never again
I have used Harry's Locksmithing business for a little over 20 years. I own a small business on w elk ave, and have needed locks worked on, fixed, and keys made numerous times. I have always trusted their work in the past. I went to him today in need of help. I bought my son a car, and needed the internals from one trunk lock swapped into another. Harry asked me where I bought the lock from, I told him truthfully Ebay. (Why should I lie about it? It's not like he will have a trunk lock for a 1992 firebird sitting there on his counter waiting for someone like me to just come buy.) He proceeded to tell me in a rather condescending tone "Ebay would put me out of business if they could!" He then told his worker (son maybe?) to come talk to me. As his worker passed by him, Harry said "Ebay here" in a snide tone. I did not appreciate this one bit. The worker proceeded to tell me what I wanted done could not be done, and I should go to a dealer. So, I left. I took my locks to another locksmith in Johnson City and was able to get the job done I needed. Thinking on it, I don't think Ebay will be putting Harry out of business anytime soon as they work on walmart locks, lowes locks, home depot locks, all forms of automobile locks, and I'm sure, many others every day. What difference would a lock from Ebay be? The ONLY thing putting him out of business will be his attitude and how he treats customers, especially when they have been long time customers like I have. I found a different locksmith who did not mind helping me and my Ebay lock. I am sorry, but I will never recommend this place again. read more
