to most, the prices were reasonable with a bottle of water being $1, which was well received after all the screaming we all had done up to this point. The props were fun and well lit, making the end picture appear to have a very professional feel to it. Again, to me, its all about the details that were not overlooked by FOT that continue to impress. The last 3 zones were put together as well as the first 3. None of the areas appeared to have been assembled in haste, providing a keen sense of reality to each area, which, when given time to adjust, heightened the experience. The exit was uneventful, which was somewhat of a bummer. I figured it would have ended on a "pee your pants" barrage of clowns (given the latest news reports), chainsaws and extreme finale ... nope, you simply turn a corner and, "oh, this must be the end because there's the parking lot, harrumph." The only aspect that completely turned me off, aside from the exit, was, while walking through some of the areas, (and let me preface this by saying they had small delays between group entry into each zone), the staff allowed groups to catch up, essentially having a long line of participants. This completely took away from the group experience and I would suggest better monitoring by the staff to delay groups inside the zones to prevent this occurrence. I understand this is a challenge but would likely provide a better experience for all. We got to the parking lot around 10:30pm and headed home, but not before getting a quick look at the lines. HOLY CRAP !!!! The line to get into the building had backed up to the ticket line and the ticket line was around the corner heading toward the parking lot. Getting there at 7pm, you get a respectable 90 minute wait. Apparently getting there around 10pm probably gets you a 3 hour wait. At any rate, this is a great haunted experience that I would recommend to no one younger than 14 years of age. Small children, in my opinion, should not participate as you are immersed heavily in adult-oriented gore and horror that make a haunted house so enjoyable for those of us that are no longer as innocent and pure. This place will definitely scare the pee out of you !!!! Despite minimal shortcomings, I give this experience 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5) and would encourage anyone looking for a good scare to visit ... but arrive early! read more

We ordered tickets for a Friday at 7. We got there about 640pm. Not a ton of people yet. We purchased the speed pass, which in the 7pm slot on a Friday, we didn't need. I am a haunted house enthusiast and wasn't sure what we were going to get, as there are such mixed reviews. I can't speak for times when it's busier and very crowded, but I would 100% recommend going when it's less busy. There were people before us and behind us in line, but we were spaced out enough that we never saw anyone else when we were in the houses, at all. It was like we were in there alone with the actors, which was really cool. There were a lot of animatronics, but lots of actors as well. Since we were so spaced out, they were able to focus a lot of attention on us. Only 1 actor out of them all broke character. I definitely jumped many times and so did my husband. They had scenes with water, a mirror maze, and a ton of other really cool scenes. I was actually impressed. This attraction had many things that others don't. The bars in between were also cool. We don't drink, but we sat and had a Red Bull in between 2 houses. The atmosphere is perfect. Again, it wasn't packed. People weren't drunk because it was so early. I can't speak for times later in the evenings or Saturdays when I'm sure it's super busy. We enjoyed our time and I would definitely return. read more

We attend haunts all around the country and made a special trip here because of all of the good Press and recommendations, but were disappointed. It's a very average haunted attraction. It's got some great visual moments and really elaborate puppets, set and tech at points and then there are large sections lacking creativity. There were a handful of very talented actors, but overall most had no idea what they were doing. It really felt that they lacked proper training. One entire walkthrough was basically growling. The maze with the large gargoyles in front had some of the best actors and one incredibly unprofessional actor (the first scare when you walk in) was literally playing on her cell phone and looked up annoyed when we stared at her waiting for her to do something and then waved at us as if to say, "move along, stop bothering me." I did enjoy the mirror maze and some of the floor and wall effects. I felt the use of vertigo tunnels and airbags was excessive and ineffective. There were A LOT of very loud sounds throughout that eventually became less of a jump scare and more of a headache. (Literally my ears are ringing and I have a headache and we left 30 minutes ago.) One of the most frustrating things about the event was the theming inside each walkthrough. It was very difficult to figure out what was going on because they were divided up as if to have distinct themes but once inside each maze seemed to change within itself as if they didn't really know what story they were telling. Stronger theming within each maze could help the actors make stronger character choices. Overall Factory Of Terror seemed to be run by nice people that have a passion for haunting, but need some tweaking and the actors need training. We have attended a few other Ohio haunts and so far the scariest is Lewisburg Haunted Cave which actually is at least a 45 minute walk though. Since Factory of Terror claimed to be so long we expected it to be longer than the cave, but it wasn't. It was multiple smaller haunts under the same roof. read more

We've been here 3 times over the past few years. It's a big venue covering a big area. Halloween was good when we went a few years ago. We went to the Christmas themed event this December and it's excellent!!! We're actually going a second time this month. If you get tired of the sickening sweet Xmas decor and songs and have a sense of humor it's hilarious! The employees dressed up are extremely into their roles. They've added a bar about half way in between the walk throughs. The Santa there was over the top interactive and so funny. If you've ever been to Halloweekends at a Cedar Point, this is much much better in my opinion. read more

As a HUGE fan of Halloween and Haunted Houses, this one is pretty good. The Portal to Insanity was my favorite part of the four phases. The statues and props in the atrium are VERY COOL and at the end of the entire house, there is something really awesome to see as you are exiting - I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but make sure you stop and see before you walk out to your car!! The mirrors in the Portal to Insanity were the highlight of the night! We laughed our butts off trying to find our way through this!! Some of the props are just amazing!! I will say two things: do not waste your money on the fast pass. The only true line is the first one to get into the actual building. The rest of the lines are super fast and it is not worth the extra money. Second, they do not do a stellar job of keeping people spaced out; if you are like me and do not like to have people rushing through it and hanging at your coat tails the whole way, this can be a difficult feat. I kept letting these people pass us, but then the next batch were just as anxious. There were so many people that wanted to fly right through this (why even bother spending the money if you are going to run through it???) and it was SUPER ANNOYING!!! The 3-D part was pretty cool, but again if you are rushed through, you cannot truly enjoy the whole experience. Overall, I liked it and if you have ever worked in a plant or factory before, you will have a real appreciation for this one!!! It takes you through the locker rooms, the offices, the high voltage areas - a lot of the props seemed real from back when it was truly a factory, and those aspects brought a lot to the experience. Update: 2017 The Factory of Terror is still, by far, one of the BEST haunted houses out there. We continue to go every year. The only thing preventing me from giving a full five-star review is that they do not space you out enough and people still want to rush through it like their pants are on fire. It's a shame. How this averages 4.5 stars (before my review is beyond me). Not at all worth 4 hours and not at all worth $30. Would not recommend unless going on a weekday and maybe with a 2 for 1 Groupon. Perhaps if it was called 'Factory of Waiting' or 'Factory of cool sets but no scares' I would rate it higher. This had to be the most over-hyped and underwhelming 'haunted' house (and I use that term loosely) I've been too. EVER. Seriously I want my $30 back (yes, it's really $30). We took a large group of high schoolers this past Saturday (10/21/17). We went because someone saw that it was in the Guiness book of records. They claim it's the longest haunted indoor attraction in the world which is kind of an obscure, very niche record to have. Now if they meant longest wait for a haunted attraction I'd believe them. We arrived at the ticket window around 7:45 and there was maybe a 5 minute wait to buy. great start but it's all downhill from there. Then we walked to the front entrance where the wait still wasn't too bad (maybe 30 minutes). The fact that they had a single actor walking around (who we saw once in the 30 minutes) 'scaring' the line should've been our first warning. Here's another warning/tip: The front entrance is is NOT where the haunted house starts, it is where the queue starts. When we walked in, the not so scary ticket taker said it would be 2 hours until we saw a porta pottie. This led us to believe that we'd be through the whole thing in 2 hours (we wrongly assumed she meant the bathrooms were at the end). WRONG. I only wish it was 2 hours. We walked in and saw a long queue (about 10 rows deep) until you got to another section which is where we thought the haunted house started. WRONG again. It wasn't until we got up to row # 8 of that queue that we realized that we then had to wait in an even longer queue. All told I'm going to say it took us at least 90 minutes to get through that. So we're now 2 hours in and you guessed it, there was maybe 1 or 2 creatures walking around in the lines. Yet another warning sign. We finally get to the 'haunted' part of the haunted house and man was it underwhelming. The sets themselves were very detailed and actually quite cool. But that was really all there was. Hardly any actors in any of the scenes, just lots of dummies laying the scenes, not a whole lot of actors. And when there actually were actors, they were really all just walking around talking gibberish vs. trying to actively scare people (it is, after all a haunted house). This part was maybe 15 minutes. There's 5 different 'haunted' areas of this place and apparently the first section I described above is actually parts 1 and 2. But more importantly, 5 different sections means, you guessed it, 5 different waiting areas (Hooray). We get to part 3 and there was maybe another 10 minutes of waiting in line which made sense. After all, any logical human being would think the big wait is up front and then people just continue to flow through all 5 sections. WRONG. Part 3 was a major let down. Basically you walk through a narrow hall zig zagging back and forth in pitch black for 1-2 minutes then get more zig zagging halls but this time with a little light and a couple of actors. Total in there was maybe 5 minutes? Now the fun part. We get through part 3 and there again looks to be a decent line that goes through another wall that you don't really see behind until you get closer. And wow, what a sight. There is a sea of humanity and queue lines going back and forth in this large area. This part took 2 hours to wait in! It was unbelievable. I have no f'ing idea why it was taking so long except that the 'fast pass' line (which people pay an extra $10 for) seemed to be almost as long as the regular line and they were letting more of them in. So we wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Are you sensing a pattern here? Around midnight we get to the entrance and it was again incredibly underwhelming. Very few actors, nice looking backdrops and maybe 1-2 scares. We walk out of there in to part 5 which was again very little wait. We go through and to be honest we were all so tired and thirsty and hungry that nothing stood out except there were again so few scares it seemed like it was a kids 'non-scary' haunted house. Oh yeah, all the cool videos they show while waiting in line? All crap. They show a guy with a chain saw coming at people and then a young lady talking about how scary that was. I wish. The chain saw guy was at the very end of the section 5, literally standing in the hall way, not coming at anyone with what looked to be a toy chain saw (the kind you buy an 8 year old for Xmas) that you couldn't even hear. Bottom line: I get that we came on probably one of the busiest days of their season but of the 4+ hours we were there, I would say we spent 3.5 hours in lines and 30 minutes actually going through what ended up being a really disappointing and non-scary attraction. read more

Factory of Terror is by far the scariest and best haunted house that I've ever been to in my entire life. It is HUGE, as it is in a giant former factory building. It is divided up into 5 haunted houses under one roof, and each one was amazing!!! The acting was top-notch, the costumes were excellent, and the sets were the best that I've ever seen in my entire life. Vivid, disorienting, and well layed-out sets combined with great acting, great animatronics, and a huge space to work with makes this haunted house an absolute winner!!! read more

My nieces 13th birthday was Saturday, October 14th. All of her cousins surprised her that night after her party with this haunted house, Factory of Terror. Website said free admission on your birthday. Even with her shirt stating it was her 13th birthday, and having pictures of her party they just left, the cashier refused her free admission ON her birthday. The other 5 cousins paid for her and themselves the $30 admission fee. The haunted house is great, the "free birthday admission" lies were horrible. They said "anyine can wear a 13th birthday shirt". I attended this attraction around Halloween of 2015, and I've been debating sharing my experience. It was a scary feature, and not overcrowded like I've read in other reviews. However, the people I was with did not make me aware of how much freaking SCREAMING the actors were going to do. So many of them came up and screamed directly in my ear, causing me to have the reflex of attempting to strike out what was scaring me. I usually am not frightened of these sorts of attractions at all, but with it being so dark, and the actors choosing to "attack" from the back, rather than the front, I felt very cornered. Again, I was unaware of the "scare tactics" beforehand. So, after accidentally reflex-striking an actor twice, the actors, instead of escorting me out with security or realizing I was having a panic attack, told me "since you touch us, we're allowed to touch you now". This is ABSOLUTELY against facility rules, but I didn't know what to do, since I was the one at fault, pretty much. Soon, I walked ahead a bit with my friend and we reached an area with two "hillbilly" characters. One of them grabbed my friend and held her back from helping me while another one grabbed me and wouldn't let go, citing that I wasn't being very nice. He finally let me go and threw a real, metal trash can at my very fragile hip.* As I limped off, I was finally let alone, but I wanted to leave very badly, and I cried the whole time until we left. It's a good facility, but please be mindful that some actors don't follow the rules, and do not attend if you have anxiety. *History of bone defects in my right femur. read more

I've been coming to this haunted house with my boyfriend for 4 years now, after the last 2 years being a complete and utter shit hole we finally came to our senses and decided to never give this place another dime! We went tonight for glow stick night, where you go in with No light except a glow stick and the actors are allowed to grab you. From the very beginning it was backed up, crowded and nothing but off the clock actors walking through. The actors who were working were only focused on scaring their off the clock coworkers while the rest of us WHO ACTUALLY PAID MONEY TO BE THERE were left just waiting to for it to be over. We knew every person who was coming up, every scary thing ahead because the actors would not shut up. Once we finally had enough and said something to them myself and three other girls then got called a twat by one of the actors and told we were only there to bitch. I have never been vocal about how awful a haunted house was until tonight. I understand how easily it is for them to get backed up, i have worked several hauntes houses. But the actors behavior was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. They are supposed to be a reflection of their work place and because of their attitude and behavior they have lost so many customers, myself included. I've been to almost every major haunted house in ohio and this is by far the absolute worst haunted house I have ever been to. I highly advise you to go anywhere else but here. read more

I loved this so much! I went with my husband, his brother and his bro's wife. Loved the details and it wasn't crazy crowded. The makeup on the props and actors was very good. The dry ice was a little heavy in one room and there were a couple stretches of just blackness where you walk in pitch dark, which was a little scary. One of the guys kept massaging my right ear, another girl (who I thought wasn't even real, jumped up and grabbed me saying she wanted to slice my face off...and a guy near the end was determined to take my sis in laws shoe... Crazy. There was a couple tunnels that twirl and move and are very triply. I liked the breaks in between sessions, a lot of bathrooms available throughout. We bought a can of soda for a buck, so concession was reasonable. A few cool props set up to pose with for photos was cool. The only con, and I suppose this is the fault of the parents of those kids, was allowing children (around age 10 or so) behind us... Viewing half naked dead women and men and I just found it distracting and weighing morally since it was just so inappropriate for kids to be there. I'd say ages 14-16+ minimally. Ok this was the BEST haunted house ive EVER been to! Me my, husband and my 12 year old son went ind each haunted house section in factory was long and AWSOME! Each one was different and had its own scarry! I love the blackout and even the long lines weren't as bad because of the decor and people scaring you as you waited. We will definitely do this again! read more

The wait was EXTREMELY short which was really nice. I felt like the actors did a really good job scaring us and they had some pretty creative ways of doing it, too. Some of them gave us some good laughs as well! They had really cool props and special effects that I loved. I would definitely recommend this haunted house. read more

I used to love the Factory of Terror. I've gone every year for the last 7 years, sometimes twice. However, I must say that this year was a bust; the lines were moving extremely slow, and the Characters lacked enthusiasm. They were straight boring! I also felt like they were far and few between. This was the first time I went, and it was really fun! The decorations were phenomenal and the actors were great. There were a lot of good scares, especially in the first, third, and last room, and there were places where you would walk through and it would be completely dark. (The actors do touch you; not much, but if you're not a fan you maybe shouldn't come. Personally I don't mind it at all, it makes the whole thing more exciting!)
