If you value your pets life take them to a different vet We paid 600 to see my female for an issue she had after doing a breeding These so called "vets" didn't even know to do a pg test to see to get her levels to see if putting her on medication would even work . It didn't 600 for a bunch of over priced antibiotics that did work cuz the didn't even know to do the test or they did but didn't care. Took her to a real repo vet that's did a pg said her levels were 1.7 way to high for the med to work without several round of hormone shot to get her levels down so the antibiotics will work. This could have killed her if left untreated. But I don't expect them to care. I see they respond to these reviews with the most bs excuses and lies you ever heard!! Had to have my 20 year old cat put down all of a sudden and it was a Sunday afternoon. They were very compassionate, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, talked us and my kids through what would happen, they were awesome! After, they made us two sets of paw prints and even a nose print for both of my kids as well as a tiny jar with some of our kitties fur in it. This hospital will forever have a place in my heart. Our dog Ellie went there really sick and was there for about a week and had surgery there. She came home for a couple days and got sick again and went back and ended up passing away there. One of the vets went in on Easter morning to check on her and found her passed away. He came back in on Easter evening to perform exploratory surgery to try to find out what happened because he knew how much we loved her and were hurting. While she was there, the vet techs showed her SO much love and care. They would stay after hours to hand feed her when she wouldn't eat, and they would even come in the middle of the night to check on her on their time off. It brings us some comfort knowing how much she was loved before she passed away. Afterward, they sent us sweet cards and flowers to show their condolences. If you're looking for somewhere to take your fur babies that will love and care for them as much as you do, this is the place! Receptionist inattentive and not friendly. Took my dog in for gum surgery and teeth cleaning. I was informed that they probably didn't have time to clean the teeth. I asked if they could trim his nails and was explained the two different techniques they could do on the nails. After back and forth between the vet assistant and vet I was informed that they may not have the time to do either, but maybe both or just one. The vet didn't feel it was necessary to talk in person with me about the procedure or why his teeth maybe couldn't be cleaned when it was scheduled. Lack of courtesy and incompetent. I walked out. This place is awful and you should never bring your pets here.. i've heard of multiple instances where they kill an animal, then blame it on the owner after that person just spent hundreds of dollars to lose a companion. they have the girls labeled receptionists on the website dealing with medicine and other things. all while the woman who seems to be in charge walks around texting and telling people what to do. If I could choose 0 stars that would be it. I have been going here for 6 years and since they were bought out about 1 and a half years ago service has gone down hill. You will have issues with getting ahold of anyone and very long wait times in the office and on the phone. I have gotten horrible service for the past 4 months and could not get a return phone call from the assistant manager, the only person that could help me with the situation I was in. After all was said and done and it's taken care of with no help from her she wants to reach out and tell me that I'm in the wrong and I will no longer be a customer because of being argumentative. I was trying to resolve a situation to get my animals care that was not so important to them. If you are looking into taking your animals here... DON'T DO IT!! Highly unprofessional. read more

I really love this place and try to use it as often as I can, but anymore I hardly ever get in in the time frame I need. Even on Sundays emergency hours, it's first come first serve, which doesn't feel great when you've been a loyal repeat customer for many years. I have been bringing my animals here for years and Harrison Animal Hospital has always been extremely reliable (especially in emergencies), reasonably priced, and very supportive in helping me make the best decisions for my pets. for example, a year or two ago my chihuahua Was attacked and when I called them, they didn't question it at all and told me to bring her in. They were able to hold her overnight and get her the surgery she needed the very next day. I am forever grateful to have such reliable people in charge of my pets health. read more

They messed up my dogs dewclaw surgery- bad. We went in for a check up on his stitches (they did internal stitches) and they said it was healing perfectly. We went back to them for what was supposed to be another checkup and they said he needed another surgery to restitch his right one. When they called to tell us he was out of surgery they told us they did his left one too, again! We now have a pup who's been in bandages and a cone for a month!! read more

today was probably my worst experience to a veterinarian. my dog has been coughing up blood and drooling A LOT! I grabbed a 2:15P appointment they had available, I was thinking perfect! I can do this and pick my girl up. 2:15 turned into 2:35 I checked on the status they said I was next. Nice 2:35 turned into 2:45p that's when they told me that the doc was running behind. could have INFORMED me of that earlier. 2:50 I was out the door without being seen, no reschedule nothing. I made the decision to make a 30 minUte trip to COVEDALE to have him seen. I have never had this type of experience from a Vet. Covedale vets informed me before confirming the appointment that my vet may be running behind. this was insane and I will not go back. read more

YIKES. This place has gone down hill very quickly. When I started taking our dogs here it was great. Dr. Kremer is a wonderful veterinarian, but she is extremely hard to get an appointment with. Scott is the best with your pet. He treats them like his own. Unfortunately, the others are not as pleasant. When you walk in you are not really greeted with "Hi, how are you?" More like a "Pets name?" The front desk staff needs a serious attitude adjustment. It's extremely uncomfortable. If you can avoid having Dr. Carlin I would highly suggest it. She does nothing but try to squeeze your pockets empty with ridiculous tests and false claims of your pets health. The actual concern for your pet is not a priority for her. After the last awful experience I ended up taking my dogs to a new vet. Now that we have switched it has been nothing but a complete headache to get their paperwork switched over to the new office. Harrison animal hospital makes you jump through hoops to get your own pets records switched over. I would think twice before bringing your pet here. read more

I have to say that Dr Kramer has always been an amazing vet. She does go above and beyond - when you can get in. We have been taking our pets here for about 12 to 13 years. And the care has been great. However, after 7 pets and many friends referred there - things have changed and we are transferring away to another vet. It seems that they have built their clientele to a capacity that they cannot handle. It seems impossible now to get a sick pet seen. They are booked out super far and don't seem to have set aside any room for emergent care. It's very sad. I literally cried the last time I called and couldn't get my sick cat in because of the "new" procedure you have to go through to get approval to bring in a sick pet if they are booked. I wish them luck but we won't be making that 30 minute drive anymore. To top that off - when I called just to make sure they had cancelled a previously made appointment before my cat got sicker - they could have cared less that we are transferring. The care seems to have been drained away in seeking the almighty dollar. So sad.... read more

In part 2 years have had increasingly difficult time (1) getting appointment times,(2) Seeing Dr. Kramer and (3) getting routine medication refills ordered! I have called 5 times this past week for dogs medication refill without success! May be time for a switch, my dog is out of her medication and dispute calling 3 days in a row, Kroger has not heard from them! read more

I noticed a huge gap in care when I ended up having to take my grandfathers dog to an emergency vet due to the lack of judgement call At Harrison animal "hospital ". Lasix is a prescription the dog takes to remove fluid from the lungs. well the senior dog kept coughing and without being told to bring her in for cough that wasn't easing up, harrison animal hospital called and said up the dosage. We up the dosage and the next day the dog was stumbling, not being able to walk, swollen around her bladder area. I called animal hospital and they said they couldnt see her to take her to the emergency room, which lets be honest, pissed me off because i wanted them to see her since that's her vet office... but rushed the dog over to the emergency vet. They saved her! They did a full exam stating a whole list of things and sent us home with medications to help and to follow up with animal hospital for further treatments like ear infection, skin infection, and over all to see how she was doing. The ER vet even reached out a couple days later to see how the dog was doing. i eventually set up an appointment with Harrison animal hospital and brought the dog in for a follow up, medication refill, shot, and nail trim. The bitter vet comes in and asks about how the dog and I explainEd about what the lasix did and the Er visit and she gave me this confused look and remark as if I didn't know what I was talking about with the situation that happened the day I took the dog to the Er... even though they sent over paper work, the vet never went to retrieve it to look at it to make sure they didn't need to change anything. She goes, she's okay now right.. she's not coughing where it's a wet cough right.. and begins to explain once again about stuff I already discussed to redeem theirselves that they made a good call on the lasix. the vet never looked at the paper work, never followed up with the other issues about the senior dog, nothing... just that the animal hospital was right with their decisions.. and hurried us out. no mention of ear infection, skin infection, dry eyes nothing was mentioned like the Er vet said she needed care for, but, that's because it was mentioned in the notes that I assumed were looked at before hand, and that's where I messed up by not making the vet retrieve them herself to look over I guess. I figured when the other office faxed paper work over it goes in the dogs file to be looked at and then they say something about it.... apparently not. The decision has been made to change vets due to the lack of care on the senior dog that almost costed the life and without further information to continue good care. Lasix not only gets rid of fluid in the lungs but it also gives the animals neurological issues. This isn't the first time I've personally had issues with this office in similar situations with my own animals. Do better... be better. read more

I love the veterinarian's but most of the office staff are unfriendly and frankly incompetent. My son already took his pup to another vet and so has my coworker. I currently live in West chester and I continue to make the drive because it is worth every penny. They are very well trained and will make sure you baby is in the best hands and will be treated for whatever it is that is going on. Most times going to the vet can be like going to the mechanic and they try and sell you a-z when you only need a and that is NOT the case here! They are so friendly and just the best!! I really like Harrison Animal Hosp. My dog broke his paw, Cast, Xrays, Medication, office visit, anesthesia, total bill $197.00. That would have cost me double or more at Ban-field in pet smart. My friend recommended this place to me for their reasonable pricing and helpful staff. I took my cat here when another vet quoted me over $1500 to remove bladder stones, and this place's estimate was less than half the cost. The surgeon/owner seemed very laid back and honest. My cat stayed at the office after his surgery for two days because I was out of town for business. When I got home, I noticed his surgical site was infected. I ended up having to take him back, and he had to stay for a few more days (I was not charged for this additional care). I was extremely frustrated and upset. It was even more frustrating when the vet tech told me, my cat wouldn't "let" them put a cone on him to prevent licking (which leads to infection). I do have to mention that my cat is a terror at the vet, but this excuse is unacceptable; given the fact that this is what they are trained to do. The surgeon/owner was good about calling me everyday with status updates. After 3 days, I was able to bring my cat home. I was glad he was finally home, but not happy that he did not come home alone. He came back with fleas, which he did not have prior to going to the vet since he is an indoor cat. It has been almost a month since his original surgery date. He still has a small opening that is oozing puss and going to require additional antibiotics. This process has been very exhausting. Overall, I have a neutral opinion about this place. The price is very reasonable and the staff are friendly, but I am not 100% satisfied with the outcome and quality of care that my cat received. read more
