No more overnight camping. Long-term now. It has cleaned up considerably, beautiful quiet community. The store is see is for rent! Food would be a great add. This place was great until it got bought out. I stayed there during the transition. Once the new manager Jason took over, it went down hill fast. He likes to run around and threaten to evict people for no reason. I moved because of him. I will never stay there again. read more

We debated about whether to give 2 stars or 3. Really, it deserves 2.5 stars. Before we visited, we called to make sure it was open. Whoever answered was very friendly and helpful. We arrived after dark and drove around trying to figure out where the "campground" ended and the trailer park started. We finally found the tent spots and set up. We realized that most of these people live at the campground. Which was weird. Then, allllll night people were coming and going. And it seemed that they all drove big, loud trucks. We barely got any sleep. All in all, it was clean and served it's purpose but was overpriced, weird and loud. We were the only tent campers, but if there had been more than a couple, it would have been way too crowded and lacking privacy. I don't recommend this for anyone expecting an actual campground. read more

Stopped in at the campground Sunday night on a long road trip to joseph oregon 10/09/22, Glad I did.great place...I'd go back there. Quiet, out of the way lovely spot for a tent site.green plush grass. Fairly quiet except the occasional coyote and owl hooting. Nice helpful employees. Showers very small, but they worked and were hot. Grounds fairly well kept, didn't see any masks or anything else blowing in the wind.very pleased to see no one wearing those silly face muzzles that don't work anyhow. Seems the farther you get from Portland, the more freedom there is. I thank my lucky stars I'm moving from this cesspool of homeless, needles, shootings, riots, trash everywhere, and ridiculous democratic ideology. Not a huge selection at the store, but had the essentials For camping. unfortunately the restaurant was closed. Which was sad. But to be expected during the covidiot adventures. Overall it was good, relaxing, very close to Hat Rock State Park. Would definitely go back....which is key. read more

They had the cleanest bathrooms I've seen at an RV park. Showers were hot and good water pressure. The grass lots were a nice surprise. Fire pits on each site. Trees provided shade. We were bummed that the pool was closed for Memorial Day weekend but understand it's bc of COVID. Went to the river instead and that was even better for the kids as it had a safe area for them to play away from boats. read more

Park is clean, exceptionally quiet and has green grass everywhere, even the campsites. Roads are gravel. Wi-fi is weak, but works....half the time. Verizon signal very weak or not at all. Good water pressure (50 psi). 50 amp is strong, new power boxes. Pool is closed all year due to Covid. Very basic items in the store, and it is only open 3 hours a day, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., again, due to Covid. I suspect they are using Covid as an excuse to avoid the added store labor or pool maintenance. Washer $1.25, dry $1.50. Yes, there are several long term units but most are very clean. They need to open the pool and the store, 2 main assets....they can always limit the number of humans in a crowded area if they are paranoid, which is not even necessary. read more

I was expecting something horrible with the reviews posted. This place isn't that bad. The staff has always been cordial to me. They are more than accommodating for making reservations and always get back to me. Yeah it's older and there's people that live here,but everyone I've talked to has been friendly. Clearly a long term, low income, trailer park with a few extra spaces to allow overnighters. The guest services included but were not limited to: threats to charge for 2 spaces due to our tent being a foot into the adjoining (empty the entire stay) site, creepy drunken full time residents trying to get into the women's tent across from ours, tons of traffic including two school busses twice a day, and lawn care mowing and such at 9 am on our check out day (checkout was at 12). The customer service leaves a lot to be desired and the trailer park atmosphere, complete with drunken loudmouths and broken down vehicles really makes this place tough to ever want to go back to. The showers were hot and the restrooms were well lit and cleaned daily, though. read more

The camp found is quit a ways off the main highway. It has tons of trees. If you have Verizon you will only have 3g and 1-2 bars. The internet really sucks. The staff are very friendly and the price is very fair. read more

We were super disappointed with our stay here. As some other reviews mention, a good share of this park is full time residents. That might not be too bad except that they have old abandoned cars, run down trailers and messy yards. I could have probably dealt with all of that, even though it was a horrible eyesore everywhere you looked, except that on the two days my husband and I had off together in months we got to spend the entire time listening to the people in the space next to us build a deck off their trailer that is moored in this park. Another group of people were parked across from us and played amplified guitar and ang badly for hours on end. Not relaxing. Very frustrating waste of money. Will not ever return! read more

RV park with many permanent residents. The site had nice green grass, picnic table and fire pit. Plenty of room for our small trailer and a tent Bathrooms were clean and showers warm. There is also a small store. The people were very friendly. Not by the water but it is a good option as the neighboring state park does not have any camp sites read more

This place was very nice. People living their or the idea was interesting. Everything was ok. What wasn't ok was the internet. We had problems connecting trying to get work done and especially with the Verizon Network just wasn't working. For an RV site this place seems nice except roads are not paved on grounds. This was an issue when tent camping as gravel is not quiet. Bathroom and shower and pool was well kept. Tent sites have a light and electric. Don't forget your extension cord. read more

I will never stay here again. The fire pits weren't cleaned out and there was a ton of ash and that made it hard to start a fire. I can't believe the amount of people that think it's fine to smoke around the kids at the pool. I saw so many people smoking and it was honestly disgusting since kids were all over the place. read more

This is an RV park with a few tent sites available for the locals who want to party with their friends for cheap. Unfortunately, I was there with my family, which included three young children. The other campers smoked pot and yakety-yakked until 5am so my husband and I got not a wink of sleep. When I told the manager of the park she said she couldn't do anything about it because it was my word against theirs and they were free to stay up all night because it was a public space. She did offer to move us to a different campsite-- right next to the bikers who had also been up all night. No thanks! We left that day. We did get a refund for the night's fee, which was much appreciated. The pool was nice but not shallow enough for young children. The other campers also thought it was perfectly fine to smoke in and around the pool while there were kids in it. We picked this place because it was halfway between Seattle, where we live, and Boise, where my brother lives. I've never stayed at a Good Sam park but I have to say it was Bad Sam. I will never stay in one of these again. read more

The overnight spaces were all grass instead of gravel or asphalt. Very quiet and peaceful. The host was very friendly and helpful.

This small RV park is literally directly across the street from hat rock State Park. Rates are very reasonable. $28 for full hook ups on grassy area with trees. This is an older property that has been maintained but could use some updating. They do have a swimming pool. To me the water smelled kind of funky so we did not fill our RV tank. Free showers, againadequate but really they could be updated. Laundry was only 1.25 per load. They have an extremely minimal little store at the office but there is nothing close by in way of restaurants stores etc. There are some full timers but it did not in general have that sketchy scary feeling. I cannot believe this park is Good Sam approved. It's disgusting!! The pool is not heated as they advertise. It's run down, unkempt and filthy! The bathrooms were so disgusting that we were afraid to use them. We only stayed the one night as it was so gross. They have a fly problem, at certain times it looked like the ground was moving because there was so many flies. The "park store" was a waste of space. You'd think since they have such a fly problem the store might carry some type of fly spray, but no chance. It's very sad that such a nice piece of property is being neglected so bad. There are a lot of full time residents that look like trailer trash wannabes. Those sights are so messy and full of junk. Don't waste your time or money here, you'd be better off staying at the Wal-Mart parking lot! read more

Okay.. so this was not the nicest campground by any means. It appears that most people live here for lengths of time, and clearly the crotchety permanent residents are miffed by the presence of vacationers. We happened upon this place because it was the only option on our route home after a long drive. We were versed upon checkin about drug policies.... ummmm.. okay, is this a problem here???? It was 100+ degrees when we arrived so a dip in the pool was a plus. But three middle aged women traveling in two RVs - we were creepily watched by residents the entire time during our stay (the clearly permanent resident next to us was constantly watching us through the blinds in his rv, and followed us to the pool, then followed us back to our rvs trying to strike up inappropriate conversation). There were tons of kids here running around - they appeared to all be living at the rv park as well in one of the several dilapidated RVs not fot for movement. Although I was grateful for a place to park the rv for the night... i would go out of my way to avoid this park at all costs again. Creepy! read more

My husband and I stayed there the 14 15 16 of June, we were suspose to stay one more night but the place was awful so we left early, we would not have stayed the time we did but we had a family reunion and friends coming to see us. Some family was having a reunion with several tent sites and a couple RV spaces, we were in the middle of them in our tent, they were all drunk from 7AM to 2 or 3 Am, fighting between couples, there kids running thru our camp, dogs of all sizes running loose. The F work was said more times in 3 days than I have heard it my 62 years of life and in front of the little kids. The rules for the park states dogs must be on leashes and noise must be kept to a minimum so not to disturb others. The managers were never seen around the camp just in the store, when my husband said some thing to the woman there she could have cares less and did nothing. I grew up in Hermiston and for many years Hat Rock Camp Ground was the nicest place to go. We are so sorry this place isn't what it once was. We will never go back. Linda & Phil read more

We stayed in the park for 30 days. The staff is rude & extremely unhelpful. The bathrooms are "cleaned" daily, but nothing ever gets cleaned somehow. The owner of the park lives there, but doesn't exist unless he's coming out to yell at customers. There's a horrible stench that fills the sites surrounding the dump station. The park is mostly full of full timers that live in manufactured homes (in the park) so it feels like you're camping in the middle of a neighborhood. They do have a pool, but it isn't heated so it's pretty cold. We also had to clean the debris from the pool with the net before swimming every time we used it. Their website says they have an RV wash station & sell RV parts - which they don't (and of course we needed & were counting on). We were yelled at by both the owner of the park & the owner of the store on two separate occasions. Not to mention called "white trash" & told we needed to find a trailer park where we belong (because we have 2 small children ages 1 & 3). I could mention the good points to the park, but they were so heavily outweighed by the bad there's really no point. read more
