Got a call to pick up my daughters dress. The girl on the phone said come right away or we will have to charge you a storage fee. I thought this a bit bold as they just told me it was in. Upon arrival I watched the girl take it out a plastic bag to put in a garment bag. I said to her wow you didn't steam it? It looks like its been sitting in a ball on the floor. She ignored my comment. She folded the garment bag in half and said make sure to unfold it to hang so you don't get a crease. I laughed and said don't think it could get creased then it is! I sent an email to the store when I got home thinking that this was a mistake that they didnt steam it. (there is a steamer sitting at the front desk) They replied they sell too many dresses and just unpackage them upon arrival. I have been to many stores and never had my garment look like they just unbagged it from shipping. Even cheap stores in the mall dont sell cloths this way. I spent a GREAT deal of money on this dress and expect it to come looking nice. My daughters friend got given the wrong size, I can just imagine the nightmare they are going through. Would not recommend this store! Go try on as they have lots, then order online or from a different store!

The vibes were really off from the manager or whoever was in charge…read more I had a dress on layaway and made two follow-up appointments. I had to cancel the first due to scheduling issues, but I confirmed the second. When I called to make the follow-up appointments, I explained that I wanted to come in and try on the dress I had chosen again to make sure it was the one I wanted. During my first appointment, I saw the dress on the mannequin and loved how it looked. Luckily, they had it in my size. When they brought it out, they mentioned it was wrinkled because it had just been taken out and hadn't been steamed yet. I decided to go with the dress and put it on layaway, but I had a hard time seeing past the wrinkles in the photos I took when I first tried it on. That's why I wanted a follow-up appointment and asked twice if it was possible to have the dress steamed like the other dresses on the floor. Both times, whoever I spoke to said they could do that for me. Today, I went in for my follow-up appointment (I live an hour outside of Calgary), and they brought out the dress, but it wasn't steamed. When I asked about it, the manager or whoever she had immediately told me they couldn't steam the dress unless I paid for it in full. I tried to explain the initial conversations I had with the other staff who booked my follow-up appointments, but she was dismissive and her vibes were totally off. She kept repeating that they only steam fully paid dresses. I was going to pay it off today as I had it on layaway, but she questioned who booked my appointment and demanded her workers find out. She kept talking over me and to her workers in a tone that made me feel uncomfortable. I tried to show her the image of the wrinkly dress I had when I first tried it on, but she didn't seem interested and kept saying they don't steam dresses on layaway. I tried to explain that it was steamed on the mannequin and the other dresses on the floor weren't as wrinkly, but she kept asking her workers to find out who booked my appointment. Eventually, she said they could steam the top material to smooth it out, which was all I had wanted and requested. She quickly had two workers in the back steaming the top material for me, and I got to try it on wrinkle-free. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable from her tone and attitude towards me and her workers that I shut down. I didn't feel good after that and didn't want to engage with her or anyone there. I ended up deciding to keep looking for my dress elsewhere and didn't want to get that dress anymore from them. The worker and other manager who helped me during my first appointment were so welcoming and hyped me up, and I left feeling so good. But after today, I think I'll stay far away from David's Bridal. It's unfortunate because I loved the dress, but the way the older manager made me feel was no good, and I don't need that kind of energy near me. So, I decided to let go of the dress, and they took $140 off my $350 layaway price, which I find unfair as I really wanted the dress, but the whole experience was off, so I guess I'll just take the loss and move on far away from this place.

The experience was okay, but there are a few things to know when visiting Ever After. You can only enter the parking lot by driving east bound on 16th Avenue. Not a big deal, but it could be a hassle for someone who doesn't know where they're going. The shop itself is small and very full of dresses. There really isn't room to lounge around or casually browse with your friends while the bride-to-be tries on gowns, especially if there's more than one woman on a mission. Some of us sat on the floor. I only noticed two change rooms and one large mirror, so it could get crowded fast. If you do end up here with more than two people, you'd better hope not many more show up to shop. All in all, not a bad experience. I'm sure you can never have too many stores to choose from when trying to find THE dress, right? 14/30 for Yelp's 30 Day Challenge

I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment on an early Tuesday afternoon. As soon as I arrived, I was promptly greeted by a consultant and the owner. The consultant led me to the back and started asking me about my budget and my preferences before leading me to the dresses. She explained they were divided by designer, and encouraged me to pick out some dresses that I liked. She also went around and picked out some recommendations that she thought I would like. I mentioned I wanted to stay under $2500, but that I could be flexible if I found a dress I really loved. She was very respectful of my price point, and brought a significant number of dresses I liked. I'm the kind of person who likes to try on almost everything, if only to eliminate dresses. I must have tried on over a dozen dress, and the consultant was very helpful and patient. She was kind, and made me feel very comfortable. The only reason I am not giving C&C 5 stars is because she had to take care of a customer over the phone for upwards of 20 minutes, leaving me alone in my dressing room. The owner was taking care of another customer, so I sat in on the other appointment and became friends with the bride (haha). I think the situation could have been better handled if she delegated me to the owner, so the owner could make sure that I was doing ok (while keeping her focus on her first bride). The consultant was very apologetic though. I DID wind up finding the perfect dress at HALF my budget ($1300), and I never felt hurried or pressured into a dress. Despite the phone call, this was definitely the best service I experienced, and I have been to 5 or 6 different stores in the Calgary area. I do strongly recommend Cameo & Cufflinks because when the consultant was around, the service was exceptional. Although their selection is on the smaller side, the dresses are all beautiful with a wide variety of price points and silhouettes.

We walked in and were greeted by a very nice woman at the front who showed us where the dresses were. The dress selection and colour variety were very nice, but all the sample sizes were very very small. My sister could only try on a fraction of the dresses we wanted to see. We were virtually alone for most of the time we were there and had to guess at which change rooms we could use, and I can't decide if the one girl we talked to was being purposefully unhelpful or just didn't hear us correctly. I realize that most of these problems I've brought up may be completely irrelevant if I was a bride with an appointment, so I don't think it should dissuade anyone from checking it out. All in all, nice dresses, cold atmosphere. But on the plus side there's a kickass record store next door!

We never go down to -40 nor half of that. The coldest we can ever get is 0 degree Celsius. Vancouver started introducing Canada Goose just last year and it only started to become popular last year. Call me naive but I have never heard of Canada Goose until only back in 2017 when I was first in Calgary (I left at the beginning of November 2017 so I didn't need a winter jacket). I don't even think that kind of winter jacket was ever sold in Vancouver until in recent years or maybe it was just never popular. I thought about going to Eddie Bauer to check out their jackets. But where I am located, I am limited to what I can get. I ended up going to the Core Mall, to Holt Renfrew. Prices are the same as any other Holt Renfrew. The jacket came to $1,102 including tax. It is great that I will be living in Alberta during the winter and it is just one tax. The items sold at Holt are of high quality. Service was ok. When I walked in I wasn't dressed top down like someone with money. After I tried a few things on, the sales person walked toward me and spoke to me in Mandarin. Only issue is that I don't speak Mandarin. So, I told her English only (in case she starts speaking another foreign language). So, the sales person is a bit slow in recommendation. She seems to be a student. She is young and pretty looking. But she doesn't seem to know the products she is selling very well. I mean I guess Holt hires based on looks with not much training. Well, I ended up buying my Canada Goose jacket. But in terms of the service I get at Simons, Simons has better service. Also Simons is not as high end or as high of a price point compared to Holt. But I do shop at Simons quite a bit. Well I just needed something to survive the winter given I am living in Calgary downtown and selections is limited. I am buying out of necessity and less of what it is. Definitely need that jacket to do grocery shopping and etc. Holt Renfrew has a similar layout as Vancouver Holt Renfrew. It has multiple floors and the store is bright and spaciously laid out. In the USA, Holt Renfrew competitor is Nordstrom. I do prefer Nordstrom over Holt.

However, I didn't check the tie clip or cuff link prices, so they might be lower.
