I needed my tire changed after a minor accident on the NYS Thruway. We called the State Police -- the officers said that our tire was flat and called Hart Towing to come change the tire. When the tow truck got there, the driver said that he couldn't change the tire because the spare was soft -- I felt the spare and it was not soft. He said he would have to tow us. We were westbound on the thruway just east of the Geneva exit. The driver said that he couldn't take us to a repair shop that was just off the thruway in Geneva. He had me drive my car onto his tow truck and my 2 sisters and I rode in my car on the tow truck to a shop that was several miles in the other direction. The workers at the shop changed the tire and told us that the spare tire was not soft. In other words, the driver could have changed the tire and we would have been on our way. Instead, he lied to us and had us ride in our car on the tow truck (which I was told later is illegal) while he did a u-turn and took us several miles in the wrong direction. read more

Hart Towing and Service flatbed my vehicle 16 miles. They give me a bill for over $300.00 then to add insult to injury they charged me another 4% for using a credit card. My wife and I will never use Hart Towing Service again, and we will be sure tell others about this unfair business practice. I needed a tow so I called them for a quote. I was quoted at $95 plus tax, so I agreed. The tow truck arrived on time and the driver (Austin) was friendly. We had a great conversation during the drive and almost got into an accident when some lady pulled out in front of us without looking. Austin was able to avoid the accident without a problem. When we arrived at our destination he lowered the car with care and was very careful not to disturb the stone driveway as he retracted his equipment. The only issue I had was when I was given the total which was $95 plus mileage and then the tax. The girl on the phone never told me there was extra mileage, even though I was clear on where I was going. I would definitely use them again. BTW, their slogan is awesome. read more

Regardless of the negative reviews I see here, I would use Hart Towing & Service again. My car picked up a nail. When I went out today (Saturday) there was only 2# of air in it; after I drove it out of the garage, there was 0 - I apparently broke the seal on the rim. At 80, I haven't changed a tire in at least 60 years, and was not about to learn how to again. I tried calling several different services in the area and all were closed; I still left messages, but no one called me back. I called Hart and a few minutes later received a call-back. The driver who came here was amiable, courteous and respectful. He quickly changed the wheel and put the flat into the trunk. For $81 it was worth it! Now if I can get the flat repaired tomorrow, I can still make a dinner date in the afternoon with my dockmates nearly an hour's drive from here. Thank you, Hart Towing & Service!! read more

Please do not use Hart Towing & Service! My husband's car slid off the freeway in the ice and Hart Towing came to pull him out of the ditch. They hooked the car improperly and damaged his car and then refused to pay for the damage they had caused. After speaking with them several times, all they would come up with was half the cost of the damage, saying that it was partly his fault for sliding off the freeway which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that their driver was solely responsible for the damage done to his car. No other damage occurred except from the tow hook. These are not honest people. read more

This place is run by a real scumbag! Trust me stay away from hart towing in Waterloo ny. My car was impounded and I tried every day for 5 days to pay the bill but once the bill was available it was sky high. They charged me twice the amount allowed by New York State. This place is the reason why there are towing and storage regulations. When I said I was going to involve my lawyer they called my lien holder and told them I refused to pay the bill which resulted in the lien holder repossessing my car! I have never made a late payment! I'm currently filling to sue In small claims court. Take it from me, do not do business with hart towing. I'm out over a grand so far and that's not including my front bumper they destroyed while towing. read more
