Located in downtown Toledo in a neighborhood that had me checking my doors, this small pocket park is interesting for the large arch that bisects it. The arch is looking a little stained from the years and the park could use a lot of attention from the city.
The plaque reads, "Harry Kessler Park. Dedicated on October 16, 1982 to the people of East Toledo in honor of Harry W. Kessler. Mayor, City of Toledo, 1971-1977. A special friend of community revitalization."
The grounds in the park are mostly smooth and the landscaping is trimmed. There was surprisingly no litter. I thought the memorial arch is quite pretty and it properly just needs some power washing to bring it back to new.
There are no benches in the park, perhaps to keep homeless people from camping out here.
