As someone who just completed their 32nd move, I consider myself who has some experience in moving…read more And I say with full confidence, hire Big Lake Movers! From the initial outreach to get pricing and availability, they were VERY responsive. I found their pricing to be competitive with some and very low compared to some of the other area companies. I was able to schedule a Saturday morning move time with little advance notice. On the morning of the move, Nate and Marquis showed up before 8:30, and after an initial walk through to see what they would be loading, got right to work. Both Nate and Marquis were respectful and professional in their interactions, as well as the handling of my belongings. They were also very efficient. They started at my apartment at 8:30 a.m. and were done unloading everything at my new house, about 3 miles away, at 10 a.m. 90 minutes to accomplish what would have taken me and my rag tag team of friends several hours and lots of sweat and swearing to do. Tell your friends! Tell your family!! Big Lake Movers will help ease the inevitable stress that comes with moving and help alleviate some of the stress that comes with moving.

Very disappointed with them. I recently used them to move, which was the third time using them…read more This experience was the worse of the three moves. They left stuff at my old house and were called back to pick items up. I still had to move things myself the next day I went back to clean. Items were damaged, not wrapped in padded blankets, secured properly in the back of the truck, boxes fell on other things in the truck, you name it. They complained about things being heavy, moved furniture and broke it, instead of using two people to lift it. I could go on and on. Needless to say. I will be looking to another moving company for my next move. It's pretty bad when the owner calls you to ask if you can help load things on the truck or if you can take extra things in your vehicle. What am I paying a moving company for then?

We decided to pack up our own stuff but have them move the larger items. Scheduled a 6.5 hr slot for the Saturday and we finished in 5 hours. We provided Pizzas and beverages to the team, who were an amazing group of movers, very efficient and strong. Highly recommended! Thank you for an awesome job & fun day!

Then came packing and moving days. Now I would refer to this company as A Pickup and a Couple of Guys. They immediately started to complain about how much they had to pack and how they had to leave at 5 so they weren't sure they could get it done. China was packed using cloth place mats which they had to hunt to find since the china and place mats were in different parts of the house. There was plenty of bubble wrap available. Crystal was thrown in a box with packing paper. Items were moved from one part of the house to another to pack so when we unpacked we were not able to find complete sets of items. Sure enough, when 5 pm came the majority of packers left even though they had not packed any of our bathrooms and had left 4 kitchen cupboards untouched. Fortunately 2 of the other packers were responsible and finished up. The next day, the actual moving day, was a repeat. Complaints about how much stuff we had, they hadn't planned enough trucks, the boxes were too heavy. By 4:00, when we saw them passing a joint around we just wanted them gone. We are not naive but we didn't appreciate their vulgar language. On move in day they were expected between 8-9 AM. We had confirmed that time several times in advance. They did not show up until 1:30 PM. Every time we called to check we were told they were still loading the trucks. We now think they couldn't round up enough workers. Two furniture items were broken so they could not be used, 2 lamps were packed so poorly that the switches no longer worked. Several dishes and glasses were broken. We have taken pictures of all of the damage and submitted them multiple times to Nathan, the manager. He has not responded. No adjustor has come to analyze the broken pieces of furniture so we can get them repaired. We paid extra for breakage insurance so that was a waste of money.
