I have had their food many times. Great variety and great service. The empanadas are delicious, but try their other dishes too, even better.

This place was highly recommended from someone that worked at Newark Liberty Airport. I stopped by…read moreon a saturday. I ordered Bacalao with brown rice, maduros and red beans on the side. The dining area is 'family style' which is kool! I got mine 'to go' because I miss my sofa. The food was onpoint!!! The bacalao and the rice had great flavor (5). I was too tired/sleepy to write a review after I ate. I will definitely return, maybe I'll give 'family style' a try.

However, the flavors were definitely there, which is what matters most. I tried the alcapurria, and while it was decent, I've had better. The chicken inside was a little dry and could have used more seasoning and flavor. On the other hand, the chicken empanada was really good. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and had a nice seasoned taste that stood out. That's definitely something I would order again. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of my lunch, but I also ordered pernil with rice and gandules, as well as baked chicken with rice and gandules. As someone who loves pernil, I have to say that Puerto Ricans make some of the best pernil. It's always well-seasoned, flavorful, and tastes clean rather than overly greasy. The pernil here did not disappoint. The rice and gandules were also very good. While it doesn't quite compare to my husband's aunt's homemade version, it was still packed with flavor and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would come back to try more items from the menu. If you're in the area and craving Puerto Rican food, I think it's worth giving this place a try.

I walked in and two super nice young ladies were making and serving the food. I appreciated that I was greeted right away and my order taken right away. If Yelp had star options for both the food and the service, I definitely would have given them 4 or 5 stars. I almost always go completely overboard when I try a place the first time. I picked up almost $80 worth of takeout so that I could try a little bit of everything. I really, really wanted to love the food here but I didn't. Unfortunately I didn't really find anything that I ordered that flavorful. The food wasn't bad by any means, it just didn't have the delicious flavors that I normally associate with great Puerto Rican food. As I mentioned it was an unbelievably hot day so maybe the cook was having an off day because of that. If I'm ever driving by there, I'd probably give it another chance since it has such great reviews from other people.

I would definitely stop in again or order takeout from here. It's a nice family restaurant with authentic cuisine. Parking might be an issue since it's in middle of New Brunswick.

Service could be frustrating at times, as they think you want to hang out there for a while. I'm okay with in and out. The dining area can use a little bit of sprucing up. They get a lot of traffic in there, thought to keep up with the furniture. The lighting is terrible. Need to update to LED. If you are hungry, Go!

I read other reviews talking about the decor, service etc. I think with a bit of TLC this could be an outstanding option in the area. The food was good. Portions were decent and flavorful. Service was also good. Ambiance, so here's where you have to pay attention because if what you as a customer see isn't clean imagine what we don't see. Tables were wobbly, condiments weren't sanitized/cleaned and the bathrooms are not properly tended to and actually had roaches. Toilet paper rolls were on top of the toilets as were the paper towels. Bathroom cleanliness is so important and by the time a customer sees roaches in the bathroom it means they've been ignored other places. Because bathrooms are not typically a food source.
