Called on Friday, 10/10 - P and F closed until Tuesday, 10/14. Tried to work with LG technical support - impossible to do what they expected - have you unplugged the unit? How am I supposed to do that as a 66 year old woman - I cannot pull the unit out to unplug it and plug it back in?!?!?! Extremely frustrating!!! Heard from Haylee at P and F on Tuesday. She said that the extended warranty would not have covered what she believed to be a worn igniter switch. We scheduled an appointment to replace that part On Friday, 10/17. Technician arrived early and completed repair in a timely manner. He was very knowledgeable and answered our questions regarding the igniter switch and its replacement schedule. Appreciate the punctuality and professionalism of the P and F staff - still cannot comprehend that using an oven for its intended purpose - baking/roasting - wears out the very parts that should support those uses!!! My last gas range/oven lasted for 22 years - not 14 months!!! They didn't build it - I get that, but what a warped world we live in when appliances planned obsolesence kicks in at 14 months!!! Thank you P and F for doing your best by your customers - too bad the manufacturers make your job difficult. Kim in Salem

Not good. Sold us a…read morebeautiful gas range. It worked great for just over one year. I loved the thing. Unfortunately, my cleaning lady at the time knocked a button or something and caused it to short-circuit in such a way as to risk burning the house down. I had it looked at by a contractor and it was dead dead dead. Called Manny's and given that it was just a month or so past the warranty date, we were SOL. Unfortunately, we had also purchased a 'fridge from Manny's around the same time-frame. The 'fridge that we paid for was a very VERY nice model that happened to be on sale. Unfortunately, when the delivery men came to install it, they discovered that it did not fit through our doors (old weirdly built house, I suppose). They gave up and took it back. We were given a replacement for the same price which was nowhere near the same quality and specs (major downgrade). The replacement unit works okay ... Or has, for almost a year or so ... But now the freezer-drawer has started to fail to close, and it generates a monster sheet of ice every few weeks that needs to be removed or else the unit won't function. Overall, I am not impressed. I had great luck with another leading company in the area and I only went with this one because a co-worker recommended them. No clue why I made that mistake. tl;dr look elsewhere.

After our dishwasher died a slow, lingering, ultimately smoky death, the mister wanted to get a…read morenicer, quieter replacement. After picking out the one that best met his stringent requirements, he called around and found only a few places that carried it, and only one that did their own installation: Central Appliance. He purchased and set up the delivery and installation appointment over the phone, and was in contact via email after Hurricane Sandy delayed the delivery. The delivery and installation went very smoothly, with one exception: a small rock got caught from our driveway in the bottom of the dishwasher while bringing it upstairs, and scratched our tile floor. The installer was very apologetic and said we should contact Central Appliance directly, which we did, and Merry (manager? Owner? Person in charge that had handled the entire transaction) had a tile company come out and fix it up promptly. All in all we were extremely satisfied--we never had to step foot outside!--and would recommend Central Appliance to anyone in the area looking for a trustworthy, experienced dealer. By the way, Merry told the mister that Central Appliance is the only authorized Bosch dealer in the area, and that the other company who said they "had a guy" to put in the dishwasher used CA as their contractor for Bosch repairs. So they appear to really be the experts.

We purchased from Best on the recommendation of a neighbor who left a (very positive) review here…read more We purchased new appliances for our entire house - fridge, stove, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Unfortunately, the washing machine has never worked. Their service people came out and misdiagnosed the issue repeatedly, ultimately instructing us to re-wire our outlets and install non-code compliant outlets. Bad advice, and that was ultimately proven to not be the issue. As we tried to fix the issue, the manufacturer's warranty lapsed. Reluctantly, we paid an additional $500 out of pocket (on a $1000 machine) for their service techs to come back out and install various other parts, but without ever fixing the machine. From day 1, the machine was a lemon. And to this day, the machine is not working. Best's sales staff's proposed resolution is to charge us full price for a new machine. Phone calls to management go unreturned. They give bad advice, don't stand behind their work, and clearly don't care about fixing issues for their customers. Needless to say, we've taken our business elsewhere and will never go back to Best for any reason. Do business here at your own risk. Zero stars.

The builder told me to get in touch with the appliance store which I did and they have been telling me for over two months that they're going to order a new gasket for the freezer and that they have ordered a replacement drawer for the gas range. Today I called to get an update and I find out from one of the managers that they don't intend to do any of that... so they were just stringing me along for a couple of months! The manager says now he's going to call GE appliance repair and give them my information and that's how they're going to take care of it. Therefore, I would not recommend buying an appliance from this store because they will not always tell you the truth and string you along for a couple of months if something's not working just right and basically wash their hands of the appliance once it goes out the door. The manager said when they delivered the appliances, they were in perfect condition and what happened to them between that point and when I bought the house is not his problem.
