Gazebo Inn Ogunquit - The hot tub is wonderful after hiking or walking all day!

The staff is exceptional, Pete has this place running like a top! This time we stayed in Barn Suite 2 and I think this may now be my new favorite room. The shower is unbelievable and the room well appointed. And breakfast? The best! They make scones daily and each day is a different main breakfast. They also provide ice tea and either a sangria or other type drink along with house made cookies (best I've ever had) as well as Whoopie pies and mixed nuts and snack mix.

We especially loved the large salt water hot tub and mid-day snacks (mixed nuts and large chocolate chip cookies - which were delicious). They also offer a mixed drink and wine at the self serve bar during the day. We stayed in the King 7 room and it was spacious. We loved the rain shower head. I also highly recommend the chocolate sampler box add on! We had the chocolate and champagne available at check in which was a nice touch. The hot tub was often quiet around 8pm and made for the perfect end of evening activity. They have an ample selection of towels and robes by the pool that are available to use. We also enjoyed a couples massage offered by the inn. Breakfast was very yummy! Each day there is a large selection of options you can pick and choose from. They had the breakfast offering for the day displayed and then you check off what you want with a marker on a short form. The inn is about a 10 minute walk from Footbridge beach, which was awesome. Overall I would recommend for any weekend getaway or celebration!

The room is centered around a large, king bed with comfy sheets and fluffy pillows. The room has a ceiling fan and an A/C that makes the room perfectly cold. The bed is surrounded by beautiful windows that give you great light throughout the day and with the shades, good sleep too. Bathroom is newly updated and very clean. The room is right next to the main entrance which I was a tiny bit worried about but it didn't bother us one bit. The breakfast room is large and open all day. It's not a hot breakfast but they offer things like fruit, yogurt, scones, etc. They put out snacks and baked goods for you to enjoy after breakfast and the coffee/tea bar is open all day too! The property itself is impeccably manicured with beautiful landscaping. There's a hammock next to a cute tiny pond and lilacs everywhere which is amazingly fragrant during May. The porch is lovely and I'd sit out there all day if I could. Great spot for remote work too. Overall, great stay and I will return for sure!

The owners, George and Cathy Wilson, are phenomenal, interesting, salt-of-the-earth people, and they are excellent inn keepers. Their home is as unique in style and decor as it is functional, lending itself to days spent poolside with a book surrounded by acres of wildflowers and trees. A full breakfast is served each morning and it is exceptional. Each room has its own unique amenity: one has a gazebo, two have private screened-in porches, one has a garden entrance, others have fireplaces, etc. There is one suite, three other rooms and also a full apartment. The central air conditioning is a gift from heaven on hot summer days and the pool is amazing - so much more than just the standard cement hole-in-the-ground filled with water. Personal touches abound and it seems that everywhere one looks there is a unique piece of artwork or furniture or sculpture or planting that compliments the whole without being gaudy in the least. Having frequented Ogunquit for ten years, I do not know why I never knew about Beauport before - perhaps because it's a 15 minute walk from the center of town and I just never stumbled upon it until this past weekend. Quick list of other things I love about Beauport: no kids, no pets, no loud delivery trucks rolling by at 4 AM as with the other inns downtown. Well worth the short walk from the center of town, I highly recommend the Beauport Inn.

The Beauport Inn ranks among our favorites because... ** Very comfortable bed, and tasteful furnishings ** Sparklingly clean ** Delicious breakfast ** Warm hospitality ** Excellent communication to help coordinate our late arrival ** Delightful surprises such as the 7 rescued cockatoos and macaw ** And the biggest surprise of all...wet sauna, dry sauna and hot tub! Linda and Ellen notice and attend to small details. That is the difference between getting 85% high ratings and 95% high ratings from guests. That extra 10% requires a lot more work, but it means you are pretty well assured you will have an excellent experience. Highly recommend!

My husband and l were fortunate to have the opportunity to spend  a few days there from June 19th to the 21st. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. There was a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom with a spacious shower. We really enjoyed our breakfast on the front porch - delicious blueberry muffins, coffee, fruit and yogurt. On our last morning we  were treated to two scrumptious chocolate chip cookies for our ride home. There's no need to worry about packing wine and snacks since the country store at the inn has wine, beer, soft drinks, cheese and crackers at very reasonable prices.  Bev and Scott are experienced and gracious hosts who made our stay so special! They really know how to make their guests feel at home! We're already looking forward to our next stay!

We loved the great location because we could just park the car while we were in town and walk wherever we need to go. Marginal Way was only a short distance, as was Perkins Cove. Barnacle Billy's (must eat there) was just around the corner. My only critique (and why I didn't give a 5) was that I was disappointed in the muffins we had heard so much about. Both of us remarked afterwards that they were kind of gooey and not up to what we'd expect to find in a quality establishment. Also, in today's food savvy environment, it might be nice to have a protein option, even if they were just boiled eggs. But, those are really just matters of personal preference. We can wholeheartedly recommend this B&B.

The historical aspect of the Inn appealed to us (so many cool nooks, crannies, closets, wide planked floors, giant fireplaces, paintings, & more), Claudine, the Inn's manager, is welcoming, fun, funny, engaging, open, & chatty. Our room, the Duchess Ann Suite was a bit challenged by the 3 of us since we needed one bed more, so we were given permission to squeeze in an air bed that made it perfect. Although facing the VERY busy main road leading into & out of town, we did not hear any of the traffic, nor parades of people due to the A/C units. The front gardens are chock-filled with beautiful flowers, & sweet touches such as a bubbling fountain, moss covered structures, & stone pathways leading everywhere. Breakfast was also perfect, especially because we were able to sit outside on the front porch while sipping our coffee, enjoying our yogurt, breads, cereals, juice & more. We could not have asked for a better experience, a better location, a better welcoming & a better 3 sisters' annual get together.

Unfortunately, I had a very poor booking experience with this company. I booked for July in April…read more I was told on the booking site that it was "prepay at hotel". It was a very expensive reservation over the holiday weekend. The same day I received an email from the hotel stating they charged a 50% "deposit" to hold the room - never mentioned beforehand. When I reached out to ask for a refund of my deposit, I was told to cancel the reservation to receive the deposit back. Ok. I was treated very poorly during the cancellation process by whoever was writing the (unsigned) emails: they wrote I "misunderstood", "obviously", and that I was a "Karen"! ("Karen is a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people's behaviors.") Whoever is writing the emails for the company needs some customer service training - hopefully it's not the owner(s): John J and Dwain U are the new owners of the Inn as of September 18, 2013
