Popped in for lunch. You order at the counter and sit down as they bring your food. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Steak - The steak pieces were well marinated. Not too chewy but not entirely tender either. Chicken - A little salty for my liking but it went fine with brown rice. They were cubed very small too. Fried Rice - This had the standard fried rice flavors as well as some sweetness to it. Very tasty. Brown Rice - No mushy rice! Great consistency. Veggies - These were well cooked and very good when dipped in their ginger sauce. Overall, I enjoyed this place and it is good for something quick.

Seeing all the mixed ratings on here, you would think I just had bad timing. For dinner, we chose this place because the food reminded me of Mongolian Grill. The quality was certainly not the same. Pretty simple menu, just choose your protein (chicken, steak, or shrimp) along with two sides (brown/white rice, noodles, or mixed veggies). I had the chicken with fried rice and noodles. Unlike everyone else, I found the food very bland, even their sweet and sour/teriyaki sauces didn't help. The protein portioning was not worth the price in my opinion. On top of the that, one of the employees were sweeping vigorously while everyone was eating. It made us question all the smoke basking around the whole restaurant.

This is what I got. Barely any meat. Doesn't even cover the bottom.

Went to this location after having researched it online. The first picture is what is advertised on their website and happened to be exactly what I wanted. Customer service was decent and food was done in a reasonable time. I went home and was extremely disappointed in the amount of meat I received for what I paid. Especially since their advertised photo shows so much meat and you can count the ones I received. Pictures posted. Overall, the food is pretty good. But this is the SECOND time they give me little meat. Not acceptable.

Definitely a great, quick take out spot. I got the shrimp and the Hashi steak. Shrimp was eh, but the Hashi steak was the best part of the meal because it's marinated nicely and the cook of it is decent for a fast food take out spot. They really go big on the sides rather than the entree so prepare to douse yourself on rice and noodles. Noodles have barely any flavor so I asked for teriyaki sauce on the side, mixed that in with the noodles, and you have some ghetto chow mein. It's good though LOL.

After seeing lots of positive reviews on this place, I felt it was time to come check it out! It's a fairly small restaurant, but it's appointed nicely. Maybe 6-8 booths and several tables in the center. You order 2 meats, (chicken, steak, shrimp) these can be had teriyaki or hibachi. And you then have a choice of 2 starches, fried rice, brown rice, white rice, noodles or vegetable medley. Note - you cannot deleted or any items in tne vegetable medley. So if you don't like mushrooms, like myself, you are out of luck. You CAN order double on any of those items also. I ordered noodles and fried rice with hibachi chicken and steak (they cook tne steak to order) I found that to be a nice touch! So Medium it is. The chicken was good, the steak was amazingly cooked! The fried rice was ok, the noodles were a bit dry to my taste, so next time I will just order double fried rice. Once everything was mixed together, the noodles dryness became less of an issue, it was soooo good I literally couldn't stop eating.. When I was full I took a break and are some more.. Amazing flavor! You had to ask for condiments like soy sauce and hot sauce, it's not just available to grab, which I prefer. The portions are HUGE! You get more than what you pay for! Even though I did my best to consume everything, I still had enough for another full meal.. These leftovers will NOT be taking up residence in the back of my fridge to rot.. I'm already looking forward till lunch tomorrow! Another nice touch was the beverage machine, it's one of those all on one deals, but it had Sparkling Water with Lemon! First I've ever seen that, and it's one of my favorite drinks so another huge plus! Another con - there must have been something wrong with the AC, the dinning room temperature was warm, not cold.. On a 95+ degree day, I want to eat in a cold establishment, and the bathroom vent was blowing HOT air. So, I'm sure there was a problem with the units. In summary: Awesome Food! Try it! Wanted to give 5 stars but I couldn't ignore the cons. Bad AC - to warm I didn't like the noodles - to dry for me. Asking for condiments made me feel like a begger. Just have them available... I promise I won't take 50 soy sauce and make a latte.

The smallest spring roll ever. What a joke!!!

I love their sushi but I wish they had more choices. Usually just California roll and spicy tuna. Sometimes they don't have any at all.

Good food for what it is; fast hibachi-style food. The gyoza was good and the salmon had a great sauce.

Like any normal Person I click and go straight the reviews and let me tell you I knew right then and there, where I was going for dinner. Another reviewer named JOE told a story of a wonderful little twink behind the counter named Miguel, it intrigued me. Who is this mysterious Miguel? So me and my buddy walk in and who did I lock eyes with? You guessed it, my knight in shining armor, Miguel. I approached him and said "I've heard so much about you", he blushes. I leaned in closer, whispered in his ear "I'll take 2 dragon rolls....miguel". He looks back at me and in the softest voice he told me "don't worry, the drinks on me today". Oh Miguel, I wish it was. But me and my buddy really enjoyed our food, heard the boba teas are delicious. Maybe miguel can boba teas nuts in his mouth.

Small portion size with big chunky fried pieces. Miso soup was okay, but wasn't packaged well ended up spilling on the ride home. Genuinely didn't enjoy the four rolls we ordered this time. Got the TNT Roll and California Roll we typically order, but didn't live up to the memory. We arrived at the time our order was supposed to be ready, but had to wait over 30 minutes for the pick up order. Floor was pretty dirty inside, but the tables were wiped down well. There are better options for sushi in Abilene. I do think Little Ninja's is comparable to running to the grocery store at this point. On a silly side note, several of the previous reviews highlight the lore and appeal of meeting Miguel at Little Ninja... I think that might be the most noteworthy aspect of this restaurant.

As a Los Angeles native visiting Abilene TX for the holidays, I was very surprised by this place!…read moreThe food is good! I highly recommend the sushi. I know what you're thinking, sushi in land locked Texas? but the food was fresh and tasty. The service was very good. Amazing charming staff that care about making your experience great and memorable. The ambiance is also very good. High end and trendy. Highly recommend the place for the area!

A Longtime Customer Completely Let Down…read more I've been eating sushi for over 30 years, and Masa Bistro & Sushi Bar used to be one of our favorite spots for birthdays, family dinners, and gatherings with friends. After our most recent visit? We won't be coming back. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll--something I've had countless times at restaurants across the country. What arrived was covered in eel sauce and stuffed with lettuce. I politely asked the waitress if I could get it remade without the extras. She was kind and put in the request. Then she came back and said the manager told her "the description for the shrimp tempura roll is on the Roll page." The problem? I ordered it from the Lunch Specials menu, which has no description at all. So unless I had read the Roll page in advance, I was just supposed to guess it would be a totally different version. Instead of fixing it, the manager told her I'd have to pay full price for a second roll--plus an extra dollar just to get spicy mayo. What should have been a simple, reasonable request turned into nickel-and-diming and a complete lack of hospitality. Then came the food: * The miso soup tasted like brown aquarium water--seriously. Not savory or warm, just murky and fishy, like the smell of a dirty fish tank. * My daughter ordered the Japanese ramen, which her dad has had many times before at this same restaurant. It normally came with the typical wiggly ramen noodles. This time? Thick spaghetti noodles that tasted like plastic. The broth was equally awful--exactly how an old aquarium smells. * The Chicken Pad Thai was the one bright spot. Delicious as always and the only dish we finished. And to top it off: when we placed our order, I told the waitress we were celebrating a birthday. She got excited and offered us the Birthday Fried Banana Dessert--which we accepted. My daughter was excited about it. But guess what? It never came. Not a word, not an apology, not a check-in. We've celebrated so many birthdays and special moments at Masa over the years, but after this experience--between the dismissive management, disappointing food, and forgotten birthday--we're completely done. We took the leftovers home and fed them to our chickens because I refused to waste $70+ on trash. So congratulations, Masa: my chickens got the most expensive meal of their life . Update: 8-5-25: My friend somehow got the food report from the Food Inspectors that just happened 6-23-2025 *need dates on defrosted food *no soap at bar *missing dates on food Check the pics for more of the report

Most Chinese buffets I've tried have the same standard food with a few t new things here and there or without a few things others have, and golden chop sticks has a great variety with everything I'd want on a Chinese buffet. I can't think of one thing I've seen at other places they don't have and they have some extras like sushi and hibachi. The Chinese food is all good and of course some are hit and miss or I just don't like them in general. The food usually seems fresh when I've been between 11a-2p for lunch. The sushi is like every single Chinese buffet or grocery store sushi. It's basic and I wouldn't go there just for it but I do love that they have it and always get a few pieces but it's not going to be the same quality as a sushi restaurant. The general Chinese food options are always hot, fresh, and good. I've been to some Chinese restaurants that are a la carte and the standard there is higher because it's quality over quantity. As far as buffets go this is one of my favorites. I'm giving it 5 stars because they deserve to be higher than a 3 but in reality I'd say a solid 4 stars for a buffet. It hits the typical marks and then some. I think a solid 5 star Chinese buffet place would be hard to find. This is by far the best Chinese buffet in and around Abilene and beats out a lot of places I've tried in bigger cities. Also it's very spacious for large parties. The service has always been friendly and they've kept my drink full. At a buffet there's only so much I expect from the wait staff and that's about it.
