This place has swapped owners so many times this year it's a revolving door -- and they act like that gives them the right to wipe out your money without a second thought. My husband bought me a $90 anniversary gift card on 10/17. I walked in on 12/2 with the card AND the receipt in hand, and they still told me it was worth nothing because there's "new ownership." Their pathetic idea of making things right? $30 off a $60 pedicure. So they kept $60 of my gift. It's insulting, greedy, and shows they have zero respect for their customers. To make matters worse, my pedicure took an hour and 25 minutes and was completely forgettable. If you're even thinking about buying a gift card from this place -- DON'T. Ownership changes here like the weather, and the second it does, your money vanishes. There are plenty of salons in Hastings that won't pull this kind of stunt -- spend your money anywhere else but here. I don't even know where to begin. I didn't expect to have the greatest time, but I didn't expect to endure a shitshow, either. When I tell you this is the most unprofessional nail salon in Western Michigan, I mean it. I had so many posts in the Hastings Facebook group be denied because there were only vulgar words I could think of that would accurately portray and compare to the simply abysmal encounter that was my Thursday morning visit. When my guest and I entered the unit, it was the most normal part about our visit. We were asked what services we needed, then after told to pick out what colors we wanted, things took a turn for the worse. Unsurprisingly in this town, the main guy running the store stepped out to smoke a cigarette as we picked out our colors. Which is fine, whatever, I don't care. However, I picked up on his lack of attention to, I don't know, the federal health code? Because he didn't even wash his hands before seating me to start working on my nails. He seemed to be as concerned with his hygiene as he was with securing returning customers -- not at ALL. The actual time getting my nails done was fine I guess, except for when I went to push up my glasses mid-set. My hands smelled like fresh Newports. He also kept huffing under his breath like every thirty seconds, and I couldn't tell if that was because he was pissed at me or his lungs weren't functioning properly due to his seemingly intense nicotine addiction. His unprofessionalism aside, I would like to mention that my guest was getting her acrylic fill by someone who I can only assume was a student. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, cosmetic schooling is hard. But my friend could've gotten five fills in the time it took her to do ONE. At one point, MY nail tech actually got up to go take over. While he was fixing her nails, she told her that her nail shape was as nice as her body shape. He looked at me and went, "am I right?" and laughed. No, sir. The hell is wrong with you? Anyway, he came back to finish my nails but then had to go back and help the student. The student came over to take over and do my nails, but it took her like ten minutes to do one little star on my nail and I regret to say this, but it was horrendous. But I do wish her all the luck in the world. You know, the saying, "never go to a nail salon by a Wal-Mart" doesn't exist, but it should because of Hastings Nail Spa. I would sooner put peanut butter on my fingertips and taunt a rabies-ridden stray dog before ever stepping into this establishment again. Please, drive the thirty minutes out of town and get your nails done at a slightly less barbaric institution. read more

I came in with very bad acrylics from a different place and they were hurting my nails. The guy very nicely explained to me that they did the acrylic too thick and filed my nails way too thin. He patiently took the acrylic off without damaging my nails even further! I really recommend this place they care about their customers! read more

Was vacationing in Lake Odessa & my daughter & I were overdue for mani/pedis. Tony was my nail tech and he was very gentle & detail oriented. My cuticles look awesome & I love the shape of my nails (natural). I know some people have issues with oriental shops but I wouldn't hesitate to give this one a shot! read more

When I walked in, I wasn't greeted. I walked to the desk and showed a $65 gift cert. Young Mean Woman: What do you want? Me: I've never been here, what can I get for $65? Her: Gel nail, full set, & pedi: $88." Me: What?! Her: Prices went up. (Why I went with it, I don't know. Right out of the gate she was so rude.I think I was slightly shocked at her demeanor.) Pedi chair: I let that chair beat the crap out of my back as the older lady pushed my feet into EXTREMELY HOT water. Me: That IS HOT! Just a short few minutes later, pedi done. Pedi Score: 2/10. Not good. (Btw-I had some fake Kiss nails on.) Young Mean Woman (while I was still in the pedi chair): Take those nails off!! and walked away. Me: Wth?? [If they cared about their prospective new clients and nails, they would have easily popped them off. It's been done before.] In shock by her awful demeanor, I ripped them off myself, while trying to process how I was being treated. Mean Woman when she was ready to work on my nails: Put your shoes on! [Wait no flip-flops, just shoes on? I've never had that happen before, or said so rudely to me.] So many red flags here. Anyway, I realized later, she did acrylics and charged me for gels. Absolutely the WORST SERVICE EVER- if I could give no stars I certainly would. Nails Score: generous 3/10. Don't give them your money. Go somewhere, anywhere else! I talked to a few other women afterwards. They all said the same thing and refused to go back there as well. I'm very sure I would have asked for all the money back and walked right out if it hadn't been in the form of a gift certificate from someone and I just wanted the whole thing over with. read more

Went for a mani & pedi, when I called to make appt they said charge would be $42, however they charged $77 because they said I got gel products that will last longer. Also, when the technician was doing my manicure-she pulled her mask down to sneeze, put it back up & continued the service. To get my nails done and my daughters nails done at 12 when we got there we never got greeted once 35 minutes gone by lady yells u have a apt I said yes we do , not to mention there's only 2 people there working 1 of them doing feet other lady doing someone else's nails my daughter wanted her nails pink and white she got them the color she wanted but they are very bumpy not professional at all she charged me 48 dollars for a crappy job I had 50 dollars and that's all she got I told her if she was more professional I would of gave her a great tip I always tip great if u treat me good I'll do the same. never go there read more

I normally go to this nail salon and I really like the people, however, the cleanliness lately leaves a lot to be desired. The nail tables are covered in nail dust, the hands of the workers do not appear clean with polish and cotton stuck to their fingers. The nail tools and files also do not appear to be clean. With fungus and other nail diseases an obvious concern, it's important to have a clean environment. Also, they seem aloof and rushed and not much attention to detail. Also, a manicure should involve more than a plain water soak. Although I like the folks here, I will likely not be back. read more

I have been coming here for only a couple months, but I would recommend it. The acrylics are always perfect and the pedi's are so relaxing. It comes with a menu of extras and it's not very pricey at all. The staff are nice. Very quiet and smoothing. The entire vibe is relaxing and quiet. It's a very nice place to go and I definitely will continue coming here while I live in Hastings. read more

Wao! I went into this Salon a total emotional mess because of a poor experience with a competitor. Sue was a total expert and her professionalism as a person who deals with the public was outstanding. She is a great nail technician who did great job for me. I will definitely go back to this professional and well rounded technician and owner. She even offered to cover my toe nails for free, because the color didn't quite match and they weren't covered all the way. Way to go Sue! read more

It was mother's day, just a day where I have convinced my husband to watch the kids while me and the bestie went for a relaxing pedicure to get ready for kick off season of camping! I made a reservation at 10:30 that morning for 2 pedicures at 11:30, the man said how about 12? (I was surprised someone answered because google said they didn't open until 11.) I walked in to find 4 children 2 adults and 3 other women. There was 2 workers and one was doing a pedicure with 4 people in pedicure chairs and another worker doing nails with two ladies waiting behind them. They had indicated that they wanted to all be done together and that's why they had made reservations for three. The guy then walked over after finishing the manicure or a part of it, said that we could have a seat in the chair. I asked how long he said 10-15 minutes. I asked my friend we decided that wasn't long but didn't add up math wise. So I asked, where are all your workers? Did they call in? The guy replied it is mother's day.... all the more reason that you would want to be overstaffed. I asked to have my feet soak, if I was going to wait over in the pedicure chair where he was pushing us to go. We sat for a total of five minutes and in that minute called another nail place (Christina's nail salon) and was told they could get us right in. We left the place indicating we were going somewhere else. I hope you know this place isn't honest with us they should have told us they couldn't do the people that had just walked in or that had made appointments. read more

Normally I go to Natural Nail in Hastings, but I received a gift card for Hastings Nail Spa. I'm must say our experience has left me beyond frustrated and disappointed! My daughter and I just went for manicure and pedicures. When we arrived there were only two other customers there and three employees. After they started having us soak our feet feet two other customers came in. Instead of having somebody come back later they tried to do everybody at once. Needless to say it took them 3 1/2 hours to get done with us, and they did a horrible job. My daughters nails look like she did them herself and she is nine years old. My shellac has dents and it does not have a normal smooth shiny coat. We asked them to draw a palm tree on my daughters toe, it is a green star that doesn't even resemble a palm tree. By the time we left I was beyond upset and tired. They did not apologize or even acknowledge the horrible job they did, not to mention the $110 they charged! Never will we go there again! read more
