When it arrived, we were halfway through putting it together, when we found that there were essential parts missing. We went through the inventory and noted all the missing parts and contacted the retailer to ask to have them sent to us, only for them to say that this was not possible, and we had to pack the whole thing up, have it returned, and they would send a new one. I packed the parts up for collection, and told them instead of sending another consignment, to refund me instead. We then chose to get our new bed for TJ Warehouse, which I wish we'd done in the beginning! This is a local, family run business who helped us through the whole process, and at every stage, there was an actual human being to speak to! The bed and mattress I ended up getting here, I was much more happy with, their prices are competitive and we had the bed with all parts present delivered to our door within 48 hours! Aside from beds, they also sell bedroom furniture, they have an online store, and if needed, they can offer finance too. I definitely recommend to look at what local businesses you can support before looking elsewhere!

We've being toying with the idea of getting a new bed for a while now but today after hearing a…read moreradio ad on Blast 106 of all places we ended up at Discount Beds in east Belfast. Just off the Newtownards Road this pace is really easy to find. You might expect to find a big warehouse with loads of beds but in actual fact Discount Beds is located within 2 terraced houses opposite each other. Yep, you read that correctly. On one side of the road there's a showroom and no members of staff to help and the other house has the staff and more furniture. All I kept thinking when I was walking around was how awkward it would be to get the beds up and down the stairs. The beds themselves were excellent, there's every type you could possibly want here. Pocket coiled mattresses and memory foam - see I picked up some lingo. Price wise there are some cheap beds but I wouldn't say it's any cheaper overall than some of the big chains. I found the staff ok but I felt they were perhaps preoccupied when trying to help us. We didn't end up getting a bed. The search for a good nights sleep goes on!

I've never bought anything from here personally but I can remember wondering around here as a kid in the cramped store full of items on display, whilst my mum haggled with the owner about a new bed or wardrobe. That's the best thing about these type of places. Haggling! The big chain stores don't use this old school skill and it takes a lot out of the store buying experience! My mum could always get a bargain with her skills and this place let her! They deliver all over Belfast and the extra charge is barely worth taking note of! All these little things help it stay afloat and take on the big dogs! I've just recently got a new apartment and I'll be visiting here soon.

It's quite a stressful place to be & difficult to find and actually buy the item you wish to buy! Personally i wouldn't buy furniture here , as it looks really cheap but the prices are premium prices! The last & final time i visited, i bought several small items, such as cutlery & kitchen utensils (Should know better by now) & when i got home and checked same items on internet, found them at less than half the price! It's a tad confusing & rather poorly set out store , with very inadequate help to hand ! The swedish meatballs & mash in the restaurant are excellent though.

IKEA's great value for money and has a massive selection of household furniture and items. It is a…read morebit of a pain that it's all mainly flat pack stuff but they do offer both delivery and assembly services which are super. I enjoy an occasional wander around this giant store and really like the simple Swedish design of the furniture. IKEA overall has relatively good environmental credentials with all stores being energy efficient and products produced as sustainably as can be. I have some IKEA shelving I've had for years and plan to keep forever as it's strong and sturdy. The IKEA cafe is also economical and offers some good vegetarian options.
