I was surprised to find a place like this in Abilene, I was a little skeptical but my friend said it was just as good as getting habachi without people throwing broccoli at you. I have never eaten in the restaurant, but have ordered takeout for lunch several times. I love the teriyaki steak and shrimp. I get noodles instead of rice and I like them. I have tasted the rice from a friend's plate and it was pretty yummy as well. The steak and shrimp are cooked well and the taste is good. The ginger sauce is pretty amazing. The portion size is good. It's two meals for me, sometimes more. The price is good, especially for the amount of food you get. read more

Sadly, our favorite fast Asian food restaurant lost us today. They recently started serving small strips of steak instead of the original cubes, and today they've added large mushroom chunks to the steak entrée (should be Only meat), to bulk it out. My husband ate the Hashi steak (cooked medium) with sides of vegetables and fried rice. The meat was tender with a good flavor. I had the Hashi salmon with sides of brown rice (slightly undercooked ) and vegetables (they were out of broccoli ). The Hashi soup had thin slices of mushroom and green onion in an umami chicken broth. I enjoyed the meats most. Also included was a sampling of each of their sauces. Great food, service, and atmosphere. I get the shrimp and fried rice and it is amazing. The shrimp was cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of flavor. I normally order double now because how good it is. We have a few places that offer the same kind of food in town and I pick Hashi over them all. The decor is modern, clean, and open. Service was nice. Food was terrible. Steak was not seasoned and over cooked. Veggies and rice were over salted. My sashimi salad was terrible. The sashimi were tiny pieces, which I have never seen before and very visually unappealing. Then a stereotypical salad I could have gotten at Wendy's for a dollar. Prompt, friendly service and excellent food at reasonable prices! The first thing you hear when you walk into the restaurant is a warm welcome from all of the staff "Welcome to Hashi!" Nice atmosphere. Decor is very up to date and clean. The menu is very easy to navigate. I have eaten here twice already and it has been excellent both times. The hashi steak is very flavorful! I love the sauce that it comes with. Fried rice is the of the best in town. And you can't beat the egg rolls! (Good size and very flavorful) There is a good variety of vegetables in the veggie side. All were tender and cooked through nicely. The dumplings are great as well! Be sure to try some. The sauces are the kicker for me. Be sure to ask for some of the ginger sauce and try it with some rice and your protein of choice. The portions are large enough to make two meals out of it. So have dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day! (It reheats very well) All in all, I would definitely go here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different in Abilene. read more

Hashi was good for a healthy Asian stop on the road. I ordered three items to try sample for the next two days. It is a hip, clean, modern concept. I walk to the counter about 8:PM and they were beginning to clean and shut down. Probably not the best time to dine and evaluate. I ordered the sashimi salad, hibachi chicken and a veggie roll. I ate the sashimi salad and was pretty impressed. Salmon and tuna were fresh, a nice ginger garlic dressing, and I'm a lettuce snob, but it worked. All in all, I'd eat here again for sure. read more

So after hearing all the hype about this new place I knew I had to check it out. Let me forewarn you, if you are used to amazing Asian foods, you may be a bit disappointed. I grew up in Hawaii, so have been spoiled rotten. When I saw the picture of the fried rice on their FB page, I knew it was something I could make at home, which is what my husband said when he tried it. I got the teriyaki steak, fried rice, veggies, egg roll, spring roll and cheese wonton. If the kids were judging this, they would have given it a 5. They ate it all, exclaimed it to be delicious and that they want to go back. The food lacked flavor and there was nothing that said wow! The spring rolls while crispy on the outside, was weirdly soggy on the inside. The egg roll was much better. I do not like any type of crab/cheese wonton but the kids said it was good. Now, there was this ginger sauce that was put inside my carryout container and that was amazing! If the rest of the food was seasoned as well as the ginger sauce, they would have a repeat customer. The service is outstanding, serious you cannot beat the service supplied here. If the kids asked to eat there for dinner on a night that we allow them to pick a restaurant, I would take them. Another thing, to me the food is very affordable. I would say you would only spend over $10 if you get an appetizer and drink to go with your meal. read more

First experience here, food was GREAT, small portions but tasted delicious. Now the employees on the other hand, when we came in an employee was starting to close up half the restaurant at 7:45 pm, not even close to closing.. This left my boyfriend and I, and a few other groups of people that came after us to sit extremely close the people who were already there, we asked the employee if we could sit and one of the tables she was moving around and she said no, they were cleaning up for close.. We finally find a clean table, and get the chance to eat our food and another employee comes and starts sweeping towards the people who were eating.. Loved my first meal at the new location but it's gone downhill ever since. Noodles were super crunchy and all 5 small pieces of shrimp might as well have been rubber. Other than the rubber, at least give me enough to balance out the sides. And for the cherry on top, the lady at the front was less than friendly when we asked for condiments and a portion question about the shrimp. Plz improve hashi. The best restaurant in Abilene! I was expecting it to be "yet another oriental food restaurant." I was mindblown. The food is crazy good and the service is exactly what customer service is supposed to be. They make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. I barely had time to get my drink and sit down when they brought my food. From the first bite, I realized this is the new place I'll be returning to, over and over again.
