Still suffering from the horrible experience with this auction site. People are not honest. I can only say stay clear of them.

First of all, Bob McCann, the owner/proprietor is legitimately the nicest, most charming, and…read moreenthusiastic person ever. He loves what he does, and he enjoys talking about and showing off his numerous projects. Check out the book in his shop that shows the kind of work that he's done. This man is living the dream - he's doing what he loves, with incredible attention to detail. He's not doing it for massive profits, but because he really, really loves his work. And though he's an amazing restorer, he is most enthusiastic about repurposing older pieces to fit your current lifestyle. Ask him about his pump organ projects - something that was basically broken down and unusable was repurposed into a desk with hidden cubbies and secret panels like something out of that National Treasure movie. Which led me to basically dream planning having one of this pump organs be redesigned into a goth themed vanity of my dreams. Never mind that I live in a studio. And I was SHOCKED at how low the starting price for a project like that was - seriously, he is undercharging for the kind of work he does. I am seriously considering getting rid of my couch and tv cabinet just to make room for his custom vanity with secret cubbies and hidden drawers and expandable table tops. But if you're not ready for that and are looking for someone to fix/restore/recane/refinish cherished family pieces or even fix up that flea market find, Mr. McCann is your guy. He's a freaking treasure and he's absolutely worth the drive out to visit for a consult (or even just a chat )

I held onto his info and reached out to him to have him restore a 55 year old mid century one piece sofa sectional. It was my Dad's bachelor sofa. 10ft long. Over the years my folks had it reupholstered 3xs. When i inherited I had it done boldly in red Naugahyde. That was 21 years ago. Iron Gate Antiques just reupholstered in recycled leather and they added a lil height lift to it because she was a low rider. It's beautiful. The entire gang at Iron Gate made this project so much fun to do and I'm so pleased with the work they did abs the outcome

I live in Nevada but had a family home in Cumberland in need of a clean-out in preparation for…read moresale. I was concerned about the valuable contents needing to be cleaned out. Honesty and integrity was a big concern and the local "auction" services there all seemed "dodgy". Several realtors suggested McDonald's liquidation service. I was impressed by their knowledge of antiques and collectibles and the fact they travel to metro areas where these items bring higher prices. Their commission was fair. They cleaned out the contents relatively quickly and I was pleased with the results of the sales. I highly recommend McDonald's Estate Liquidation Service.

Not a very good experience. Went one time to a estate sale ran by mcdonalds liquidations. First…read morethere were customers already at the house grabbing stuff before the company was even there. We found a small shoebox full of Christmas ornaments and took it to them to get a price (nothing was priced). The man working proceeded to shove his hand in the box and throw things around breaking the hat off a snowman in the process. First said it was $20 and before anyone could answer and pay he took 3 ornaments out of the box and then said $10 for the box and $20 for those three. Then again before anyone could answer he grabbed his phone and scanned one of the ornaments with it. Said one of the three is expensive online and that he needed $59 for the Santa ornament and $8 for the box of ornaments including the one he broke by rooting through it. We left empty handed. This place is very unprofessional and clearly lacks knowledge on how to function in their profession.

I knew to be cautious with my bidding since I'm no jewelry expert, but this seller is pretty large and reputable, so I didn't think I overpaid by much. Still, I wanted some assurance of what these pieces were and their approximate value. I selected Ms. Leight because I saw she had a few good online reviews for her business. Exchanging emails was easy and I set up an appointment. Because I emailed descriptions of the jewelry, Ms. Leight recommended a verbal appraisal where she would examine the pieces and describe them while I took notes. This was the best method since the pieces obviously were not expensive nor did not have high quality gems. Ms. Leight does offer written appraisals for that type of work. Ms. Leight was very friendly. She was also very efficient in examining the pieces. She has multiple pieces of GIA-marked equipment. In addition to giving her own estimate of value, she was able to quickly look up similar pieces on the Internet to give a rough retail cost comparison. Her comments were very insightful and I'm very satisfied with her appraisals. I will certainly work with her again, particularly to look at some of the more expensive, finer pieces of inherited jewelry I have.

Tina verified that the GECAL matched the inscription on the girdle, and she confirmed color and other characteristics. I learned that some moissanite stones are sold as diamonds, and she confirmed my stone tested as a diamond (not moissanite). Tina is extremely knowledgeable about diamonds and I enjoyed listening and learning any information she spoke about. I was in a hurry but would have loved to stay longer as I was very interested in hearing her experience and information. Initially, I only wanted a verbal confirmation of the GCAL number and stone characteristics, but at the meeting, I upgraded my request to a full paper appraisal.
