Here is shoe store that I never want to go back to... and that's saying a lot because I LOVE shoes. The saleslady there was so rude and dismissive of me, I was almost offended. She didn't offer a hand or ask if I needed anything. In fact, she came out of the back when I came in, stood there for a moment, and then went immediately to the back again. I don't know what her deal was, but it was very unprofessional. I'll admit that they had some really nice shoes there, but I couldn't even believe the prices! They were waaay over-priced for what they were. I saw some flats there, which barely consisted of anything, that were still $115. Does that seem ridiculous to anyone else? Even the baby shoes were $60. Not only were the prices outrageous, but the selection wasn't that wide. They had one wall full of boots and such, and a tiny stand in the middle of the place, but that was it. For the size of the store, and the amount they charge, I would expect the selection to be greater. Two thumbs way down for this snooty, expensive, not-so-great shoe store. read more

It's nice to know that there is a boutique that sells European and American small designer shoes, but the store is cramped to the nines, dirty and the price points are insanely high on some of the brands they carry... Also the sales person or whoever was really standoffish and unwelcoming. It seems to be a consistent issue if you read all the reviews. Won't be back... what a shame. read more

Love love love Luna Blue! They carry some pretty awesome footwear that is just not your typical everyday shoe. This is one of the few shops in town that bother to carry boots for those of us with athletic (read fat) calves. This will be inconsequential to those not similarly challenged for those of us gals with calves to be reckoned with are grateful. Variety in stock aside the folks at Luna Blue are always happy and friendly and total shoe fetish enablers when it comes so showing you other styles you may be interested in. They also carry some pretty funky clothes to compliment your new footwear. Sweaters, tshirts, tunics, dresses....everything you could want or need. Check out the online store. I absolutely adore this little slice of heaven! Luna Blue has a lovely selection of unique shoes you won't find in the mall. Sandals, high heels, cute little flats, sporty shoes and AMAZING boots. Oh, and a cute selection of dresses, sweaters and scarves too. Regarding a few complaints about the prices. If you're used to shopping at Payless don't come here. However if you want a good quality shoe that will last for years (unless your dog eats them) this is the place. I'm hard on my footwear and these shoes hold up. I bought some cowboy boots here today, after someone recommending them to me. They were on sale for $69 - a steal compared to the prices I've seen in Calgary - and was informed that these kinds of sales happen all the time. When I first walked in, I noticed the store was VERY small. It's a small room with a big mirror, shoe/boot collection, and a rack of purses. It's kind of a hole in the wall and certain parts need repairs, but it's adorable. The sales lady was very warm and kind and had no problem with finding things for me (which is why I'm surprised about these other reviews!). I told her that I saw the sale online and I was interested in a certain pair, and she got them immediately for me. I told her my size and she brought them out. I looked in the mirror, told her my concern, and she offered her advice, which I appreciated. I picked a pair immediately and went through the whole transaction in about 15 minutes. I think this little shoe store is great! Very unique styles and the prices are reasonable. Also, they have great sales! The girls that I have dealt with were very helpful and went out of their way to help me out. The shoes that you will find at Luna Blue are not what you will find in the mall, and not all of them will be what you personally gravitate towards. However, I guarantee you will find a style there that will make you go home and think about them... and then go back and buy them because they are so different and you MUST have them! Great looking shoes. Huge selection of boots. I went in prepared to purchase but the sales girl totally ignored me. There were only 3 other people in the store. I had some questions about the boots but she ever acknowledged me, so I left. I didn't care for the atmosphere or the service. I had a friend who went and ha a great time and good service (different sales person) so I'll try and go back and give it another shot. Ouch! That was a pretty scathing review from Lindsay K. My name is Laura and I'm one of the co-owners of Luna Blue, and while I feel everyone is entitled to their own opinion....I just wanted to clear up a few things up. First, I'd like to apologize for the way Lindsay felt she was treated. We have a very small staff (just 3 of us actually) but we're all very friendly, outgoing and approachable people. Our reputation in the Calgary fashion community is really quite the opposite of rude and dismissive. We've become known for our amazing personalised service. I can't imagine what was going on that day, but I feel awful she felt so snubbed. I also just want to take a quick minute to talk about the differences between shoe stores at the mall and shoe boutiques. We are a boutique. We don't have racks and racks of shoes because that's the point, keep it interesting and exclusive. We may only have one wall and one island of shoes, but on those surfaces we feel we have a pretty extensive collection of fabulous funky shoes and boots. The tail end of December is not a great time to review a fall/winter collection as fall shoes start arriving in August, so the goal is not to have reams and reams of shoes this late in the season. Everything has been on sale and expected to move. I guess what I'm trying to say is that a fall/winter collection is best reviewed in October/early November, not at the end of the season. Our prices might also be a bit higher than at the mall, but sometimes you have to pay a bit more to stand out in the crowd. We're actually known to be quite affordable in comparison to other boutiques. A lot of our shoes are made in Spain, Italy and the UK (not all in China), so that drives the price up a bit as well. I'm not clear were the $60 baby shoes came from because I assure you we only carry one style of baby shoes and they cost $35 (regular price, not on sale). I'd like to extend an olive branch to Lindsay, perhaps she could come back in the spring and give us another shot. Our spring shoes are just starting to arrive, and we're pretty excited about what we're seeing so far. Just give us another month and we should have a pretty stellar spring collection! This place is a hidden gem and I always love looking at the website and going into the shop. The staff are so friendly and fantastic to deal with. They make you feel like family when you walk in. I was in Vancouver for two years and could not find a store like Luna Blue. To deal with this I ordered the clothes online so that I could have a little piece of home. I will no longer shop at the store. After making a comment about where a dress was from and the quality of that dress, my comment was deleted and I was blocked. You would think that a store that valued customers would focus on addressing customer concerns rather than attempting to delete them away. How truly disappointing. If I wanted to buy cheap dresses made and shipped from China, I'd buy them directly online rather than spending the $79 in your store. read more

Luna Blue is awesome. It's my favourite shoe store in Calgary. They have great shoes at a great price. She probably went in the back to pet her dog... and if you think $115 for a pair of shoes is expensive, you can't love shoes very much. One of my favorite boutiques in Calgary. They carry brands not seen in the mall -- so if you're after a unique, current, fashion-forward look, this is the place for you. They CAN be pricey, but I do not believe they are outrageous as one of the reviewers said. They range $70-300 for shoes and boots regular price, and that is no different than places like Town Shoes or Brown's in the mall. They also have sales towards the end of the season. And it's well worth it to pay a little extra for something unique. This store carries brands like Miz Mooz, MJUS, Kelsi Dagger, Very Volatile, and some others... they are not to everyone's tastes (a lot of funkier as opposed to overtly sexy styles). They also sell clothes, bags and some jewellery -- VERY reasonably priced. The clothes are also on the funky, quirkier side. The quality of some of the clothing is not the best (I had one top fall apart at the sleeve seam -- I did wear it many times, but still). However they are a small business so of course the prices will be higher than a chain store like Forever 21 and H&M. The service here is very friendly, low pressure and unobtrusive. They are not in your face which I appreciate but are also very helpful if you'd like to try something on or have questions. I highly recommend Luna Blue if you are more of a creative dresser and have unique taste! read more

While I love the product this store carries, the lady who works there (the owner, I think?) is not friendly and actually rather rude. Not only have I spent a lot of money in this store, I've also sent many people there, only to be treated like I'm not welcome and an annoyance, Doubtful I'll ever go back and certainly won't recommend it to anyone ever again. read more
