I stayed at Site #6 on August 3/4 (Saturday/Sunday) It's pretty open space and one of the farther site from the next one over. The view of Snake River is beautiful, you will see and hear trains, boats and traffic off Highway 12 all day and night. If you forget your alarm clock, the lawnmower will make sure you're up at 745am on Monday. The sound of the train will also keep you entertained. There's burn ban in the summer, but they allowed propane fire pits. Make sure you know the length of your trailers, the pull through we're spacious, there's a few site that we're very close to each other, but you can see that on the campground map before you book, so some of the reviews here are not true. The campground is very nice compared to some state and forest campgrounds that I've been to. The bathroom and showers were great, a nice plus for a Federal owned campground. Only one bathroom in the campground, the other one is in the day use area. Very Clean, the camp host goes around the grounds often on their utility cart and they are easy to find. The front check in office are staffed the whole day and the ladies were nice and informative. The camp Host were very nice! Very helpful and kept the bathrooms and all areas clean. It's an electric only hookup, there's water spigots nearby. The spiders were active and all over the place, and I think they are this time of the year. You will run into cobwebs. Keep your tents closed, there were mosquitoes, but not as bad as if you're in the forest. Overall this campground is very nice and I definitely would come back here if I need a place to stay for a few nights or months. Traffic, boats and train was noisy cause I was in a tent. Bring your swim suit, there is a swim area. Ice Harbor Dam is nearby and in the summer they have tours of the dam. The town of Pasco is a couple minutes away and they have awesome Mexican food places. Cellphone coverage with Verizon is good, you will be fine if you need to post all those pics you took for your Facebook, OF or your IG read more

Have you seen arachnophobia? I'm pretty sure it was filmed here. Seriously insane amount of spiders. So many. On the truck, on the trailer, in the kayaks, INSIDE my car. Literally everywhere. You could drive through the park and see everyone else sweeping and spraying everything they own, just like we were, to try to get rid of them. It's pointless, as they are relentless. And they are HUGE. My husband isn't weirded out by spiders and bugs, and he was struggling with them. He is currently pressure washing all of our vehicles that were there this weekend, and we are going to bug bomb inside the trailer as well. It's a shame that they don't do anything to combat the spider issue, because otherwise, it's a nice park, and great proximity for water sports. We definitely won't be returning. read more

SO. MANY. SPIDERS. Seriously, avoid this place at all costs. It's infested with Jurassic Park sized spiders and they are THRIVING. Seriously disappointing that the park rangers came around every couple of hours to ensure that no one was even an INCH into the road ways (literally telling people to move their trucks before they had even unhitched their trailer) but never sprayed ONCE for the damn spiders. We killed literally hundreds off our camper before leaving this morning and still killed probably 30 more once we got home. We will not be back, this was a terrible experience. We also couldn't even get in the water because of leeches and excessive amounts of bacteria. There are plenty of much nicer parks that aren't infested in the area. read more

The park has trash strewn around. Lots of cigarette butts. Lots of unruly and unsupervised kids. Spoke to the camp host about it and he told me that basically there was nothing that he could do. BUT he sure was all over it when my husband walked away from the fire ring to take the trash to the garbage can.... Not a nice guy. Very rude and condescending. People driving way too fast around the loop almost hitting my kids. Where is the host when that's going on?? sprinklers are a bummer... water is very inconvenient. ONE bathroom for whole park. We will not be back. Too bad I can't rate it a zero and even worse that I have to stay here for 3 more days... read more

At the campground for a family reunion that spanned mine and my husband's first anniversary. We are a gay interracial couple and along with us we brought my teenaged son from a previous marriage. It was a very special 1st anniversary as I was a widower and my family is so wonderfully accepting of my new marriage to a man. We waited til exactly midnight on our anniversary to share a toast with some cousins who were unable to attend the wedding. For this toast we had been given an 8 oz bottle of imported aged tequila as a wedding gift that we saved and split between 10 people each of whom I personally verified were of legal drinking age. The written rules say "no public consumption of alcohol". It was dark. We were on the camp site I had personally rented. Were on the very edge of the campground where even at this writing at 12:48 am: traffic noise is loud. We were animated enough that we got a noise complaint which was understandable. The camp hosts came along with a uniformed ranger of some kind to tell us to quiet down, which we did. But they lingered. We continued to chat in hushed tones. They lingered as if waiting for us to disperse, but they didn't ask us to disperse. We were in the middle of salutations and congratulations on our first anniversary. Had they moved on it would have been over. Peace and quiet. Then from the dark the female host yelled "go to bed" every bit as loud as we had ever been and from a place farther into the common area of the park. Then she and her male counter part began to approach us with increasing intensity to which our party responded with matched intensity as we had already complied and we felt harassed. The male host, although a retiree, was disproportionately agitated and charged my husband with such intensity and aggressive body language that my 16 year old son stepped in front of him to protect him. This escalated the situation as the uniformed guard also got involved and at least one more park host shouted threats from the dark. We asked the male park host a number of times to please back away and stop touching us but he didn't until he would go away and come back threatening us with bodily harm, federal arrest, citation and what ever else. The uniformed ranger had zero deescalation training and did far more to exacerbate the situation than solve the problem with her threats and borderline hysterics especially after we explained that she and the hosts had directly harassed and threatened children and seemed to target minorities. Even as I got my agitated husband to go into our tent she pursued because he "called her names" (which he had but this does not justify her behavior) Obviously by this time our family had dispersed. From speaking with the very emotionally labile guard we discovered that she was led to believe that we had been engaged "a few" times and refused to comply when, in fact, she and the park host engaged us simultaneously just one time. Even though the park host seemed too elderly to hurt us he went to great trouble to make sure we felt threatened. When they threatened to call actual law enforcement we told them they should because we were absolutely being harassed and our children felt threatened, they would not, and it took us another 20 minutes to get the ranger to stop trying to justify and excuse and deescalate herself from what looked like PTSD symptoms so she could collect herself and leave. It was so unprofessional and completely embarrassing. I would have had no problem redirecting my family if the employees had not chosen to escalate the situation. We will never rent a camp site at Hood Park nor any camp site in Washington state. read more

We were there June 22nd and June 23rd. The campground was well maintained and the common areas were clean. We had a view of the river and it was so peaceful. Good spacing between the camp sites. We enjoyed our experience and would recommend it for a nice get away. read more

I need to start off saying that the camp hosts are wonderful. All the following reviews have nothing to do with them and they did the best to their ability to make the stay as pleasant as possible. However. 1. No hammocks allowed. No hammocks! To me camping is not complete without the fire and hammock. 2. They have a sprinkler system that goes off in middle of night. The area you can put a tent is very small. Practically against the road. No. Not practically. It is against the road. Otherwise you will get soaked. It's an industrial style sprinkler. And then you are out of luck unless you don't mind your tent going up in flames. Because the area that does not get soaked in against the fire pits. The river is nice to float In A kayak. Keep in mind it is next to a highway. And across the river is a factory or something. If you have a RV this is a good place. Outlets at every site. A nice playground in middle toilets and showers that are decent. And movies every Saturday in summer. This place definitely has potential. But the sprinklers need to go. I won't return for that reason. read more

Nice campground areas - lots of grass and trees and rolling hills. THey have some scenic spots on the river, but not much for fishing off the shore - the shore line is gross and icky pretty much explains it. Lots of seaweed and plants makes it hard to fish or swim. The swimming area is pretty gross too - seaweed and super rocky and with all the boats there was oil in the water, gross. But the campground and showers were nice, and the boat launch was nice, fyi if you have kids there is a beaver family living in the bay between the boat launch and the swimming area, the kids watched them for hours. read more
