I drive a Toyota RAV4 2014. It needed an oil change and I wanted to do it myself to save some money. This rav4 ( most Toyota ) has a oil filter casing where the filter seats in The previous people that did the oil change torqued the Casing On there so tight that I had to purchase several tools to try and get the casing off. One of those tools I bought was a 500lb torque impact($130) wrench. That impact wrench could not get the casing off. It actually crack the casing. At that I gave up and sealed the crack with jb welds epoxy. The next day I heard About Dave's auto repair and heard great things. So I called and spoke to Griffin. At first he wanted set it up by appointment because How i explained my issues sounded more complex. But He called me back in 10 minutes and said he now understood what I meant. He then told me to bring it in and he can work on removing the casing and putting a new casing on right there on the spot. Next day I brought my rav4 in and It took about l one hour for the entire repair including extras that was needed. I was very surprised on how quick they turned my car around. the cost was more than fair. I thought it should have been more. I could not thank Dave's auto repair and his enough in how they took care of me in the short amount of time. Most places I been too would have told me to just drop the car off. Dave's Auto Repair just bought my service needs and I will keep coming back for any repairs on my vehicles. I will also spread the word just like my friends told me. It took them over a week to fix (it's a 3 hours job). The alignment was botched and the steering wheel was not straight when it was returned to me. When I called them back to correct the issue, the service advisor informed me I can certainly bring the truck back... but they intend to KEEP the truck until my previous bill was paid by my warranty company. Shocked, I called the warranty company to see what was going on. They told me the dealer would not accept their payment due to having to run it through through a credit card service (100% of 3rd party warranties do this with 0 problems at other dealers). Apparently, Tyler did not want to pay the 3% fee for the transaction. Why this was not added to the cost (to me) I will never know. But Tyler would not accept payment and told me they would KEEP my truck until I PAID the full bill (I had already paid the deductible upon completion of the service that day). I wrote to the Service Manager with this problem, hoping to find a solution that worked for everyone. No reply. I emailed the General Manager. No reply. I then emailed Scott Tyler directly to tell him how his customer was being treated, because if it was my business, I would certainly want to know. No reply. I told them all in my email that I was reaching out to correct the issue in order to not have to do what I am doing today, which is share negative feedback with all social media and RamCares. Since there was nothing after several weeks of trying, here we are. And my steering wheel is still crooked, which I will now have to pay someone else to fix. After dropping the car off, I would call week after week and was almost never answered. I left many voicemails and was never called back except for 1 or 2 times. The times I did manage to speak with someone, they gave me some completely made up timeline such as "We will have an estimate in 1-2 days" or "we will be done by Monday." None of these deadlines were ever met. I ended up being stuck without my car for nearly 5 weeks without any idea of its status. I was frustrated, but accepting because I really did not mind them taking such a ridiculously long time if they were completely renewing the car by fixing/replacing everything that needed it. I even would have paid a bit extra as well. So, finally, after 5 weeks of missed calls, made up deadlines, and almost no communication at all, I go in to pick it up. I look at the car before I go inside. Almost nothing visible is fixed. After inquiring inside, they tell me that they needed some more parts, which shocked me. I couldn't help but wonder what they were doing the past 5 week. They're just telling me they need more parts now? When I come to pick it up? They were able to do the bare minimum that I asked for, which was fix the plastic panels that were dragging on the concrete, but I do not believe for a second that what they did should have taken 5 whole weeks. Another key point is that they claimed they could not replicate the problems I was having with my door lock actuator, but immediately after I drove off the lot, the constant clicking of the door locks started again. So, I wonder if these guys were just trying to avoid working on it. For what they did complete, the price would have been fair if not for the outrageous 5 week waiting period and lack of any communication. I am extremely disappointed. Expected a lot more from these guys given the great reviews. The only reason I am not giving them 1 star is because they did go beyond expectations by fabricating a custom connector to replace a sensor wire to avoid having the replace the entire harness. Other than that, I will not be going back, and don't recommend this business to anyone else either.
