This Harris Teeter is across the street so it is my go to Teeter. Very much a neighborhood store for the Glenwood Village/Carolina Country Club neighborhood of the Five Points area of Raleigh. Today, I just went on another "beat the storm" shop. Today was ahead of 15" of predicted snow; last week was the ice storm. Store was very busy and pretty well stocked. I was able to get everything on my list. I use the app, and love it. They offer a 5% discount to seniors 60 and over on Thursdays. This is very nice. One key service that Harris Teeter does, that to my knowledge, no other Supermarket Chain does, is that the check out person unloads your cart for you. Whenever I go to Harris Teeter I normally browse the ailse to see what I find. Not today! I walked in a walked right back out! I understand this store sell fresh/frozen seafood but that's not a reason for the smell of seafood to greet me at the door. It smelled like a seafood only market! I've never experienced this aroma at any other HT locations. So, I was definitely surprised. As I walked got in my vehicle I also noticed the same nasty, fishy smell outside as well. read more

This was my first time visiting this location in a very long time. Although I go to Cameron Village often this one was closer so I decided to give it a try. It is much smaller than most other Harris Teeters but still manages to have everything you need. I actually went in to get cheese from the deli but when I saw the staff cleaning the slicers I decided to just get prepackaged cheese. The staff still asked if I would like for him to put the slicer back together and cut me some cheese but I refused considering I have worked in a deli before (IYKYK). I used the self checkout lane but there was an employee there willing to help me if I needed assistance. I can honestly say this was one of the worse experiences I have ever encountered at a business in 40 years. I waited to write my review to ensure I wasn't writing in anger. The treatment that I recieved from a manager at this location was truly unacceptable. I am a frequent Harris Teeter shopper and have encountered some amazing staff over the years at many locations. Though on Saturday, February 8th that was not the case. I can honestly say I may not ever go back to this location again. The manager I am referring to name is David. He was cashiering on this particular Saturday. He was rude, verbally aggressive, argumentative, and demeaning in his speech towards me. The way I was treated by him was beyond unacceptable. I informed him there is truly no reason for him to be talking to me or treating me in such a manner of disrespect. His response was he had a fever and still had to work. I responded back with it doesn't give you the right to give horrible customer service. Truly a person should never be treated the way I was that day. Especially when I was a guest in his establishment spending my hard earned money. I will return to other locations but definitely not that one. I always forget this Harris Teeter is even here. It's located at the corner of Glenwood and Oberlin, kind of behind some trees. You in fact have to be coming from the northern end of Glenwood to even get a look at the place from the road. It's awkward location, coupled with the fact that there's another Harris Teeter literally a mile away on Oberlin makes this one kind of fade into nonexistance. All that said, I highly recommend the place for people who live in the area, I dare say over going to the Cameron Village location on Oberlin. Unlike Cameron Village the parking lot here always appears to have plenty of parking, that's easy to see. They also have cart returns in the parking lot, so you don't have to walk all the way back to the store with your cart (or be the inconsiderate person who leaves it in the middle of the parking lot blocking one of the few empty spaces if that's your thing). As far as my shopping list goes they have all the same products (although the store itself seems smaller) as the Cameron location, and there are a lot less people there which makes it much easier to get around. Only downside is that they only have cashier run check outs rather than the U-Scan so you're forced to wait in a line old school style for a few minutes once you're done getting your shopping on. read more

My rating refers specifically to the new Express Lane online ordering process. I have always liked the store itself and still do even though I've seen changes I don't like since Kroger bought them out. The new way to order online is pretty lousy. You can't leave notes (at least I can't figure out how). If they don't have an organic item they do NOT replace it with a conventional one. No one calls you anymore to discuss substitutions, etc. You can no longer add items AT ALL once you submit the order. I picked up an online order today and at least 6 items were not available. They substituted some but not others. Again, no text or phone call to discuss availability and substitution issues. In no way is this an improvement for the customer. Maybe it's more efficient for Kroger which saves them money? What about the customer experience?? read more

Ok it's 2017 and Harris teeter still has not updated the credit card terminals No Apple Pay and no chip reader for credit cards it's long overdue Krogers needs to spend the money to update this is technology to protect the customer with more and more competition coming to raleigh like Publix and Wegmans customers will no longer have to settle for what use to work in the past and its past time to take note that customer service at Publix sets the example of the way to be treated again Harris teeter is not up to standard of service that Publix offers or Trader Joes but they do lead way in being most expensive this is why I do not frequent Harris teeter read more

I heart this Harris Teeter it's super convenient and oh my goodness an actual parking lot that works , thank you, thank you, thank you! I love grocery shopping if I ever get stranded anywhere I hope it's in a grocery shop, but what I don't like is the stupid parking lots. This Harris Teeter makes it easy breezy to get in and out. I call this a boutique Harris Teeter it's smaller then the others but you can still find just about everything you would ever need. The fish and meat counter always has better choices then my other HT down the street plus the staff here are always so nice. Every time I visit this store I leave with a smile on my face. There is always someone there making you feel welcome. It's nice to have this smaller HT to go to it's easy to navigate and will save you time if you just need a couple of things. I will say that driving into this shopping center is a little tricky if you are not familiar with it (trust me once you visit you will understand). So yeah I'm a fan, convenient location, easy parking, can't ask for much more in a neighborhood grocery store!! read more

Harris Teeter is not usually the grocery store I hit up because quite frankly I think it's a little pricey. The quality's great and the store is well-kept. They have lots of samples for you to try out in all of the fresh food departments like fruit, vegetables, cheeses, meats, and desserts. I started going to this one for my office. My coworker and I would take the company card and buy the office groceries (beverages, snacks, etc.) and we reason spending what we spend only because it's for the office. We use our Vic cards of course. I'll admit, that they have some great deals and we certainly spend a lot of money all in the name of business. Some of the staff up front is quite helpful and often remembers us and some are just your usual grocery workers. A lot of times they have 10 sodas for the price of 5. They have lots of specials. In the process of shopping for our office I've discovered their deli specials. On Mondays you can get a 6" bbq sub for $2.99. They have a hot and cold sub special every day of the week. On Fridays you can get any foot-long sub for $3.99. They make them all right in front of you and all the staff in the deli are always quite helpful. This is one of 3 Harris Teeters that I regularly use. (Yeah, I'm fully aware that your average person doesn't have 3 regular grocery stores of the same type, LOL). Mainly it's because I used to live right around the corner from it, so it was convenient. I live further away now, but still like to make the trek to this one every other time or so. The workers there have become familiar to me and have always been really nice. This Harris Teeter also seems to have the all natural Minty Chocolate Chip ice cream in stock ALL the time. Other HT's, I've noticed, either don't carry it for some reason or ran out. Being that it's my GF's favorite ice cream, it's also a requirement that I go to this one, LOL! The location is a little awkward right off Glenwood and Oberlin, but the shopping center also has some other cool shops and restaurants. Parking is fairly easy and I can usually find a spot almost right in front of the store. HT can be pricey, but I've learned to look out for the sales and to always have my VIC card handy. The daily meat specials are awesome! In terms of meat, I only buy from Harris Teeter. With the selection of USDA Choice meats and the freshness, you can't go wrong. I like this Harris Teeter, especially because you can grab dinner at Haru or Glenwood Grill right next door (or Domino's if that's your thing...). If you are in it for the people-watching, then you probably want to head up Oberlin to the other HT in Cameron Village. But, if you're just trying to get your shopping done, it is a fine choice. It is a little awkward to get in-and-out of the parking lot, but once you figure it out, it's fine. This is definitely my favorite Harris Teeter in ITB Raleigh. It's a little farther from downtown so it's relatively unknown compared to other local supermarkets like the Kroger on Six Forks Road or the huge Harris Teeter in Cameron Village. This is a great place to do my grocery shopping yet not have to fight the crowds or fight for a parking spot! It's smaller than the Cameron Village Harris Teeter but I've never struggled to find something that I need. The one thing I wish it had was Express Lane so I could order groceries online! read more

Service at HT is quickly deteriorating. We moved from Garner to Raleigh and have been looking for a similar shopping experience that the one we had in Garner. Unfortunately, this location is a reflection of the poor customer service you can expect now at HT. You are expected to bag your own groceries and the cashiers have attitudes and could not care less, which is something they definitely mimic from their managers. One should expect better from a place that advertises itself as a top quality and prices it's merchandise accordingly. read more

I love my Glenwood Village Harris Teeter! I went in today to buy a couple of things, Robert rang me up and Kathy was there bagging. When I went to pay I found that I had left my wallet at home. Robert paid for my groceries! He knew that I was in a hurry I needed to pick my son up from school. They know me, they know my mom. Love that place! I live off S. Saunders and will drive across town to buy my groceries here. I even pass the other (always packed) Harris Teeter in Cameron Village! This little store doesn't have self checkout. It also doesn't have an elaborate salad bar or the variety of goods the others do, but... This place, in the middle of Raleigh, has that relaxed feel. It's never too busy and there are always plenty of people up front rushing to help you. If you just want to get your groceries for the week and take your time without feeling crowded. This little hidden store is the place. Still amazes me there is another up the street in Cameron Village that you can't even get a parking spot at?! Unless I only need one or two items this is were I shop. It's not crowded, parking is easy, people are great and it's not ghetto. I like this store. The iles are a little crowded but the store is well laid out and very clean. I shop here 95% of the time.

So I'm going to go ahead and say that I go to this store more than anyone. I live less than a mile away and I go several times a week. It's very relaxed and small, but there is almost no trouble finding what you need. The employees are very nice too. read more
