Recently, I forgot my policy and I went to a big store in order to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. There was no one in the plumbing department to assist me and I ended up getting the wrong parts. We were in search for a bold, modern wood dining table to get rid of our countryish one and found…read moreNew England Lumber in Mount Kisco back in July '21 to revamp our set with something more exclusive. The huge wooden table outside is a giveaway for what's to come and you'll notice exceptional designs that come at a price. These folks use real wood and no MDF or Particle Board crap. This is absolutely a premier treasure trove with humongous wood slab samples the same way there are smaller furniture pieces you can grab from the floor. We took a look at the intricate wood detailing and knew we were in the right place. Tried to speak to a floor person but the owner's wife suggested we speak to him directly as he has a better handle on design. He was busy so we scheduled an early Saturday afternoon appt to talk to him about style and price. Mauricio was welcoming, knows his stuff and answered all our questions. But between an extremely hefty kitchen gut job+repair+cabinets+labor, we didn't want to break the bank for a small dining table. So when we gave him measurements for a 5' wood table with black metal legs, we were looking at $3,150. I get it...it's custom made. Eyes wide open. Not ruling these folks out yet. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a great place to get lost for a couple of hours.

But with my…read morebusy work schedule, hubs had more flexibility to take the lead and visit these guys in person. We set our sights on a new and sleek kitchen counter 'do from these guys. Plus we had gotten subway tiles (another company) around the same time back in the Spring of '18 to pull the kitchen together for a finished and modern look. Yonkers Cabinets came highly recommended by our initial kitchen tile guy- so we knew we were getting top-notch here. Before anything, these guys did a fantastic job at ripping off the outdated countertops back then- in order to start with a blank canvas. End result was crisp and chic and to this day, the edges between our subway tiles and our countertop are perfectly sealed and that's thanks to these folks and the kitchen tile guy for working together. I keep a glass olive oil bottle with a spout for easy access on my counter. However, I accidentally lost grip of that heavy aS$ olive oil bottle causing it to break- and much worse....chip my new countertop. The chip isn't big at all- actually it's the size of a crumb....small- right? But I get real OCD. And that damn chip has been bothering me ever since- just because I can see it. We paid quite a bit for our solid, slate greyish kitchen quartz counters and the last thing I wanted to do was a do-it-yourself job. I stopped in one morning back in October and my guy Winter was super chill and helpful. All he did was look for our info from his end: address, phone number, color and type of countertop we had gotten- plus he wanted an image of the chip- which I didn't have with me. Winter was able to transfer our contact info to one of Yonkers Cabinets' contractors to come to our house. After all was said and done, our tiny chip repair was more than I expected to pay- but it's so worth it.
