STAFF IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOESNT CARE! I waited nearly two months for an appointment. When I made the appt the staff said I would need a referral from my primary care doctor. I called my insurance company, , and spoke to two different people to confirm that I indeed did not require a referral. I called Dr. Machaks office back and let them know what I was told. I gave them the confirmation from the insurance company confirming no referral was necessary. At that time I was told that if the insurance company did not pay, I would have to pay out-of-pocket. I said not a problem. Fast forward to the day of my appointment, GPS sent me to the wrong location. I called the office twice to ask where the location was. and no one answered. I looked it up using Google maps this time and it brought me to the right location. I called the office a third time to let them know I was only a few minutes away at that time. someone answered and she said she may have to reschedule my appt depending on what my paperwork showed. In total, I showed up 10 minutes late to my appointment, despite going to the wrong location, and handed over my paperwork. Erica, at the front desk told me that because I had TRICARE I needed a referral. And since I didn't have the referral, she couldn't see me. I explained to her that I have already spoken to the office 6 weeks ago explained that I didn't in fact need a referral according to Tricare reserve Select. Erica told me she has dealt with Tricare in the past, and that they are out of network for Tricare. I explained to her that Tricare reserve Select was different than regular Tricare. She didn't want to hear it. She said at this time that she would have to charge me a $250 deposit and if insurance covered it she would reimburse me. She said I could pay the $250 AND she would have to reschedule my appointment to give her time to call Tricare herself. I am feeling at this time that she is suggesting I am lying about what my insurance company said. I am also frustrated that all of this could have been handled earlier, before my appointment. I asked her why she didn't explain this six weeks ago and that if the office was so worried about my referral, why didn't they call my insurance company six weeks ago? Why today, the day of my appointment, is this suddenly an issue? The conversation got heated between the two of us. I felt the staff didn't properly address this in the beginning. I also said when I called 6 weeks ago to explain I was told by my insurance company that no referral was needed, no one discussed having to charge me $250. Yes I did raise my voice in frustration. because I feel like all of this could've been handled when I first called them back. As I could feel my frustration rising, I would back down and speak softer. I explained that I did everything I was supposed to do to prepare and I have waited all this time for this appointment, only to be told something different when I arrive. Eventually I told Erica that I didn't want another appointment, I would just find another doctors office who would treat their prospective patients better. It's very frustrating to say the least, that all of this could have been handled prior to my arrival. Even though Apple maps leading me to the wrong location was frustrating, I would've understood needing to change the appointment. I don't understand why they waited until I showed up to confirm whether or not I needed a referral? And I don't understand the sudden charge for a referral? None of this was explained 6 weeks ago. I did my due diligence on my end to prepare for this appointment. I feel the staff didn't do theirs. Dr. Marshak came out from wherever he was and told me not to raise my voice to his staff. I apologized and said I was frustrated with the way his staff handled the situation. He said he didn't care and asked me to leave. He also said He was not interested in even hearing what happened. This is all the more reason not to come here as a patient. If a doctor doesn't try even care to hear what happened or try to understand how his staff didn't perform them duties properly, then no telling what else would go wrong, potentially with surgery or recovery!!. I understand, to a point, his decision in siding with his staff, but he could've de-escalated the situation by simply hearing me out. Yes, my voice was raised, but at no time was a cursing or yelling or screaming. I have worked for a doctors office before and have had to call insurance companies regarding referrals. As staff we are to ensure when patients come to their appointment, it is a smooth, comfortable experience. This staff did not. I hope Erica and the staff learn the difference between Tricare and Tricare Reserve Select! Instead, It feels like they are only about the money. Since Dr Marshak isn't interested in knowing the truth and I doubt his staff will admit they dropped the ball big time, I am writing this review to let everyone else know the truth. read more

Had a referral to see this guy. First appointment didn't work out (see Google review). Made a second appointment for the assessment, hired a caregiver to take care of my disabled spouse so I could go to the appointment, and arrived more than 15 minutes early. They collected my copay. I was taken to an exam room where my medical information was entered into their computer system. Marshak came in and did a brief assessment and then announced he would not perform the procedure because of my negative google review. If this guy was only determined to turn me away, why would he waste all his staff time and my time. Clearly the problem here isn't just with his receptionist but comes from the top. Dr Marshak is phenomenal! I've been going to him for 4 years now and have referred many people to him for a reason. He's professional, attentive, extremely knowledgeable and will make sure to explain different options but won't oversell what most other cosmetic surgeons tend to do. He's about making you feel your best and will explain if a product will look unnatural if he feels so. As a man, I didn't think I needed any surgery, but after his staff's extensive testing followed by his professional advice, I chose to have my eyelids raised. Now, I find that I am a strong advocate for all of us to acknowledge the fact that gravity is not our friend! The dr was very good but the followup servies was not. I traveled for two months, three months after surgery so I was unable to go to my follow up visits that were included after surgury for 6 mo. when I returned they said it will be over 6 mo. since surgery before he could see me so I would have to pay over $200 for another office visit to see the doctor for the usual 5 mins. I asked to check with the office mgr on a second call said no. Third call I wanted to see contract for my surgery that explained followup vists. They never got back to me. read more

Dr. Marshak is one in a million. His skills are unmatched. He was recommended to me by some friends who got some cosmetic work done, I was so impressed by the outcomes. It's been two years now and every time I go to get work done I feel like someone took a magic wand and erased years away. His front office staff is always professional, although I think they have gone through some changes recently, you get used to talking to the people you enjoy. Dr. Marshak always takes the time to discuss his products thoroughly and ensure that I feel comfortable. Recently, I did the facial procedure that uses the microneedles, it blew me away! I have been going to Dr. Marshak's office for several years. I get the Dermaplane service on my face. Although I have never seen the doctor for a consultation or procedure, I always watched his interaction with his patients. He has a soft voice and seems the type that would give a patient as much time as they need to discuss their concerns. He had very happy patients there and I know of 2 people personally that had procedures done on their eyes. It was so natural looking, they were very happy with Dr. Marshak. Dr. Marshak preformed my facelift on June 17, 2020. The lift included my eyes, lower face, and neck. In addition, I had a chemical peel of my face, neck and chest. I first met Dr. Marshak in Dec. 2019 when I was interviewing various Doctors in the Valley for my procedure. From the first meeting I was impressed with him. He has a nice, easy manner and I instantly felt comfortable. He explained his plan in a language that was easy for me to understand. I scheduled my surgery for June 8, 2020. Dr. Marshak checked in with me a couple of times before my surgery by personally calling me on the phone. I was so impressed with this. My surgery did have to be rescheduled because of the Corona Virus, but, it was only delayed for only one week. The surgery itself took more than 6 hours, and I was a sight for sore eyes (literally) when it was over. My first night was ok, I had some pain medication to help me. The next day, I had an appointment with Dr. Marshak for him to remove my bandages. I then started seeing him every other day for 3 weeks, he even came in on Saturdays. He called me at home to check on me. I found him to be very compassionate, kind, and caring. I never felt uncomfortable asking any question that I had. It's now been 5 weeks since my surgery and the results are amazing. I still have swelling around my eyes and my cheeks, but I feel the end is in sight. Erika, Dr. Marshaks' assistant is wonderful too, very professional and friendly. Great doctor! I had eyelid surgery last week. He made the procedure painless. I was in and out in one hour and thirty minutes. I appears that I may have developed some sort of an eye infection so I called his office this morning. The staff told me that he was not in the office today and gave me his cell number. I called and left a message and he promptly returned my call and said he would meet me in his office at 12:30 today. Not many doctors have his compassion and make themselves so available. he's the best! have zero faith in doctors in this area, but dr. marshak is different. i have total faith and trust in him. have had filler injections from several docs, both in the valley here and in beverly hills and was always disappointed. dr. marshak knows just what to do to keep me from getting lumps from the injections and i just love him! he also is my neuro-opthalmologist and gives me injections in the obicularis occuli every 10 weeks. those hurt but couldn't live without them. read more
