We threw a birthday party here. You can rent the pavilion through the Bowles Life Center. It costs $75 but it is yours for as long as you want. We rented it from 12pm until 11pm even though we used it until about 6pm. We wanted to be sure we had enough time to set up and break down the party decorations, etc. If you want to do anything special, i.e. pony rides or a bounce house, you can request a permit for free and party on! We had pony rides for our party. It was a blast! The bathrooms are a little worn out, as are the tables, but overall this is just a cute, fun place to bring a picnic lunch and let the kids run wild! In spite of its size, the park is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and has a lot to offer families with children. In the rear of the park there were rows of huge blocks of rock ascending the hill to the nearby street. By far this was the best place to sit in order to capitalize on the most shade from the trees. Now that I know this park is here, I will swing by more often.

This park saldo has several seating areas and a covered section. A trail runs through the park to bike or travel by foot. It would be best to not visit the park after a rainy day. This park has 3 different parking locations along the Oakhurst street.

Which is totally understandble! It's a family friendly park, but it was definitely a lot lol We brought our dogs here, and we had a blast though. All the dog owners there were friendly and respectful of having to be in leash. Like I said, nice little off leash trails if you want a cute adventure and then about a mile long paved road if you wanna stick to just something short and simple. I recommended it if you are comfortable with lots of families with children :)

There is also a children's playground in the Moody Plaza area. This is also where the food trucks line up, and where La Parada from Mi Cocina is, so to me, it's a pretty important Plaza to know about!

Two cautions when visiting: signs inform it is permit parking between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. even on curbside street parking, and other signs indicate it is private property and to be enjoyed at one's own risk. I rolled the dice in parking without a permit. Of course, I don't advocate breaking the law. (Regardless of how short my visit may have been.) Other than that, make the time and effort to visit.
